11-01-05        6:53am  Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint by R&C Landscaping in the 2200 block of 229th Place, Ames, they reported that someone had attempted to steal gas from couple of their gas tanks. No gas was reported stolen, pumps will have to be repaired.

11-01-05        7:56am  Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint of a stalled vehicle at 166th and Nature Rd, owner was notified and they were in process of getting another tire, as a tire was flat, and they will get vehicle moved.

11-01-05        9:45am  Sgt Hurley took a Mitch Simpson 25 of Boone into custody at the Courthouse. Simpson was arrested for contempt of court, bond $500.00.

11-02-05        7:09am  Sgt Hurley investigated a car-deer accident in the 1900 block of Peach Ave, Madrid.  John Roosa 36 of Madrid struck a deer causing minor damages to his 1996 Nisson, no injuries were reported.

11-02-05        9:39am  Sgt Hurley began an investigation of the theft of a Homebuilt snowmobile trailer from Jerry's Lawn mower shop in Luther. Trailer was stolen sometime since Monday night. Value est at $500.00.

11-02-05        7:03pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint of a domestic situation in the 900 block of 222nd Drive lot 25, was a dispute between parties about payment on repairs of a mobile home. No arrests made spoke to both parties involved.

11-03-05        9:55am  Deputy Kendall came across a vehicle that appeared to have been in an accident with broken glass, turned out to be a Domestic situation at J Ave and Old 30, both parties spoken to by the Deputy and no charges filed as no assault had taken place.

11-03-05        12:37pm  Dustin Pendarvis 18 of Boone turned himself into the Boone County Jail as there was a warrant for his arrest, bond $7,500.00 aggravated assault.

11-03-05        4:18pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a complaint of a farm tractor that had rolled in the 2000 block of K Ave, Woodward, woodward fire rescue and Madrid fire responded.  Robert Knox 66 of Woodward was not pinned but did receive minor injuries, he was taken by ambulance to Mercy in Des Moines.

11-03-05        5:07pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a complaint of trash dumped along the roadway on 290th 1/2 mile West of Highway 17. Road crew was notified to pick-up old bikes and trash.

11-03-05        8:42pm  Deputy Dominick arrested a Valarie Bollie 40 of Woodward in Madrid, she was arrested on a Boone County Warrant for non payment of child support, bond $1,000.00.

11-04-05        2:14am  Deputy Dominick made a traffic stop at MARION AND 8TH St, driver Jeremy D. Bogue 24 of Boone was charged with driving while lic suspended and stop sign violation.

11-04-05        8:12am  Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint by Lavern Johnson that someone had tampered with his dryer Bin, Someone had cut wires and caused damage to the dryer, damages est at $1,000.00, this took place at 363 I Ave, Pilot Mound.

11-04-05        7:52pm  Deputy Dominick made a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Y Ave, Ames.  Driver Ashley J. Hess 20 of Story City was arrested for speeding and possession of marijuana.

11-06-05        4:56pm  Deputy Rohden and Elsberry responded to a single vehicle accident on old highway 30 West of Boone a motorcycle operated by a male operator was witnessed to have lost control of his 1976 BMW Motorcycle, witness said that he saw the front tire of the motorcycle wobble and then driver and bike skidded onto its side for a long distance. The operator was air lifted to Mercy in Des Moines in critical condition, no other vehicles were involved. Boone Ambulance and Fire responded along with Ogden Police Dept to assist with traffic control.  Diver Scott O. Barnett 35 of Rural Boone died from his injuries at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines after 11:00pm

11-07-05        2:27pm  Deputy Elsberry has begun an investigation of an identity theft of a rural Boone County man. Involving health insurance and social security numbers being used in Minnesota. Investigation continuing.

11-07-05        10:51pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a refrigerator in the middle of the roadway 2100 block of 310th Madrid. Deputy pushed the Fridge off the roadway.

11-08-05        12:40pm  Sgt Hurley gave a death notification to a Boone County Resident who's brother was killed in a Single vehicle accident in Hamilton County.

11-08-05        5:32pm  Deputy Godzicki responded to an alarm sounding in the 2200 block of 229th St, Ames. was a false alarm.

11-08-05        6:52pm  Deputy Godzicki and Pontius responded to Pilot Mound on a complaint of a domestic dispute in the 100 block of Cottage St.  Male individual had fled the area, investigation continuing.

11-08-05        11:01pm  Deputy Middleton investigated a single vehicle accident 1/4 mile east of Pilot Mound on E18.  Belinda Hein 48 of Pilot Mound was west bound and struck a Shetland pony on the roadway. The pony belonged to Ron Ahrens and was killed.  No injuries were reported, damages were est at $4,000.00 to Hein's 1991 Buick.

11-09-05        4:13pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a complaint by a resident who was concerned with a neighbor putting in a device that makes a loud bang to scare birds away at regular intervals. This took place int he 1800 block of 200th, Boone.  County Attorney will review.

11-09-05        5:57pm  Deputy Rohden responded to the Story County Line to a pick-up a prisoner form the Ames P.D.  Inmate Josh Haggard was arrested by Ames on a Boone County Warrant, bond $7,800.00 probation violation.

11-10-05        12:37am  Deputy Dominick made a traffic stop in the 400 block of D Ave for speeding. Driver Anthony C. McKinney 33 of Fort Dodge, was charged with speeding 85 in 55 zone and driving while suspended.

11-10-05        1:55am  Deputy Middleton arrested a Anthony J. Tjentland 26 of Boone on a Boone County Warrant, bond $7,500.00 failure to appear probation violation

11-11-05        6:41am  Deputy Elsberry investigated a car deer accident on E26 on the curve near water works. Driver Barb Bravard 62 of Pilot Mound struck a deer, causing approximately $300.00 in damages to her 1991 Honda Accord, no injuries were reported.

11-11-05        1:04pm  Deputy Kendall investigated a two vehicle accident 1/10th of mile West of Nature Rd on 122nd Lane.  Matthew C. Stotts 25 of Carroll was backing out a driveway in the 1200 mile of 122nd Ln  and backed into a legally parked vehicle in a cul de sac. Causing $1,500.00 in damages to Stotts 2000 Dodge Dakota, and $2,500.00 to James Stotts 2003 Toyota. no injuries were reported.

11-12-05        3:57pm  Deputy Rohden responded to address in the 800 block of 105th Pilot Mound, on a complaint from the hospital that there was female at that location threatening suicide.  Individual was located and taken to the Boone County hospital for evaluation.

11-12-05        5:06pm  911 Center received a complaint of a vehicle that had gone into the ditch at 255th and P Ave, Ledges Park Officer covered due to all other busy with storms hitting in different locations throughout the County.  No injuries were reported, $5,000.00 in damages to a vehicle owned by Robert Deornellas 22 of Des Moines.

11-12-05        4:10pm  Spotters were called to watch threatening weather into Boone County from the West and South.  Area of Concern were the Boxholm area with a potential tornado and hail coming out of Green County moving NE at 40 mph, and the Perry Woodward area also with potential of tornado and hail moving to the NE out of Dallas County.  Storms did hit both areas about 4:35pm, A tornado caused damages to a home just east of E Ave on E18 also caused damages to barn and corn crib and killed a horse at that location, Also in that area there were several Alliant power Poles that were broken off on E18 and along 110th and G Ave.  North of Madrid there was a home damaged and trees at the Corner of Highway 17 and 300th. Boone County Received no injuries, the Tornado that hit in the NW part of Boone County along E18 was the same storm that hit Stratford, The Tornado on Highway 17 was the same storm that went through Woodward, and then after Boone County went on into the NW part of Ames.  Boone County Deputies are assisting emergency personal in Woodward, and the Boone Fire and Boone Ambulances are assisting in Stratford.   Damaged areas by Tornados in Boone County include the following,  Petty Farm off E26 NW part of County, 637 105th St, 1803 300th St, Madrid, Power lines down in the 200 block of F Ave, and a Morton building at 11 H Ave Also in the NW Corner. No injuries were reported.

11-13-05        3:00am  Perry P.D. Informed Boone County that they had arrested a Jesus Casas 54 of Perry wanted on a Boone County Warrant, Individual will be transported on a later date as Dallas County had charges on the individual.

11-13-05        3:30am  Deputy Dominick and Pontius assisted the Madrid P.D. with a self inflicted gunshot victim in the City of Madrid.  Coroner was called to the scene. Madrid P.D. will complete reports.

11-13-05        8:48am Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint of cattle running loose in the area of E26 and Highway 17.  Fence was damaged during the storm and cattle got loose.

11-14-05        1:30pm  Mickey G. Heath 60 of Norwalk turned himself into the Sheriff's Office on a warrant for 1st degree theft, bond $10,000.00

11-14-05        3:19pm  Matthew Duncan 24 of Pilot Mound turned himself into the Sheriff's Office on a warrant for 3rd degree theft, bond $6,000.00

11-14-05        4:00pm  Doug Clark 18 of Boone turned himself into the Sheriff's Office on a Warrant for 2 counts of Burglary 3rd degree.  This was a result of an investigation of the Burglary of Lynette McPherson's home on October 27th 2005. Accomplices will be charged later today, they include the following Aaron Howell 17 of Boone, Daniel Wiese 17 of Ogden, Louie Leaf 17 of Ogden. Leaf and Weise burglary 3rd, and Howell Possession of stolen property.

11-14-05        6:13pm  Deputy Elsberry took a complaint from a Ron Gregory that he was attacked by a black dog in the 1300 block of Quill Ave, he did not receive injuries as he was wearing coveralls. Gregory rides his bike back and forth to work from Madrid to Boone Dailey. Incident was turned over to Humane Society.

11-15-05        6:00am  Sgt Hurley investigated a pick-up deer accident 3/4 mile west of Boone on Old 30.  Gary D. Musser  49 of Ogden struck a deer causing $1,500.00 in damages to his 1996 Dodge Ram Pick-up. No injuries were reported.

11-15-05        10:18am  Sgt Hurley responded to a Fraser on a complaint from the Mayor that someone was stealing rock from the city that was to be used a city roadway. Hurley spoke to a suspect who denied taking the rock. Investigation continuing.

11-15-05        3:32pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a single vehicle accident in the 300 block 280th Perry. Driver Ranae Johnson 41 of Boone lost control on the snow and ice and drove into a bean field. No injuries were reported, damages were under $1,000.00 to her 1989 Ford.

11-15-05        6:12pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a single vehicle roll-over on Highway 169, north of Woodward.  Raymundo Hernandez 32 of Milwaukee Wisconsin was north bound when he lost control on the snow covered roadway and rolled into the east ditch. No injuries were reported. Damages were est at $5,000.00 to his 2003 Mercury.

11-15-05        9:17am  Deputy Dominick was assisting a motorist in the ditch in the 1800 block of Highway 30, when another vehicle struck the back of the patrol unit.  State patrol was called to investigate the accident.  Manual Gonzalez-Santos struck the back of the Sheriff's Patrol unit causing $500.00 in damages to the 2005 Frod Corn Victoria, and $1,500.00 in damages to Gonzalez-Santo's 2002 Dodge. No injuries were reported.

11-15-05        On October 8th, 2005 a John Pfeffer of 6018 West Lincolnway Ames reproted that his 1999 Chevy S10 Pickup was stolen from his residence.  he Pickup was recovered in Des Moines by Des Moines P.D. as the vehcile was parked in front of Pawn shop with occupant asleep inside. That Occupant was a John P. Reynolds 40. Reynolds was wanted on a probation revocation warrant out of Warren County. He will also be charged by Des Moines P.D. with possession of Stolen property 2nd degree.  Investigation continuing.

11-15-05        7:10pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a complaint of a vehicle that had gone into a on Highway 30 near Seven Oaks, the vehicle had little or no damages but was a road hazard as was left partially up against a rail and roadway, vehicle towed was a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass.

11-15-05        7:40pm  Deputy Rohden responded to Pilot Mound on a complaint of a snow mobile runnign through yards in Town, snowmobile was not located.

11-16-05        11:26pm  Deputy Middleton investigated a single vehicle accident 1 mile West of Boone on 198th. Angus McPherson 17 of Boone was west bound when he slid on snow covered roadway and went into the south ditch, causing $2,500.00 in damages to his 1994 Ford Explorer. No injuries were reported.

11-18-05        8:08am  Chief Deputy Mitchell responded to a Green County to pick-up a prisoner Anthony C. Kennedy of Jefferson wanted a Parole Violation for the State of Iowa, Boone County Will hold for State.

11-18-05        8:34am  Deputy Elsberry began an investigation of a theft of Karokee equipment from a vehicle in the 800 block of 216th, Ogden.  Burnis R. Rhoads owner of the equipment reported that the theft from his van occurred overnight, value est at $650.00. Investigation continuing.

11-18-05        8:22pm  Deputy Godzicki investigated a single vehicle accident 9 miles NE of Boone on E18.  Theodore A. Blum 43 of Pilot Mound was west bound when he claimed there was a second vehicle east bound in the middle of the roadway, Blum swerved to avoid contact and struck a mail box.  Damages were est at $3,000.00 to his 2000 Land Rover SUV, and $50.00 to a mail box owned by Susan Twedt of 1820 130th. No injuries were reported.

11-19-05        7:55am  Sgt Hurley responded to a domestic situation in the 1000 block of 200th St, Boone.  Was a verbal altercation, no charges filed. Parties separated.

11-19-05        8:25am  Sgt Hurley responded to an alarm sounding at the United Community School, was a false alarm.

11-19-05        9:32am  Sgt Hurley responded to a a complaint of a theft of an air compressor from a machine shed in the 1700 block of G Ave.  James Haberer reported that the air compressor was taken overnight, and valued at $250.00. Evidence was collected at the scene, investigation continuing.

11-19-05        9:55am  Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint by Bill Burt of Rural Ogden, that someone has been damaging his mail box and no hunting signs.  He had a mail box damaged over night, and there were a few others damaged in the area.

11-19-05        10:18am  Sgt Hurley responded to the 6100 block of W Lincoln way lot 33 Ames. Phyllis Searcy reported that someone had broken into their storage shed behind the house. Property in the shed stolen belonged to a neighbor, missing is over $2,000 equipment, including a furnace. Investigation continuing.

11-19-05        2:30pm  Deputy Elsberry investigated a single vehicle accident 3 miles East of Ogden on 222nd Dr. Archie L. Bell Jr. 62 of Madrid was east bound as he met another west bound vehicle Archie pulled to the roadside and rolled his vehicle into the ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $5,000.00 to his 1991 Chevy 3 ton truck.

11-20-05        12:33pm  Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint of hunters trespassing on private property in the 1500 block of 280th St, Madrid.  Hunters were warned.

11-21-05        9:22am  Deputies and City Officer responded to Courthouse on call that Judge was having a problem with male individual in Court room. When officers arrived all was calm.

11-22-05        6:50am  Sgt Hurley investigated a pick-up-deer accident in the 1000 block of 130th Boone.  Richard E. Carter 29 of Dayton struck a deer, causing $2,000.00 in damages to his 1997 Chevy Pick-up. No injuries were reported.

11-22-05        7:17am  Sgt Hurley assisted a Boone County Ambulance with a medical emergency in the 1000 block of G Ave Ogden. 44 year old male was taken to the Boone County Hospital with chest pain.

11-22-05        1:18pm  A female individual was attempting to make contact with an inmate while the inmate was talking to attorney's in the Courthouse and was causing problems. Female was escorted out of the building by Deputies.

11-22-05        1:54pm  Sheriff Fehr and Sgt Hurley took the same female who was escorted from the Courthouse into custody as she was on the north side of the courthouse and attorneys were concerned for their safety. No charges have been filed at this time. Boone P.D. did assist.

11-22-05        3:53pm  Deputy Rohden responded to Boxholm on a complaint of 16 year old boys playing with an air BB pistol and one boy was shot in the face with it. That 16 year old did not receive any serious injuries. All parties spoke to, a this time no charges were filed and the BB gun was taken into custody.

11-22-05        3:52pm  Deputy Kendall arrested and released a Nekey D. Reagan 22 of Boone for driving while lic. suspended in the 1000 block of West Mamie, Boone.

11-22-05        9:35pm  Deputy Dominick took a 16 year old female runaway into custody north of Perry, Child was transported by court order to a shelter in Des Moines. Runway was a Boone County Resident from the Perry area.

11-23-05        2:15am  Deputy Middleton responded to BJ's Lounge in Madrid to assist a Madrid Officer with a Domestic situation at the Bar.  Two individuals were arrested by Madrid P.D.

11-23-05        7:12am  Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint of a deer that had been struck on the roadway on County Rd E26 just east of the Waterworks on the curves. Deer was dispatched.

11-23-05        11:27am  Deputy Elsberry assisted the State Patrol with a personal injury accident at Highway 30 and Highway 17. One person was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, another was taken to the Boone County Hospital, both appeared to minor injuries.

11-23-05        1:26pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint by a Farmer in the Berkley area that a vehicle had been abandoned at Clover and 325th. Farmer was unable to get Anhydrous tank and farm equipment around the abandoned vehicle. Vehicle a 1989 Oldsmobile was towed.

11-24-05        10:49am  Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint by the Woodward Academy that someone had vandalized some signs on the State property by pray painting swear words on the them.  Investigation continuing.

11-24-05        11:45am  Deputy Kendall took a complaint that a there was a custody problem with a child that was to be be given to another party for Thanksgiving and the party with the child refused to allow this visitation, parties were told to contact their Attorneys for contempt of court, as court orders such as this was civil problem not criminal.

11-24-05        5:10pm  Deputy Rohden investigated a single vehicle roll-over 1 mile North of Boone on R21.  Joseph S. Lestina 18 of Stratford was north bound when he drove off the shoulder and lost control, rolling his vehicle into the east ditch. Injured was a passenger Jacob Lestina who was air lifted by Mercy One to Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines.  Damages were est at $2,000.00 to Lestina's 1988 Cavalier. Jacob was ejected for the rear window of the vehicle.

11-25-05        6:26am  Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint by Bert Ashburn of Rural Ogden that someone had driven through 5 field gates  on his properties in the 1100 of J Ave Ogden.  Further investigation on the property a license plate was left at the scene.  Individuals were located and charged with Criminal Mischief  3rd degree, they were as follows Shawn Smith 22, Gary Byriel 22, Joshua Nelson 22, and Penny Davis 25 all of Boone. 5 gates damaged at $140.00 each.

11-25-05        12:25pm  Deputy Elsberry investigated a single vehicle accident 3 miles West of Madrid in the 1600 block of 334th St, Madrid.  Brenda Davisson 45 of Woodward was west bound on 334th when a deer ran out in front of her causing $1,500.00 in damages to her 2001 Ford Taurus. No injuries were reported.

11-25-05        3:35pm  Detective Kendall began an investigation of a fraudulent use of a credit card, Kenneth Downing of Rural Ogden reported that a credit card was being used that he did not apply for, and it had been used at a Wal-Mart in Ames. Investigation continuing.

11-25-05        5:57pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint of ditches on Fire in the 200 block of Nature Rd. Boone Fire responded.

11-26-05        10:24pm  Deputy Middleton began an investigation of a farm tractor that had been operated on a county roadway on 198th Rd, Boone, just west of the Salvage yard. Tractor had a chisel plow attached and caused damages to the roadway. Investigation continuing as tractor and chisel plow were gone when officer arrived, but officer was able to follow damage to the tractor and plow, but unable to talk to the operator.

11-27-05        7:56am  Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint of a vehicle along the roadway and operator asleep inside in the area of 1700 block of R Ave, Madrid.  Person inside was woke up and spoke to by Officer. Driver Joshua Welcher 25 of Boone was cited for no proof of insurance.

11-27-05        11:21am  Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint by Alan Benson of Rural Madrid that someone had attempted to break into his shed overnight. Nothing was reported taken, damages were reported to the door.

11-27-05        2:41pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a complaint by Michelle Blattel of Rural Madrid that an alarm was sounding on her barn, and then she observed a male individual leaving the building and run into a field after he saw her. Nothing was reported missing.  Extra Patrol has been requested for that area.  Madrid P.D. also responded.

11-27-05        8:11pm  Deputy Dominick responded to a complaint by Brock Cartwright of rural Bone, that someone had broken into his garage and taken $2,900.00 in tools and Christmas decorations.  Investigation continuing.

11-28-05        8:22am  Sgt. Hurley investigated a car deer accident 1/2 mile south of Boone on Highway 30 and Montana St.  Wendy Strovers 40 of Boone was east bound when another east bound vehicle just ahead of her struck a deer in traffic, causing deer to be thrown and into windshield of the Strovers vehicle. First vehicle continued and unknown driver. Stover received minor injuries, and $350.00 in damages to her 1989 Pontiac.  Strover refused treatment.

11-29-05        1:00pm  Deputy Elsberry investigated a car deer accident 5 miles SE of Boone at R18 and E57.  John E. Daniels 43 of Pilot Mound was west bound on E57 when a deer ran out in front of him, causing $2,500.00 in damages to his 1999 Pontiac Sunbird. No injuries were reported, this accident occurred the night before at 8:20pm. Daniels just reported it today at 1:00pm.

11-30-05        7:28am  Deputy Elsberry investigated a two vehicle accident 1 mile west of Ames at Y Ave and 220th.  Zachary A. Janes 15 of Ames was at stop sign facing west when he pulled from the stop sign and struck a north bound vehicle operated by Tyler C. Lundy 22 of Boone. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $2,500.00 to Janes' 1991 Corsica, and $3,500.00 to Lundy's 1999 Mazda.

11-30-05        11:59am Rural Ogden Mail carrier called in a house fire at 547 290th St, Ogden.  Ogden Fire, Grand Jct Fire and Boone Fire all responded. Ogden P.D. and Sheriff's Deputies assisted at the scene along with Ogden First Responders. Red Cross also responded. Home belongs to Dan and Deb Miller. No one home at time of fire, no injuries were reported. Home received substantial damage.
