2-01-06 2:20am The Office was informed by West Des Moines that they had arrested a Chad Riley 25 of West Des Moines for for failure to appear contempt of court. They also have charges and will notify when complete.
2-01-06 2:54pm Sheriff Fehr arrested a Donald L. Green 53 of Boone. Green was wanted on a warrant out of Carroll County. Drug charges, $3,000.00 bond. Arrest was made at the Sheriff's Office.
2-02-06 2:12am Deputy Elsberry investigated a single vehicle accident involving a Boone Police Squad vehicle. Patrolman Scott Clauson was in route to the County Jail with a male prisoner. The prisoner became combative in the patrol unit and officer became distracted while west bound on 22nd street, and proceeded through a T Intersection at 22nd and Marion. Drove patrol vehicle into the ditch and pasture. No one was injured, damages were est at $15,000.00 to the 2005 Ford Crown Victoria. Prisoner Rick Howard 44 of Boone was transported to the Jail, where he continued to be combative.
2-02-06 6:25am Rudy Hockemeier of Rural Ogden reported to Sgt Hurley that he located a cell phone on his property in the 800 block of 170th. No reason for the phone to have been there. Phone turned over to Sgt Hurley who will contact Verizon as to who had this phone. Turned out phone belonged to LP Gas driver who lost it while filling up the LP Tank.
2-02-06 11:35am Sgt Hurley responded to Pilot Mound to speak to the Mayor about a water meter valve had been broken at one of the residents where service had been shut off. Investigation continuing.
2-02-06 6:55pm Deputy Elsberry investigated a complaint by Karla J. Pennington 45 of Boone that she had struck a bail of hay on highway 30. She was went bound and received under $1,000.00 in damages to her 2001 Ford Wind star Van.
2-03-06 9:04pm Deputy Pontius arrested a Joana Holmes 18 of Ames at 5th and Marshall, Boone for driving while license suspended 3 counts.
2-03-06 11:51pm Dayton Police made an arrest of a Justin P. Stevens 28 of Dayton on a Boone County warrant for failure to appear, bond $200.00.
2-05-06 12:43pm Sgt Hurley began an investigation of a bullet hole found in the side of a vehicle. Owner of the vehicle Lindsay Murray of Dayton reported that her and her mother discovered the hole and removed the bullet today. Lindsay said that on Jan 24th or 25th while she was driving this vehicle east of the Des Moines River on 130th she heard a loud bang but she did not notice anything until this day. Investigation continuing.
2-05-06 11:53pm Deputy Pontius responded to a burglary that had just occurred in Pilot Mound at the old Fire Station. Stolen was 40 gallons of Sodium Hypochlorite used for water treatment. Witness had observed 3 men in dark clothing break into the building approximately 30 minutes earlier. Witness also observed a dark full sized van that the 3 men placed the 5 gallon buckets into and left the area. Investigation continuing.
2-06-06 4:24am Deputy Middleton responded to Perry to pick-up a prisoner arrested by Perry P.D. at the Dallas County Hospital. Arrested on a Bone County Warrant was Anthony J. McGilvrey 19 of Woodward.
2-06-06 10:16am Deputy Kendall has begun an investigation of internet theft. Tami Martinek of Rural Madrid reported that she had purchased a vehicle on the internet, and they placed a $4000.00 deposit with the remainder to be paid when vehicle picked up. Turned out the deposit went to another Country and no vehicle. Investigation continuing. This investigation should be a reminder to local residents that when making purchases on the internet you know who you are dealing with get references and check that company out thoroughly even check the better business bureau before transferring the money. The internet has made the world a much smaller place and investigation such as this next to impossible to conclude.
2-07-06 8:26pm Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint by James Scheuerman of West 16th St. Boone, he reported that his girlfriend moved out of their residence and took over $1,500.00 worth of his possessions, he was told that this is a civil matter.
2-07-06 8:37pm Detective Kendall did a search of a residence in Dayton Iowa to search for stolen property that was taken in a burglary in West Ames, items were not located.
2-08-06 12:18am The Water main alarm went off in the jail from cell 245. Inmate William Clark 21 had popped the water sprinkler causing water to distribute in the cell and set off alarms. There was an estimated damage of $500.00 to repair unit and clean up water mess. Inmate Clark was charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd degree.
2-08-06 3:39am Deputy Middleton reported that he had located a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 30 east bound by United Community School. No damages but the rear of the vehicle was hanging into traffic and vehicle had to be towed. Had gone in ditch because of slick road conditions.
2-08-06 7:10am Sgt Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident 2.5 miles NW of Perry on 325th St. Kashia L. Mobley 20 of Jefferson was south bound when she lost control on the curve due to snow and ice covered roadway and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $1,500.00 to her 2000 Pontiac. No damages were reported to the utility pole.
2-08-06 9:03am Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch on new 30 near the Madrid Exit, no damages to the vehicle. Driver was Phu N. Truong 21 of Mt Pleasant.
2-08-06 1:00pm Sgt Hurley assisted by the State Patrol investigated a a two vehicle accident east of Boone 1 mile on old 30. Deyanna Alberts 24 of Ogden was west bound when she lost control on the snow and struck a Semi head on, operated by Thomas Hilsabeck 58 of Boone. Injured was Alberts and her passengers Michael L. Deaton Jr. 31 of Ogden, Natalie Deaton 3, and Adam Deaton 6 Months. Alberts, and the 2 children were taken to the Boone County Hospital for treatment of their injuries, Michael Deaton was airlifted by Mercy Helicopter to Mercy in Des Moines in Critical condition. Hilsabeck received no injuries. Accident report is not completed at this time.
2-09-06 4:30pm Deputy Mitchell arrested Keith A. Allen 42 of Ogden at the Boone County Courthouse. Allen appeared in public at the Court house in an intoxicated state. He was charged with 3rd offense Public intoxication.
2-10-06 11:04pm Deputy Elsberry responded to a 911 call to a residence in the 900 block of 222nd, one the Mobile Homes. individual who is mentally disturbed has been calling 911 and using abusive language with dispatchers, this has taken place on several occasions. The individuals cell phone was taken away from him and parents were spoken to about this behavior has to stop. Charges are pending.
2-11-06 5:00pm Deputy Dominick investigated a Farm tractor vs. car in the 100 block of T Ave. Melody Roberts 44 of Ames was south bound passing a tractor, the tractor then turned into a driveway while the car was passing and struck the passenger car toward the rear of the car. No one was injured, damages were est. at $3,000.00 to the 1999 Pontiac, and no damages to the 1980 International tractor. Driver of the tractor was Melvin Sturtz 49 of Boone.
2-12-06 1:25am Madrid Officer informed Dispatch that he was in pursuit of a vehicle south into Dallas County, a few minutes later it was reported that the vehicle that the Madrid Officer was in pursuit of was involved in roll-over accident. Deputy Pontius responded from the Ledges area to assist. One person was trasnported to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Accident report will be completed by Dallas County Authorities.
2-12-06 3:27am Deputy Pontius and Middleton responded to a 911 call of a motorist who had located a vehicle int he ditch on Highway 30 and J Ave. Vehicle was still running and doors locked, Driver was unresponsive to caller and Deputies when they arrived. Window was broken out and driver was intoxicated. Driver Justin D. Thompson 18 of Ames will be charged, investigation continuing.
2-12-06 10:37am Sgt Hurley assisted a Boone County Ambulance with a medical assist in the 700 block of V Ave, Boone. Elderly male was trasnported to the Boone County Hospital.

2-14-06 10:15am Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint by the United Community School that they had a 6th grader was completely ou tof control, and two teachers were now restraining the child. Parents were called to remove the child.
2-14-06 12:08pm Sgt Hurley responded to an unattended death in the 1500 block of T Ave. 72 Year old female was found by a family member after she had not returned from getting the mail.

2-14-06 4:03pm Deputy Rohden investigated a single vehicle accident at E57 and Quill Ave. Ann E. Fremont 46 of Madrid was north bound on Quill when she had a medical problem and lost control of the vehicle and went into the ditch striking a cement culvert and driveway. Fremont was taken tot he Boone County Hospital by Ambulance. Damages were est. at $4,500.00 to her 2006 Mercury.
2-15-06 10:00am Detective Kendall responded to the Old Archway building on a complaint by Lee Hitt of Boone that he had been working at this site and someone took scrap iron and his acetylene tank. Turned out the the iron and tank were mistakenly taken by an iron scrapper. Items were returned, no charges filed.
2-15-06 6:20pm Deputy Rohden investigated a single vehicle accident north of perry 1.5 miles on Highway 144. Driver Nick Johanns 34 of Rippey was west bound on 144 when he had a medical problem and lost control of his vehicle, ran off the roadway and into the south ditch striking a utility pole. Driver refused medical treatment. His 2006 Chevy received $5,000.00 in damages.

2-17-06 2:06am Deputy Elsberry and Pontius assisted the Boone Police with a complaint that an individual had broken into the cafeteria area of the Hospital and was observed running out of the Hospital wearing blue jeans and blue sweat shirt. Tracks were followed in the snow to 223 15th street, Boone. A male individual was arrested by Boone P.D. on a Boone County warrant. Also items missing from the hospital were located at the residence. Investigation continuing.

2/17/2006 11:23pm Deputy Middleton responded to the 900 block of 216th Drive for a report of a vehicle had gone into a yard and struck trees and a mailbox. Property damaged belong to Kim Kinne and Craig Rullestad. Driver of the vehicle was Brittney Wrabek, 14 of Boone. Damage to Wrabek’s vehicle was $5,000. Property damage amounts not available.
2/18/2006 10:59am Christine Cornwell turned herself in on a Boone County Warrant for contempt. Bond was set at $500.00 cash only.
2/18/2006 3:24pm Deputy Pontius responded to a residence for a property damage accident. A Redeker’s delivery truck had run into a DirectTV service van. Damage to the service van was estimated at $100.00.
2/18/2006 4:46pm Deputy Pontius responded to a call involving a hit and run between Jesse Kuenhold, Denison and a silver van that had run into the back of the Kuenhold vehicle. Deputy Pontius advised there was no damage.
2/19/2006 2:22am Deputies Middleton and Dominick responded to a complaint of an individual that had hit the guard rail on Hwy 30 westbound. Jason Capps, Perry, was arrested for OWI 2nd. There was $1000.00 damage to his vehicle and unknown damage to the guard rail.
2/19/2006 2:16pm Sgt Hurley arrested Chad Everett Ober, Fort Dodge, on a Hamilton County warrant for failure to appear. Bond set at $325.00 cash only.
2-20-06 7:07pm Deputy Rohden responded to an alarm sounding at the Boys and Girls home in West Ames was a false alarm.
2-20-06 4:31pm Deputy Rohden investigated a two vehicle accident 2 miles East of Ogden on Highway 30. Thomas Myers 69 of Ogden was in cross road on median and pulled into the path of a west bound vehicle operated by Dean Stoneburner 70 of Boone. Both drivers were transported by Boone County ambulance to the Boone County Hospital. Damages were est. at $4,000.00 to Myer's 1994 Chevy, and $4,000.00 to Stoneburner's 1988 Buick. Myers was cited for failure to yield right of way.
2-24-06 12:01am Des Moines P.D. arrested a Jonathan P. Woods 32 of Madrid on a Boone County Warrant, bond $500.00. , he was taken to the Polk County with Detainer placed.
2-25-06 10:18am Wayne Strovers of Rural Boone reported that a rental home of his had been vandalized, 5 windows were reported broken out and there was damages to the siding, investigation continuing. Damages est at $400.00.
2-26-06 12:04am Deputy Elsberry responded to West Ames on a complaint of a domestic situation. Individuals were spoken to and no charges at this time.
2-26-06 1:15am Deputy Elsberry responded to a single vehicle accident 4 miles NW of Boone on L Ave, [E26], in the 700 block. Clayton W. Vinson 21 of Boone was south bound when he left the roadway and struck an embankment causing the vehicle to vault and come to rest on its top. Vinson was airlifted from the scene to Mercy in Des Moines. Three passengers in the vehicle were all pronounced dead at the scene, they were Joseph B. Bravard 21 of Boone, Grant E. Ward 21 of Ames, and Trent L. Knutson 19 of Boone. The vehicle a 1998 GMC K1500 Truck received $10,000.00 in damages. At the scene to assist were the Iowa State Patrol, Ogden Police , Fire and First responders. Boone County Ambulance and Boone P.D. Investigation is continuing.
2-26-06 6:46pm Deputy Rohden investigated a single vehicle accident 2 miles East of Boone on E26. Otis McWilson 42 of Ames was west bound while reaching for a cell phone and lost control entering the south ditch and rolled his vehicle. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $5,000.00 to his 2000 Saturn.

2-28-06 8:36am Deputy Dominick responded to a report of a car fire on highway 30 a 1/2 mile from the Boone/Story County line, Kelly fire was dispatched, turned out to be a stalled motorist with a radiator over heated.
2-28-06 4:27pm Sgt Moore arrested a Damion Q. Louk 25 of Ogden in Ogden after a consent search of his residence. Louk was charged with possession of marijuana.
2-28-06 10:22pm Deputy Godzicki responded to a car fire in the 1300 block of 333rd Woodward. No one was in the abandoned vehicle. Vehicle was registered out of Urbandale, investigation continuing.
