No injuries were reported, damages were contained to electrical, but no power so had to find another place to sleep, Red Cross was contacted to assist.

12-01-06        1:21pm  Deputy Dominick responded to a complaint b a mail carrier of horses running loose in the area of 2100 block of T Ave. Deputy located the horses and rounded them, owner was notified.

12-01-06        3:56pm  The Office received a complaint by an area resident that they had received a scam through and e-mail, scam is a Euro Security Company S.L. with and international lotto commission from Spain, indicating that you have won an International Lottery they then want you to fill out a form with all your banking information to claim your prize. This scam is to get your bank information for their own gain and no money is coming your way, just delete or throw any mailings of this type away. This same scam has been used in years past.

12-02-06        9:18am  Sgt Hurley responded to an alarm sounding at the Monsanto Maintenance Shed in the 2300 block of 230th, was a false alarm.

12-03-06        4:02am  Deputy Middleton responded to a possible domestic situation in the 1700 block of 315th, Madrid. Deputy spoke to both parties and no arrests made at this time.

12-03-06        8:47am  John Kester of 996 L Ave reported that he had Christmas ornament [ a plywood cut out of Lisa Simpson] taken from his yard over night.

12-03-06        6:56pm  Deputy Dominick responded to an incomplete 911 to 1250 Jade Place, Ogden. was a phone malfunction.

12-03-06        8:43pm Deputy Pontius investigated a car deer accident NW of Boone on Mallard Rd.  Jordan B. Cook 19 of Boone was south bound on Mallard when a deer ran out in front of him, he hit the deer causing $1,000.00 to a 2000 Saturn. No injuries were reported.

12-03-06        11:37pm  Deputy Middleton and Pontius responded to a vehicle accident an structure fire in the same location at the same time.  Matthew D. Schrader 18 of Story City was traveling south bound on W Ave 4 miles SW of Story City when he observed a structure fire, became distracted missed a curve and rolled his vehicle into the ditch. Schrader and his passenger Zachary D. Schrader received minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to Mary Greeley in Ames. The vehicle a 2002 Saturn received $8,000.00 in damages. The Structure fire was at 366 W Ave Story City Fire and rescue as well as Hamilton and Story County Deputies arrived at the scene. The two Story Farm house owned by Larry Egemo of Story City said that the house was vacant. The house was a total loss. investigation continuing.

12-04-06        1:53pm  Deputy Rohden and Madrid Officer responded to a residential alarm sounding in the 2300 block of Pear Ln. Madrid, was a false alarm.

12-04-06        5:54pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a complaint by a motorist that she was flagged down by a man stating that there was an unconscious person in a pick-up in the 1200 block of 220th. There was no vehicle wreck it turned out to be a medical situation, individual was transported by ambulance to the Boone County Hospital.

12-04-06        7:49pm  Ogden Officer requested assistance with a domestic situation in the 600 block of SE 2nd, Ogden. One person was arrested by the Ogden Officer.

12-05-06        7:00am  Sgt. Hurley responded to a car deer accident 1.5 miles NE of Woodward on 334th Rd. Michelle L. Erickson 21 of Dallas Center struck a deer causing $3,000.00 in damages to her 2003 Ford Taurus. No injuries were reported.

12-05-06        11:15am  Sgt Hurley and P.D. Officers responded to the South and east of the CDS Building, employees heard what they thought was someone yelling possibly for help. Area was searched and officers located construction workers who had been yelling at each other, and the voices carried through the woods.

12-05-06        9:47pm  Deputy Middleton responded to the L&C Mobile Home park on a complaint from the owners and manager temporary manager that someone had vandalized two separate vacant homes by cutting the water lines and causing considerable damages. investigation is continuing.

12-06-06        11:49pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to an unattended death in Pilot Mound, CPR was administered by Pilot Mound first responders and deputy. 50 year old male was pronounced dead at the scene.

12-08-06        4:10am  Deputy Elsberry investigated a car deer accident 3 miles north of Boone on Nature Rd. Luann Elsberry 57 of Boone struck a deer causing $2,000.00 in damages to her 2002 Chevy. No injuries were reported.

12-09-06        12:07am  Jailers requested Medical assistance and Boone County Ambulance responded, had an inmate who was having a asthmatic reaction and needed medical attention.

12-09-06        5:15am  Deputy Middleton responded to the City of Madrid to assist the Madrid Officer with a suicidal individual who had just cut himself. Boone County Ambulance responded.

12-09-06        8:16am  Sgt Hurley responded to Ogden to assist the Ogden Officer with a Domestic situation, was all verbal at this time, no arrests made.

12-09-06        11:56pm  Deputy Middleton responded to Ames to Pick-up a prisoner Julio A. Gutierrez 29 of Ames on a Boone County warrant for possession of marijuana total bonds $13,000.00. Taken to the Boone County Jail.

12-13-06        6:55am  Christopher Miller 20 of Pilot Mound turned himself into the Sheriff's Office on  a Boone County Warrant for Burglary Bond $7,,500.00.

12-15-06        12:35pm  Sgt Hurley made a traffic stop in Boxholm, Driver Louis Mitchell 42 of Lanyon Iowa charged with driving under suspension, no insurance and operating a vehicle with stolen license plates. Vehicle was impounded.

12-16-06        1:31am  Deputy Middleton responded to a mobile home in the 6100 block of West Lincoln way, on a complaint of a domestic situation, the male party had left the area, and female also wanted to leave the home to stay with a relative in Ames. No charges filed at this time.

12-16-06        11:25am  Sgt Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident 3 miles east of Boone on Highway 30.  Gabrielle Putzier 19 of Boone was west bound when she lost control and went into the north ditch and struck an embankment,, causing $5,000.00 in damages. No injuries were reported. Damages were to her 2004 Eclipse.

12-16-06        11:07pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to a single vehicle accident in the 2300 block of 320th Madrid, State Trooper completed the accident report. Benjamin Potter 18 of Kelley Iowa lost control and went into the ditch and wiped out a section of fence owned by Roger Harris. No injuries were reported.

12-17-06        3:33pm  Sumer Ford 29 of Boone turned herself into the Sheriff's Office on a Boone County Warrant for theft 5th, bond $250.00.

12-17-06        4:45pm   A witness called in to the Sheriff's Office reporting that he had seen three juvenile males dressed in black remove a curve ahead sign at 290th and V Ave. Witness said that they left in a white explorer. County Rd Dept, notified to replace sign.  Anyone with further information may call the Sheriff's Office

12-17-06        6:05pm  Boone County Ambulance driver reported that while responding to a medical call to Ogden that they struck 2 deer on Highway 30 1/2 mile from Noble Hills. They continued to respond. They had little damage to the Ambulance, deer could not be located.

12-17-06        11:23pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint of cattle out on the roadway at 255th and P Ave. Owner of the cattle Don Adams was notified.

12-18-06        11:09am Deputies assisted Story County Deputies on locating a gas drive off in Ames, vehicle was located in Ames.

12-18-06        12:56pm  Deputy Dominick and Rohden responded to a personal injury accident at R Ave and 190th. Allison W. Cobb 19 of Boone east bound on 190th when she lost control and the vehicle entered the north ditch striking a utility pole and rolling. Cobb was ejected from the vehicle. Cobb was taken by Boone County Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital and later air lifted to Mercy in Des Moines. Her vehicle received $4,000.00 in damages.

12-18-06        3:19pm Deputy Rohden responded to a residence on Owl Ave on a complaint of theft for jewelry from the residence. Turned out items were taken by a family member and now have been returned.

12-18-06        6:21pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a family dispute in the 2100 block of Owl Ave. Matter was resolved by the time Deputy arrived.

12-18-06        9:32pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 30 east of Mile Marker 136. Vehicle was in the medium with no one around. Owner was contacted and vehicle removed the following day.

12-19-06       5:42am  Deputy Elsberry responded to the 100 block of 325th for a driver who had called stating he clipped a car that was sitting on the side of the roadway. Vehicle was towed for being a traffic hazard. No injuries were reported.

12-19-06        6:00am  Deputy Dominick responded to a personal injury accident in the 1800 block of Highway 30. Janis Smith 64 of Webster City was west bound on 30 when she lost control of her vehicle and entered the north ditch and rolling her vehicle. Smith was transported to the Boone County Hospital by Ambulance. Damages est. at $15,000.00 to her vehicle.

12-20-06        3:54pm  Detective Kendall and Boone Officer Tasler arrested an Anthony L. Godwin 34 of Boone on a Boone County warrant for failure to appear. Probation revocation, bond $10,000.00.

12-20-06       6:13pm Deputy Dominick responded to an incompete 911 int he 1100 block of 240th. Individual there had accidentally dialed wrong number.

12-20-06        10:19pm  Deputy Ponitu investigated an accident on 216th drive near the Des Moines river bridge. James Gibson 17 of Woodward was west bound on 216th drive, when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer, then lost control and went into the north ditch. $1,000.00 in damages were reported to his vehicle.

12-21-06        12:23am  Deputy Pontius cited a Kristopher D. Palmer 19 of Polk City, Jesse Hayes 19 of  Madrid. and Melanie Ayerson 17 of Polk City for under age possession of alcohol in the 200 block of east 3rd street, Madrid.

12-23-06        1:52am  Deputy Middleton responded to a report of a vehicle stalled in the middle of the road in the 700 block of Nature Rd. Caller nearly struck the vehicle as it was on a curve. Deputy located and assisted getting it off the roadway.

12-23-06        1:45am Deputy Elsberry responded to a death notification upon request from Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

12-23-06        6:27am  Sgt Hurley investigated an accident at the intersection of 22nd and Marion. Zachary Fox 24 of  Paton was west bound on 22nd, when he became distracted and missed the T intersection going off into the ditch and through a farm fence. Fox was cited for failure to maintain control. Estimated Damages $4050.00. No injuries reported.

12-24-06        2:10pm  Deputy Rohden arrested a Erik J. Murken 29 of Boone for Public Intoxication 2nd Offense after reports of a vehicle in the ditch and other reports of an individual walking along the roadway in the 700 block of 280th St.

12-24-06        11:20pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint of a child abuse. Some of the allegation were recanted by the caller after Deputy arrived, investigation continuing.

12-25-06        7:08am  Deputy Pontius assisted in a civil matter regarding the custody of children.

12-26-06        3:11am  Deputy Elsberry assisted the ambulance with a medical call on a train stopped at the R Ave crossing. Individual on the train suffered from possible food poisening.

12-26-06        8:37am  Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint of cattle loose in the area of the 188th Rd and E26. Received second call upon his arrival. Cattle belong to McPherson's in the area and were rounded up.

12-26-06        11:53am  Sgt Hurley responded to a house fire at 1403 310th St, Woodward. Woodward and Madrid Fire Depts. responded along with Search and Rescue and Boone County Ambulance. House received substantial damages, and belongs to Randy Lincoln of that address, Red Cross was notified for assistance.

12-28-06        7:50am  Sgt Hurley responded to a compliant by Steve Bolton that he had just chased a possible burglar suspect from a machine shed on his property in the 1000 block of L Ave, Boone.   Suspect described as a late 20's early 30's approx. 6'3 medium build white male that had fled on foot into the woods. At this time nothing reported missing.

12-28-06        8:06am  Sgt Hurley responded to a compliant by Tom Hadaway of Rural Madrid that someone had broken off a padlock and stole tools from a work van at a construction site int he 1300 block of 230th. Investigation continuing.

12-28-06        9:43am  Sgt Hurley responded to the 900 block of 320th Woodward area to deliver a death message.

12-28-06        12:55pm  Sgt Hurley responded to a medical assist in the 2300 block of 210th, Boone. Child was having an allergic reaction to dairy. Boone County Ambulance responded.

12-29-06        5:16am  Deputy Middleton investigated a two vehicle accident 2 miles East of Ogden on Old 30.  Kaynealann McCoy 48 of Ogden was following another vehicle east bound when a deer ran out in front of the front vehicle operated by Brandi Disbrowe 27 of Ogden. When Disbrowe hit her brakes she was struck from behind by the McCoy vehicle. No injuries were reported. damages were est. at $2,000.00 to tMcCoy's 2005 Impala, and $3,000.00 to Disbrowe's 1994 Oldsmobile. Disbrowe was cited for no insurance.

12-29-06        1:44pm  Sgt Hurley responded to a car fire in the 600 block of 290th St.  Timothy Hartman called 911 to report that his vehicle was on fire on the roadway.  Boone County Ambulance and Ogden Fire responded, the fire had spread to a field near by. No injuries were reported. The Driver Timothy Hartman 17 of Rippey was arrested for driving while license revoked, and suspension, and no insurance, and also expired registration to his 1994 Chevy Pick-up.

12-29-06        7:35pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to a 911 call that had gone into Dallas County claiming to have a domestic situation by Cell phone, tower indicated the location to be in the 1600 block of U Ave. Deputy arrived and discovered that this location was not correct.

12-29-06        8:43pm  Deputy Elsberry investigated a car deer accident in the 1700 block of 210th. Driver Kelly Buck 39 of Boone reported hitting a deer causing $900.00 in damages to his 1999 Chevy Pick-up. No injuries were reported.

12-31-06  The Afternoon on this date were several reports of vehicles in the Ditch through the County, all minor damages if any and no injuries were reported.
