12-01-05        11:06am  Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint that a vehicle that had gone into ditch earlier and owner was having towed had been vandalized. Window had been broken out, not sure if anything missing other than a pair shoes. Owner of Dodge Stratus is Tracie Lucero of Ogden, vehicle was in the ditch on Highway 30 east of the River bridge.

12-01-05        1:56pm  Deputy Elsberry investigated a two vehicle accident 3 miles West of Ames at Y Ave and 190th.  Abigail J. Martin 23 of Boone was attempting to stop at the stop sign on 190th, but slid through the stop sign and struck a south bound vehicle operated by Richard J. Stubberud 31 of Webster City. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $800.00 to Martin's 1993 Eagle and $400.00 to Stubberud's 2004 Chevy Pick-up.

12-01-05        2:57pm  Deputy Elsberry investigated a vehicle that had gone into the ditch on Old 30 just west of Boone. Only minor damages were reported to a 1989 Buick, operated by Frank Ayersman 62 of Ogden. No injuries were reported.

12-01-05        3:24pm  Deputy Elsberry investigated a two vehicle accident 1.5 miles East of Boone on R Ave.  Tony M. Vandarwarka 37 of Boone was backing out a driveway and struck a south bound vehicle in traffic operated by Cody Bass 23 of Boone. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $400.00 to Vandarwarka's 1988 Chevy Pick-up and $1,500.00 to Bass' 2004 Ford Pick-up.

12-02-05        8:39am  Sgt Hurley and Deputy Mitchell responded to a complaint of a parent having problems with a 14 year old who bolted from the residence south of 30 on Quill Ave. The child had ran into the woods with no proper winter gear. Deputies found the boy and had an ambulance transport him to the Hospital in Boone. First to check for possible frost bite and related problems and then to place the child.

12-02-05        4:30pm  Deputy Elsberry investigated a two vehicle accident on 130th and Carlson St, in Pilot Mound. Adam W. Gildea 27 of Pilot Mound had gone through a stop sign and struck a Pritchard Brothers Service truck operated by David D. Hutzell 39 of Boone. Gildea's 1986 Bronco received $3,000.00 in damages While the service a truck a 2001 GMC Pick-up received $4,000.00 in damages. No injuries were reported. Gildea was cited for no insurance.

12-03-05        8:14pm  Deputy Dominick responded to a complaint of a semi that has been parked onthe roadway a couple of nights in the 800 block of 320th Woodward, Operator was located and told to move the Semi off the roadway or it could be towed as traffic hazard.

12-03-05        830pm  Deputy Dominick had a vehicle towed that was abandoned along highway 30 and Montana. The vehicle a 1994 Dodge Caravan registered to a individual in Grand Jct had expired plates.

12-04-05        2:33pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a domestic situation in Fraser, Both parties reported a verbal argument only, and that they would be able to handle situation. Everything appeared calm when deputy left the area.

12-04-05        5:56pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a complaint of car deer accident at Highway 30 and Montana Rd.  Barb Halverson was operating a 2005 Ford, when she struck a deer in traffic. Vehicle received damages to the windshield, under $1,000.00 in damages, and no injuries were reported.

12-05-05        6:19am  Deputy Elsberry responded to Madrid and assisted the State Patrol and had Madrid P.D. called out with a personal injury accident in the City Limits on Highway 17 in the 400 bock of South Kennedy. One female operator from Boone died at the Scene of the head on collision.  State Patrol will complete the report.

12-05-05        8:15am  Sheriff Fehr arrested an Ashley Jackson 18 of Boone who turned herself into the Jail on a Boone County Warrant bond $2000.00

12-05-05        1:59pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a complaint that the Boys and Girls Home had a child ou tof control and needed assistance. he 10 year old child was talked to and was able to return home on bus after he calmed down.

12-05-05        3:17pm  Sgt Moore arrested a Robert Webb 39 of Boone, Webb was arrested at the Boone Hotel on a warrant for delivery of meth and marijuana, bond $80,000.00.

12-06-05        8:01am  Deputy Mitchell arrested a Benjamin Yungclas 19of Boone who turned himself into the jail on a Boone County Warrant, Bond $350.00.

12-06-05        8:39am  Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint by Chris Grabau of the Logansport area that someone had gone into the ditch and damaged his fence along 198th Rd.  There was $100.00 damages to the fence and $700.00 to a 2000 Oldsmobile owned by Steven Darby. of Boone.

12-07-05        9:30am  Sheriff Fehr and Detective Kendall executed a writ of Replevin at 1475 263rd Ln, Madrid, this was for a vehicle. The vehicle was not on the premises and recipient of the writ said that the vehicle was still in Colorado.

12-07-05        7:03pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to an alarm sounding in the 1200 block of XE Place, Auto truck repair center, was a false alarm.

12-08-05        7:12am  Deputy Kendall investigated a vehicle in the ditch on the waterworks hill on E26.  A van had slid into ditch with no one around, there was no reported damages.

12-08-05        11:08am  Deputy Kendall responded to a complaint of a straight truck in the medium on Highway 30 near Ogden, Truck had no damages and was towed out after snow fall had diminished around 1:15pm. No injuries reported.

12-08-05        11:17am  Beth A. Brannan 28of Boone came into the Sheriff's Office to report that she had put her vehicle in the ditch on the Y Camp Rd 166th Dr.  Deputy Kendall investigated and found out that the accident took place around 9:45am. Brannan west bound negotiating a curve when she lost control on the snow packed roadway and went into the ditch rolling her 1999 Mercury Cougar. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $7,000.00 to her car and $300.00 to Guard posts that she broke off on her way into the ditch.

12-08-05        8:08pm  Jonathan A. Strabley 25 of Boone turned himself into the Sheriff's Office on a warrant, bond $7,500.00 for O.W.I. charge.

12-09-05        1:03pm  Deputy Kendall assisted a stalled motorist on Highway 30 near United Community, vehicle had a battery blow up and needed a wrecker.

12-10-05        6:00am  Deputy Naeve investigated a car deer accident in the 1400 block of Highway 210 west of Madrid.  Victoria L. Severson 47 of Luther struck a deer causing $1,200.00 in damages to her 2003 Saturn, no injuries were reported.

12-10-05        11:50am  Deputy Naeve investigated a two vehicle accident in the 2000 block of 220th, Eric J. Peterson 28 of Boone was east bound when apparently he drifted over into the other lane and struck anothe east bound vehicle, operated by Mark Patton 23 of Scott City Kansas. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $400.00 to Patton's 2006 Chevy, and $2,000.00 to Peterson's 1996 Dodge Neon.

12-10-05        7:29pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a complaint of a Semi sitting along the roadside in the 2000 block of 210th, Boone, and could be road hazard with icy road conditions.  When Deputy ran the plates he found out that it had been reported stolen out of Story County. Vehicle was impounded for further investigation.

12-11-05        2:43am  Deputy Middleton responded to a single vehicle roll over at 160th and Y Ave, Ames.  Driver Jessica L. Leininger 21 of Boone lost control on the ice covered roadway and rolled 3 times into the ditch. Minor injuries were reported, although Leinenger refused treatment, damages were est at $16,000.00 to her 2004 Pontiac.

12-11-05        9:47am  Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint of an abandoned trailer left in the middle of the roadway on Y Ave. A Story County Deputy was at the scene, as they had a trailer stolen from a construction site in their County, this was the same trailer it had been broken into and contents stolen, investigation will be completed by Story County as trailer was taken from that county at a Construction site.

12-11-05        4:44pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a complaint that a woman was found by a motorist along the roadway flagging down vehicles at highway 30 and X Ave. Deputy located the female and arrested for public intoxication, she was identified as Karen Young 43 she gave no address.

12-12-05        1:26pm  Sgt Moore arrested a Rodney L. Kaesser 43 of Boone at 1427 Prairie St, on a Boone County Warrant for Delivery of Meth X2 and possession of meth.

12-12-05        6:40pm  Deputy Pontius investigated a van deer accident in the 1300 block of highway 30, Brad Johnson 45 of Boone struck a deer in the west bound lanes, causing $4,000.00 in damages to his 1996 Ford Aerostar. No injuries were reported.

12-13-05        5:15am  Deputy Kendall investigated a single vehicle accident 2.5 miles North of Boone on Nature Rd.  Jeffrey Weber 18 of Stratford was south bound when a deer ran out in front of him causing him to swerve and loose control, and go into the ditch and strike a utility pole. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $2,500.00 to his 1993 Buick, and $1,100.00 to a Midland power pole.

12-13-05        1:39pm  Deputy Kendall received a call from staff at the Mercy West Urgent care unit in Des Moines about about a dog bite that had occurred in Boone County. Information was handed over to the Boone County Humane Society for further investigation.  Dog bite took place in the 1500 block of 331 Dr, Madrid.

12-13-05        11:33pm  Des Moines P.D. informed Boone County that they just completed a foot chase and had arrested a Edward C. Walls 40 of West Ames they had charges on him and we had a warrant for Possession of meth with the intent to deliver, bond $50,000.00.

12-14-05        12:43am  Deputy Pontius responded to a single vehicle accident on E18 Twister Hill.  Driver and or owner of the vehicle was not located, no injuries were reported, investigation continuing, there were damages to a 2003 Chevy Pick-up.

12-14-05        2:03pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint of the theft of stereo equipment stolen from a walkout basement in the 600 block of V Ave.  Investigation continuing into the theft of $1,500 in equipment since the night before.

12-15-05        11:15am  Sgt Hurley assisted the Boone Police with an investigation to possible drugs, Marijuana were to be located a residence in Rural Pilot Mound.  Central Iowa Task Force was also involved in investigation that began at the Boone High School involving students exchanging the drug at the School. investigation continuing.

12-15-05        6:29pm  Deputy Rohden investigated a single vehicle roll-over 1.5 miles East of Boone on Highway 30.  Matt M. Spurgeon 26 of Boone was west bound near highway 17 when he lost control on the slick road service and rolled his vehicle into the median. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $6,000.00 to his 2000 ford ranger.

12-16-05        6:04am  Deputy Steve Middleton while on routine patrol struck a deer in the 600 block of Montana Rd, causing $2,000.00 in damages to a 2005 Ford Patrol Unit. No injuries were reported. Sgt Hurley investigated accident.

12-16-05        9:13am  Sgt Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident 3 miles East of Boone at highway 30 and 17.  Aree Baker 38 of Boone was east bound when she lost control on the snow and ice and rolled her vehicle into the median. Baker was taken by Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital for treatment. Damages were est at $6,000.00 to her 2003 Ford Focus.

12-16-05        11:33am  Sgt Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident 3 miles east of Boone on Highway 30.  Martha A. Abrams 20 of Iowa City was west bound when she lost control on the snow and ice went into the median and through a median cross over road and back into the median. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $2,000.00 to her 2002 Chrysler.

12-16-05        6:02pm  Deputy Rohden investigated a tow vehicle accident 5 miles east of Luther at E57 and X Ave.  Eric Mathre 41 of Madrid was south bound on X Ave, failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a west bound vehicle operated by Randy Ober 30 of Boone.  Ober was airlifted to Mercy In Des Moines, and Mathre was takne by ambulance to the Boone County Hospital. Damages were est at $5,000.00 to Ober's 1988 Ford F-250 Pick-up and $5,000.00 to Mathre's 1985 Ford Bronco. Investigation continuing.

12-17-05        3:45am  Deputy Middleton investigated a single vehicle accident 6 miles east of Boone in the 1000 block of V Ave.  Justin V. Malm 19 of Ames was west bound and turning north onto V Ave when he lost control on the snow and ice and rolled his vehicle into the ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $2,500.00 to his 1997 Ford Explorer.

12-18-05        2:36pm  Deputy Rohden investigated a single vehicle roll-over 2.5 miles East of Boone on new 30.  Kathrine M. Norlin 19 of Ames was east bound when she lost control on the snow and ice and rolled into the south ditch. A passenger Carlie Reicken 20 was transported to the Boone County Hospital by Ambulance. Damages to the Norlin's 1996 Toyota were est at $3,000.00.

12-19-05        11:21am  Detective Kendall began an investigation of the theft of two guns from a garage somtime since October of this year. Theft occurred in Luther. Investigation continuing.

12-19-05        6:04pm  Deputy Elsberry investigated a car deer accident 1 mile east of Ogden on New 30.  Stanley T. Lingren 57 of Pilot Mound struck a deer causing $3,000.00 in damages to his 1998 Ford. No injuries were reported.

12-20-05        12:24am  Deputy Pontius observed a vehicle on Radar traveling 90mph east bond on E26. When he began to follow the vehicle to make a traffic stop the vehicle continued through a stop sign at a T intersection at E26 and R38 and into a field where it stopped. The driver Sandra J. Hines 45 of Stanhope was arrested for Speeding and O.W.I. 1st Offense. Hine's vehicle a 1999 Buick regal sustained $1000.00 in damages.

12-20-05        8:05am  Sgt Hurley responded to a single vehicle accident on highway 30 east bound lanes.  Vehicle operated by Cynthia L. Munyon 46 of Des Moines lost control and struck guard rail.  Damages were under $1,000.00 to her 1989 Pontiac, Munyon was cited for for failure to maintain control.

12-20-05        8:47pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint that there was vehicle that was hung up on the tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad, on the Coal Rd.  Railroad stopped traffic until rails could be cleared, Driver Christopher Zeitler 30 of Boone was cited for disobeying a traffic control device, as the road was marked closed. No injuries were reported.

12-20-05        10:26pm  Amy Hickcox 30 of Boone turned herself into the Boone County Jail on a Boone County Warrant for contempt of court, original charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Arrested by Deputy Pontius.

12-21-05        5:43pm  Deputy Rohden responded to a complaint by Thomas Smith of Rural Boone that he had a snowmobile stolen just in the last couple of hours from the 1600 block of 220th St. Snowmobile is a 1997 Polaris, also taken was a white snowmobile helmet, investigation continuing.

12-22-05        6:44am  Sgt. Hurley assisted a State Trooper with a single vehicle accident on Highway 30 near United Community. State Patrol will complete the report.

12-22-05        8:20am  Sgt. Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident 2 miles NW of Perry on 325th St.  Erin E. Helgren 22 of Jefferson was negotiating a curve on 325th traveling south and east when she lost control an the frost and struck a sign post on the shoulder of the roadway, damages were est at $2,500.00 to her 2001 Chevy. No injuries were reported.

12-22-05        8:50am  Sgt Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident 1.5 miles North of Boone on NAture Rd.  Michael D. Heslop 53 of Pilot Mound was south bound when he lost control on the frost and rolled his vehicle twice into the ditch. Heslop was treated for minor injuries at the Boone County Hospital, he was taken there by private vehicle. Damages to his 1998 Ford Ranger were est at $3,500.00.

12-23-05        8:49am  Deputy Elsberry investigated a single vehicle accident 2 miles NW of Boone on E26.  Mary F. Ellsbury 59 of Ogden was west bound on E26 when she lost control on the frost and rolled her vehicle into the north ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $6,000.00 to her 2003 Chevy Tracker.

12-23-05        9:48am  Deputy Kendall investigated a single vehicle accident on Montana Rd near the Memorial Gardens Cemetary. John F. Howell 24 of Boone was north bound when he lost control on the frost and put his vehciel into the ditch striking a utility pole. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $3,500.00 to his 1997 Buick, and no damages to the Midland power pole.

12-23-05        11:03pm  Detective Kendall responded to Polk County to assist with execution of a search warrant for stolen property.  Investigation continuing at this time with Ankeny P.D.

12-24-05        12:11am Deputy Dominick assisted a stalled motorist who had lost a tire in the 2300 block of West Lincoln way, Ames.

12-25-05        2:09am  Deputy Pontius responded to the Webster County Line to pick-up a prisoner arrested by Webster County on a Boone County Warrant.  Arrested and transported to the Boone County Jail was Gregory R. Roby 39 of Fort Dodge, warrant was for failure to appear, bond $12,500.00. Roby did have marijuana on his person as he was booked into the Jail. Additional charges pending.

12-25-05        8:15am  Sgt Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident 8.5 miles North of Ogden on H Ave.  Kathryn N. Dodson 42 of Dayton lost control on the frost and rolled her vehicle into the east ditch. Damages were est $1,500.00 to her 2002 Isuzu.  No injuries were reported.

12-26-05        12:10am  Deputy Middleton responded to a an alarm sounding at the Pannar Genetics on Montana Rd, false alarm.

12-26-05        12:14pm  Sgt Hurley responded to an accident that took place in the 800 block of 188th Rd, Boone.  Operator was Laurence Miller 60 of Boone. He did move his vehicle before Officer arrived, No accident report made. No injuries were reported, and damages were est. at $1,500.00 to his 1999 Ford.

12-26-05        10:29pm  Deputy Pontius investigated a two vehicle accident on Highway 17 and 315th.  Anton Olson 15 of Madrid was north bound on 17 and slowed to turn onto 315th when he was struck by another north bound vehicle that attempted to pass the Olsen vehicle. Second vehicle operated by Shane M. Auxier 31 of Boone.  No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $300.00 to Olson's 1992 Pontiac, and $1,000.00 to Auxier's 1993 Ford Taurus.  Auxier was cited for unsafe passing.

12-27-05        1:11am  Deputy Middleton assisted the State Patrol with a personal injury accident in the 1600 block of 334th Rd, Boone.  Driver was Teah R. Bollie 18 of Madrid she was taken to Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines with numerous injuries.  Accident report will be completed by the State Patrol.

12-27-05        6:45am  Sgt Hurley investigated a single vehicle roll-over 1/2 mile South of Fraser on Kale Rd.  Martin A. Duncan 23 of Pilot Mound was south bound on Kale when he lost control on the frost and rolled his vehicle into the east ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $3,000.00 to his 2003 Ford F150 Pick-up.

12-27-05        7:53am  Sgt Hurley investigated a three vehicle accident on Highway 17 near the Railroad tracks by West Central Co-op.  Bonnie Beal 56 of Boone was south bound on 17 stopped for train, and was beginning to move forward, when a second vehicle also south bound operated by Denny F. Rouse 68 of Webster City tried to brake to slow down, and then he was struck from the rear by another south bound vehicle, that pushed the Rouse vehicle into the rear of the Beal vehicle.  3rd vehicle operated by Lucas M. Lodermeier 23 of Ames. Injured was Betty Rouse 69 Webster City, passenger in the second vehicle. She was taken by Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital. Damages were est.  at $4,000.00 to Beal's 1999 buick, $15,000 to Rouse's 2005 Chrysler, and $4,000.00 to Lodermeier's 1996  Freightliner Semi.  he was also cited for failure to stop within assured clear distance.

12-27-05        9:29am  Sgt Hurley investigated a 2 vehicle accident north of Ogden on P70.  Mark A. Casey 27 of Ames was north bound when he slowed to read address sign and was rear ended by another north bound vehicle operated by Angela Hansen-Abbas 35 of Perry. No injuries were reported, damage were est. at $500.00 to Casey's 1994 Chevy Pick-up, and $5,000.00 to Hansen-Abbas's 2005 Pontiac.

12-27-05        5:12pm  Deputy Rohden investigated a single vehicle accident 3 miles NW of Boone on L Ave.  David L. Coghlan 40 of Boone was north bound when he lost control and rolled his vehicle into the ditch onto its top.  Coghan was taken to the Boone County Hospital.  damages were est. at $3,000.00 to his 1992 Mercury.

12-28-05        9:29am  Sheriff Fehr and Sgt Hurley executed a writ of replevin at 205 west 8th St. Boone. Furniture was removed by court order.

12-29-05        1:22am  Deputy Dominick responded to Highway 141 and 17 to meet a Urbandale Officer who had arrested a Melanie D. Bean 32 of Boone, she was arrested in Urbandale on a Boone County Warrant, bond $200.00 for theft 5th degree.

12-29-05        9:10am    Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint of a dog bite that occurred in the 2000 block of B Ave, Perry.  Anne Tague who was caring for dogs in that location was bitten by a dog belonging to James Smith Jr.  and was treated for the bite at the Dallas County Hospital.  Humane Society was called.

12-29-05        11:18am  Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint of hunters hunting too close to buildings in the 1700 block of peach ave.  Conservation Officer was contacted.

12-29-05        2:13pm  Deputy Rohden assisted the County Sanitation Dept. with investigation into garbage   dump in the county. Charges will be filed through the Sanitation Dept on all investigations when a suspect is developed.

12-30-05        8:15am  Deputy Elsberry investigated a single vehicle accident 5 miles NW of Woodward on L Ave.  Trisha M. Sams 32 of Woodward was north bound when she struck a patch of ice and then struck a mail box and landscaping in a yard at 2131 L Ave. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $4,000.00 to Sam's 2002 Chevy. $100/00 to mailbox and landscaping to James Grim Property.
