Hurley responded to a complaint by Jennifer Smalley of Rural Boone, that she had her purse stolen from her vehicle that was in her garage, cash and jewelry valued at over $5,000.00 was reported missing. She believes that this took place either Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, this week. Investigation continuing.

2-01-08        12:50pm  Sgt. Hurley responded to the Woodward Academy as an unknown substance was removed from a resident, that substance will be tested before further action will be taken.

2-01-08        8:51pm  Deputy Hoffman responded to ac Domestic situation in the 2100 block of 207th Place, Boone. Deputy spoke to both parties, and at this time no assaults have taken place, but were both told to seek Counseling or an attorney.

2-02-08        12:11am  Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop in the 600 block of Highway 30 driver Gary Garcia  22 of La Feria Texas, was cited for No drivers license, passenger Jeremiah R. James  25 of Huxley Iowa was arrested on a warrant for contempt of court, out of Carroll County Iowa., bond $1,193.00.

2-02-08        2:49am  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop int he 1700 block of Mamie in Boone, driver Justin L. Robinson 24 of Boone was arrested for O.W.I. 3rd.and excessive speed.

2-02-08        9:21am  Sgt. Hurley responded to 6100 block of Lincoln way in West Boone. Linda Bochmann reported that someone had ran into her Trailer Home at Lot 6. A neighbor had seen the incident take place between 7:30-8pm the night before, described a dark colored SUV, driven by Hispanic teenagers. damages est. at $1,000.00.

2-02-08        11:53pm  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Highway 30, driver Evan S. Safly 18 of Gibert was arrested for possession of marijuana, urine sample taken for testing at the DCI lab for possible additional charges.

2-03-08        5:45pm  Deputy Thompson responded to the Ledges State Park to look for a teenage boy who had been at the Park with his mother and younger Sister. Mother was teaching her daughter to drive when her son walked into the woods and got lost.  The teenager was found after a short search and using the cell phone he had on his person. Everything came out O.K.

2-03-08        8:56pm Deputy Spencer made a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Highway 30. Driver Zachary A. Thomas 18 of Dawson Iowa was arrested for Operating a non-registered vehicle, under age possession of alcohol, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A passenger Bradley S. Davisson 20 of Bouton was charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age. Thomas also had urine sample taken to the DCI Lab for testing and possible additional charges.

2-04-08        6:15am  Sgt. Hurley investigated a single vehicle roll-over 3.5 miles NW of Ogden on D Ave. Sandra G. Sobotka 57 of Boxholm was south bound on D when she lost control on the ice and rolled her vehicle into the East Ditch. Sobotka was taken by Boone Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident. Damages were est. at $2,800.00 to her 2000 Chevy S10 Pick-up.

2-04-08        8:00am  Sgt. Hurley responded to a two vehicle accident 1/4 mile South of Ogden on H Ave. Elizabeth A. Hallberg 26 of Ogden was stalled along the roadway off to the side of the roadway, when she was struck from behind by a north bound vehicle. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $500.00 to Hallberg's 1997 Cadillac, and $1,500.00 to a 2001 Honda Civic operated by Patricia Loaiza-Valdez 19 of Perry. Loaiza-Valdez was cited for no insurance.

2-04-08        12:11pm  Sgt Kendall investigated a complaint from a Boone County resident that had received an e-mail informing individual that he had to pay $15,000.00 to spare his life, as a hit contract had already been placed on his life and if he sent money, that would cancel the Hit. Sgt. Kendall was able to find out that this is another scam, and e-mail has actually caused persons to send in the money to cancel the Hoax Hit.

2-04-08        1:29pm  Chief Deputy Elsberry responded to Ames to pick-up a Tanna Daniels who was wanted on a Boone County warrant, bond $1,000.00, failure to appear on child support hearing.

2-05-08   4:41 p.m.   Deputy Thompson responded to a vehicle rollover on Highway 30, one quarter mile East of Highway 17. Ted Briggs of Red Oak lost control of a truck owned by State Of Iowa DOT due to icy road conditions and rolled into the ditch.  No injuries were reported.

2-6-08  7:54a.m.  Deputy Pontius arrested Christopher Hansen,18 of Boone at the Boone County Sheriff's Office on a warrant.

2-06-08  3:49 p.m.  A report was made of a vehicle going westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 30.  State, City and County responded to the area.  It appeared the vehicle went through the median and headed in the right direction.

2-06-08 4:02p.m.  Diane Schmidt reported her son went into a ditch one mile North of Highway 30 on Montana Road.  Nathan Daniel, of Boone, entered the ditch with the 1993 Ford truck he was driving, when a non contact vehicle came from a driveway and began to enter the road.  The truck struck a phone pole and a road sign. 

2-07-08        8:25pm  Deputy Pontius arrested a Mitchell D. Reagon 26 of Boone, Reagon had turned himself into the Sheriff's Office. The warrants were out of Ames and Staory County Bond was $2,000.00, failure to appear, original assault charge.

2-07-08        8:32pm  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Highway 30. Driver had no drivers license. Venessa M. Capi 29 of Des Monies was cited for no drivers License, The owner of the vehicle Jayne A. Ekis 56 of Harcourt was cited for allowing unauthorized driver to operate her vehicle.

2-08-08        6:43pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a possible suicide attempt in the 900 block of South Kennedy in Madrid. Individual had cut herself and ambulance transported to the Boone County hospital for treatment and evaluation.

2-09-08        1:55am  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop for speed in the 1800 block of Highway 17. Deputy found marijuana in the vehicle and a passenger Jeffrey J. Grossman 27 0f Ames was arrsted for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

2-09-08     8:13 a.m.  Sgt. Hurley found and assisted a stranded motorist within the 2200 blk. of East Mamie Eisenhower Ave.

2-09-08   8:39 a.m.  Sgt. Hurley found and assisted a stranded motorist within the 2300 blk. of 190th.

2-09-08  11:13 a.m.  Sgt. Hurley, Officer Jones, Boone County Hospital and Ogden Fire/Rescue responded to a rollover on D Ave. just North of 200th Street.  Cynthia Gay of Minnesota was Northbound on D Ave. and lost control from the surface conditions.  She was transported to Boone County Hospital.

2-09-08  2:33p.m.  Deputy Thompson responded to an accident  on Highway 169 .  Keith Ricklefs of Knierim, Iowa was stopped to check on a vehicle in the ditch. Catherine Stone of Perry attempted to slow down to assist and struck Ricklefs' 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer with her 2004 Nissan.

2-09-08 4:25 p.m. Deputy Thompson responded to an accident at Highway 169 and 300th.  Edna Arends of Indianola entered the ditch after attempting to go around a tow truck and losing control due to the icy conditions.  Arends was transported to the Boone County Hospital.

2-10-08 2:26 a.m.  Deputy Wingate found a vehicle in the ditch within the 1400 blk. of 250th.  Wingate arrested the driver, Timothy J. Glenn, 25, for Operating while intoxicated.  Deputy Hoffman assisted.

2-10-08 4:49 a.m.  Deputy Wingate stopped a vehicle at Story Street and Mamie Eisenhower Ave. in Boone.  Wingate arrested the driver, Daniel L. Reetz,20, of Boone for possession of a controlled substance.  Further charges are pending.

2-10-08        8:14a.m.  Sgt. Hurley, Boone County Hospital, Ogden Fire, Boxholm Fire, Pilot Mound Fire, and Dayton Fire responded to 187 H Ave. for a Hog confinement on fire.  The confinement was  destroyed and livestock were killed due to the fire.

2-11-08        7:26a.m. Deputy Pontius responded to E18 / East of the river bridge for a single vehicle accident.  Anthony Williams of Pilot Mound was eastbound on E-18 and lost control of his 2002 Dodge truck, causing him to enter the ditch and strike a tree. 

2-11-08         8:08 a.m.  Deputy Pontius investigated a hit and run / near head on collision , which occurred one mile south of E-18 on Highway 169.  A white semi pulling a grain hopper crossed the center line and struck a straight truck, owned by Pickett Salvage and continued Northbound.

2-12-08        7:38a.m.  Deputy Pontius responded to the 700 blk. of Y Ave. for an accident .  Bryan Lee, of Story City, was stopped on Y Ave. for a school bus.  Samantha Pederson,  of Story City, driving a 2001 Dodge truck, attempted to stop, but rear ended the 2005 Chevrolet truck Lee was driving. 

2-13-08        2:49pm  Deputy Pontius arrested a Joe Mataya 57 of Madrid on a warrant out of Boone County for probation revocation, original charge OWI, Bond $1,000.00.

2-13-08        7:44pm  Deputy Hoffman located an individual walking along the Highway on Highway 30 west of Quill, was headed for Madrid. Deputy gave individual a ride due to cold weather.

2-14-08        3:40pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a single vehicle accident 2 miles west of Boone on Old 30. Richard W. Puski 17 of Boone was west bound when he lost control on the snow, went into the north ditch and struck a tree. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $10,000.00 to a 2003 Nisson.

2-15-08        11:03pm  Deputy Wingate assisted a Boone Officer with an O.W.I. arrest in the 1100 block of 2nd Street, Boone.

2-16-08        12:51am  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Highway 30. One passenger Adam J. Pfannes 19 of Boone was charged with under possession of alcohol.

2-16-08        2:11am  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Highway 30. Driver Jared W. Gutknecht 23 of Cedar Falls Iowa was arrested for Speeding and O.W.I. 1st Offense.

2-17-08        9:16am  Deputy Pontius assisted a stalled motorist just north of Dallas County line on Highway 169

2-17-08        12:52pm Deputy Pontius responded to an alarm sounding at Technochem International Inc, in the 900 block of Quartz, false alarm, no key holder responded.

2-17-08       1:23pm  Deputy Pontius investigated a single vehicle accident 1 mile West of Beaver on Highway 30. Yvonne M. Locke 32 of Jefferson was west bound when she lost control and rolled her vehicle into the north ditch. Injured was herself and passenger  1 year old Braden Gersema, both taken to the Greene County Hospital by ambulance. Damages to her 1990 GMC Safari were est. at $1,500.00.

2-17-08        5:20pm  Deputy Thompson investigated a single vehicle accident at 230th , 3/4 mile east of highway 17. Angela M. Robinson 26 of Boone had lost control and placed her vehicle into the ditch. Investigation continuing, no injuries were reported.

2-17-08        8:16pm Deputy Ellison responded to a complaint of a theft of target gift cards, valued at &900.00 taken from a residence in the 1100 block of 155th St, Boone. Investigation continuing.

2-18-08        9:52am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a fire at Westfield Apartments in West Ames. Apartment number 203 was reported on fire and bath tub was running and water all over the place. Kelley Fire and Boone Ambulance responded. Investigation continuing and fire being treated as an arson.

2-18-08        12:28pm  Deputy Pontius investigated a single vehicle accident 5 mils North of Ogden on E26. Sara C. Schrum 17 of Grand Junction Iowa was west bound when she struck a patch of ice and rolled her vehicle into the south ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $1,000.00 to her 2007 Ford Ranger.

2-18-08        2:15pm  Deputy Pontius investigated a single vehicle accident 8 miles NW of Ogden on E26. Brittany R. Mitchell 19 of Ogden was west bound when she struck a patch of ice and lost control rolling her vehicle into the south ditch. Mitchell was transported by Boone County Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital. Damages were est.at $1,000.00 to a 2000 Chevy Blazer.

2-18-08        3:11pm  Sgt. Kendall began an investigation of a custody problem between a divorced couple, turns out that the father violated a decree and removed a 10 year old  boy from the State of Iowa. An arrested warrant has been issued for Scott E. Craig 39 of Rapid City South Dakota The warrant is for violation of a custodial order dated 11/22/00, this is a Felony and Bond set at $5,000.00. Child may have been taken out of State as early as Friday Feb 15th after he had picked up the child for a visitation. 10 year old Channing is described as  a white male 5'1" 105 pounds brown hair and hazel eyes. South Dakota Authorities have been contacted and working closely with the Boone County Sheriff's Office.

2-18-08        10:18am Deputy Wingate assisted a stalled motorist with a flat tire at D Ave and 325th , Perry area.

2-19-08        10:00am  Rapid City South Dakota Contacted the Sheriff's Office that they had arrested Scott Craig 39 of their city on the Boone County warrant for violation of a custodial order, bond $5,000.00. now waiting for extradition proceedings. The 10 year old child involved in the case has been located and returned to his Mother from Boone County.

2-19-08        3:14pm  Deputy Pontius investigated a two vehicle accident on Highway 169 and 330th St. Joshua P. Hickie 30 of Urbandale was south bound on 169  and was struck from the east by an east bound vehicle operated by Keith F. Knight who had failed to stop at the stop sign. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $15,000.00 to Hickie's 2004 Nisson, and $4,500.00 to Knight's 2002 Mercury. Knight 74 of Woodward was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

2-21-08        2:52pm  Deputy Thompson responded to a complaint of horses running loose in the area of 23 260th St, Ogden, horse owner Steven Meister of Rural Rippey was notified, and horses rounded up.

2-21-08        11:07pm  Deputy Wingate responded to an ambulance assist in the 900 block of 222nd Drive, Ogden.

2-22-08        2:31pm  Deputy Thompson responded to a snowmobile accident which took place on the Des Moines River near the Old Highway 30 bridge. One male 27 of Boone was injured, Boone County Ambulance was on scene. State DNR will complete the accident report.

2-23-08        12:36am  Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch at Highway 30 and 230th, no damages or injuries were reported. Individual had stopped along the roadway to use cell phone and slid into the ditch.

2-23-08        9:39am Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of tools taken from a shed in the 1900 block of 240th. Jeff Moore reported several tools, last seen in the shed late November 2007, investigation continuing.

2-23-08        2:48pm Deputy Pontius investigated a single vehicle accident 1.5 miles East of Ogden on old 30. Esther B. Carlson 80 of Ogden was west bound when she apparently had a medical problem and drove off the roadway to the north side of the roadway and struck a tree. Carlson was transported to Mercy in Des Moines by air Ambulance. Damages were est at $10,000.00 to her 2004 Buick.

2-23-08        11:12pm  Deputy Wingate assisted a stalled motorist at 210 and Highway 17.

2-24-08        12:42am  Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop on Highway 30 in western Boone County. Driver was not intoxicated, although passengers Alexa R. Bancks 19 of Ames, Gregory W. Turner 19 of Boone, and Rachel A. Byrd 19 of Boone, all charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age. Another passenger Marissa S. Hagen 22 of Boone was charged with providing alcohol to under age individuals.

2-24-08        3:59am  Deputy Dominick responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch that had rolled at 130th and C Ave. No driver was located, vehicle was impounded for further investigation.  

2-24-08        10:48pm  Deputy Wingate responded to the 2000 block of 250th on an ambulance assist with a possible heart attack.

2-25-08        7:51am  Sgt. Hurley responded to an alarm sounding at Technochem International Inc, 900 block of Quartz, was a false alarm.

2-25-08        8:50am  Sgt. Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident 1/4 mile West of Fraser on Kale Rd. Rebecca R. Mayse 35 of Boone was going down hill and lost contorl on the icy road conditions and rolled her vehicle into the north ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est.at $8,500.00 to a 2002 Ford F150 Pick-up.

2-25-08        3:20pm Several vehicles were reported sliding into ditches throughout the County, no injuries were reported, this continued until around 8pm.

2-26-08        2:33pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a medical assist of an infant not breathing in the 1600 block of L Ave, Boone. Child was taken by ambulance and was breathing at time of transport.

2-26-08        2:44pm  Chief Deputy Elsberry investigated a single vehicle accident 1 mile West of Berkley on E57.  Esteban M. Baez 19 of Perry was west bound when he lost control and rolled his vehicle into the ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $2,500.00 to a 1998 Mercury.

2-26-08        4:02pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a Domestic situation at the Ogden High School, No Charges were filed at this time.

2-26-08        5:02pm  Deputy Pontius began an investigation of single vehicle roll-over at 205th and T Ave. Crystal M. Toms 18 of Boone rolled her 2001 Ford Explorer into the ditch. No injuries were reported, Damages were est. at $12,000.00

2-26-08        11:40pm  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop on 167th Place. Driver Dustin W. Arnold 23 of Story City was charged with driving while license suspended. Sarah C. Olson 19 of Ankeny was charged with allowing unauthorized person to operate her vehicle.

2-27-08        7:37am  Curtis Risdal 28 of Boone turned himself into the Sheriff's Office on a Boone County warrant, bond $1,000.00 for failure to appear.

2-27-08        4:23pm  Deputy Thompson investigated a tow vehicle accident on J Ave 3/4 mile north of 216th on the Humpback Bridge. Johnna C. Bonnell 17 of Boone was south bound on J going over the bridge in the middle of the roadway while a north bound vehicle operated by Michael Cooper 23 of Ogden also going over the bridge struck each other on the bridge head on. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $3,000.00 to Bonnell's 1996 Pontiac, and no damages to Cooper's 1990 Ford F250 Pick-up.

2-27-08        5:11pm  Detective Godzicki executed a search warrant at 227 Crawford Street, Boone. Stolen property was collected, and investigation is continuing, this is a result of an incident that took place in the 1100 block of 155th t, Boone on Feb 17th, 2008.

2-28-08        12:54am  Deputy Hoffman and Wingate responded to a complaint of a Union Pacific Railroad car on fire at the S Ave Crossing East of Boone. Car was full of metal shavings that had started on fire. Boone Fire along with Boone Police responded. Car was separated and pushed off to the east end of the rail yard in Boone.

2-28-08        7:40am  Sgt. Hurley investigated a two vehicle accident at 216th and Lotus Place, 1.5 miles West of Boone. James M. Smith 34 of Boone was south bound off of Lotus place and drove into the path of east bound vehicle on 216th, operated by Shane M. Gibbs 16 of Boone. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $1,000.00 to Smith's 1993 Lumina, and $500.00 to Gibbs' 1991 Cavalier.

2-28-08        4:44pm  Deputy Thompson made a traffic stop on the south side of Boone. Driver Steven C. Robinson 57 of Boone was arrested for driving while license barred

2-28-08        11:18pm  Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop at 315th and Highway 17 , Madrid. Operator Logan W. Pope 20 of Ames was charged with underage possession of Alcohol and speeding.

2-28-08        10:20pm  Deputy Hoffman located and arrested a John M. Norris 18 of Ames for O.W.I. 1st Offense after receiving lab results from an incident that took place on January 30th, 2008. Norris tested positive for operating while under the influence of marijuana.

2-29-08        7:25am  Deputy Pontius investigated a single vehicle accident on 210th [ old 30 ] east of Boone. Amanda M. Ristvedt 23 of Boone was east bound when she lost control on the frost and ice and rolled her vehicle into the south ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $1,000.00 to her 1999 Buick.

2-29-08        7:55am Deputy Pontius investigated two more vehicles that had slid into the ditch in the same area east of Boone on 210th. No injuries and damages under $1,000.00, road was closed off for a period of time as vehicles were unable to maintain control until it was treated.

2-29-08        5:32pm  Deputy Thompson arrested a Mark Sorenson 30 of Boone for driving while License suspended. Sorenson was observed by Deputy operating a vehicle in front of the Sheriff's Office.

3-01-08        3:30pm  Deputy Wingate assisted a Madrid Officer with a traffic stop, as drug paraparnilia was located, investigation completed by the Madrid Officer.

3-01-08        12:03pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a two vehicle accident that occurred at E57 and Highway 169. Henry J. Imberti 44 of Rural Boone, reported that he was involved in an accident and the second vehicle had left the scene, that second vehicle was located at Casey's Store in Ogden. That driver Bryan S. Holm 47 of Dallas Center was wanted by U.S. Marshalls. Holm's was taken into custody for U.S. Marshalls. Probation violation on weapons charges. Only minor damages were reported to the two vehicles involved and no one was injured.

3-02-08        3:06am Deputy Dominick responded to assist an Ambulance with a medical emergency at 414 E. Walnut Ogden.

3-02-08        11:01pm Deputy Dominick responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 30 by the Erickson curves, no damages or injuries were reported.

3-03-08        2:50pm  Deputy Pontius made an arrest at the Sheriff's Office of Jason Richeson 30 of Boone, warrant is out of Story County for escape, no bond. Held for Story County.

3-03-08        11:59pm  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Highway 30. Driver Benjamin E. Nelson 19 of Ames was charged with .02 violation and underage possession of Alcohol.

3-04-08        8:42am  Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint of a theft at 1313 Quill Ave, Boone. Reported stolen was an ATV from a shop, 2005 Polaris Sportsman, investigation continuing. Valued at $5,000.00.

3-04-08        6:07pm  Story County Sheriff's Deputy requested assistance as he was in pursuit of a White Mitsubishi from Story County and just entering Boone County on 170th and Y Ave, he was also blocked by a second vehicle described as a Red GMC Pick-up. Both vehicles were lost and Boone County Deputies were unable to locate.

3-04-08        9:17pm  Deputy Wingate responded to a complaint of loud music in Luther at 313 Bennett, Individuals will quiet down.

3-04-08        11:32pm  Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop at V Ave and 220th. Driver Justin M. Crooks 19 of Rural Boone was arrested for Driving while license suspended and possession of a controlled substance. Marijuana.

3-05-08        4:11pm  Deputy Thompson investigated a single vehicle accident at Highway 169 and 105th. Loren K. Helgevold 48 of Fort Dodge was north bound on 169 when he lost control on the snow and ice and over corrected and rolled his vehicle into the east ditch. Helgevold was taken to Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, by a Boone County Ambulance. damages were est. at $8,000.00 to his 2001 Chevy Van.

3-05-08        4:30pm  Deputy Thompson investigated a single vehicle accident on P70 and 105th, Tamara J. Platter 44 of Pilot Mound was north bound on P70 when she lost control on ice and rolled her vehicle into the east ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $10,000.00 to her 2004 Dodge Dakota Pick-up.

3-05-08        11:10pm Deputy Wingate responded to the 2100 block of Y Ave Slater on a medical assist, female was patient was transported By Mercy One Air Ambulance to Mercy in Des Moines.

3-06-08        4:05pm  The Sheriff's Office received word from Cherokee County Sheriff's Office that they had a arrested a Michael L. McRoy 44 on a Boone County Warrant, ,being held in Cherokee on their charges and will notify when ready for transport on Boone County charges.

3-06-08        5:31pm  Sgt. Kendall and Sheriff Fehr responded to a complaint of a possible suicide in the 2200 block of Otter Place Woodward. D.C.I. was dispatched for assistance in the investigation, but at this time all indication are individual died of self inflicted gun shot, Investigation continuing.

3-06-08        11:56pm  Deputy Wingate assisted a Madrid Officer with a disturbance call at Who's Lounge in Madrid on Highway 17.

3-08-08        1:53am  Deputy Wingate responded to assist the Madrid Officer with altercation that was taking place Who's Lounge in Madrid. No charges filed.

3-09-08        1:45am  Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of a passed out driver in a vehicle on T Ave, north of the railroad tracks. Driver Ahren R. Craven 33 of Badger Iowa was arrested for O.W.I. 1st Offense.

3-09-08        1:03pm  Sgt. Hurley responded to Ames to Pick-up a prisoner arrested by Ames P.D. on a Boone County warrant. Arrested was a Jamaine A. Simmons 20 of Ames, failure to appear, original charge of harassment, bond $500.00.

3-09-08        8:01pm  Deputy Hoffman investigated a single vehicle accident in the 2100 block of P54. Dena P. Clause 87 of Grand Jct. Iowa was north bound when she struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $1,500.00 to her 1999 Buick.

3-09-08        8:20pm  Deputy Pontius investigated a single vehicle accident 2 miles North of Ridgeport on Nature Rd. Justin P. Ronk 22 of Lehigh was north bound when he struck a deer in the roadway , causing $1,500.00 in damages to a 2006 Ford Escape, no injuries were reported.

3-09-08        11:09pm  Deputy Dominick responded to an alarm sounding at the Beaver West Central Co-op. Dallas and Green County were also notified, as door had been broken, but nothing reported stolen. Damages to door and locks estimated at $1,000.00. Investigation continuing.

3-10-08        5:38am  Deputy Dominick responded to an alarm sounding at Kinzler Construction in the 2300 block of 230th, Ames. Was an employee who had accidentally set alar off.

3-10-08        6:21am  Sgt. Hurley assisted a stalled motorist with a flat tire in the 900 block of T Ave, Boone.

3-10-08        9:14am Sgt. Hurley responded to Leather Specialties on Industrial Rd, Boone. Employee had inhaled a sulfide gas and needed medical assiatance, Boone Ambulance arrived on scene.

3-10-08        9:35am Sgt. Hurley responded to Kurrent Electric in the 2200 block of 229th Place, Ames, they reported $3,000.00 worth of copper pipe stolen over the week-end, investigation continuing.

3-10-08        4:12pm  Deputy Thompson made a traffic stop on Highway 30 west bound and SE Marshall, Boone. Driver Steven C. Robinson 57 of Boone was arrested for driving while license barred.

3-11-08        12:12am  Deputy Wingate responded to the 1800 block of J Ave, Ogden to assist an Boone County ambulance with a medical assist.

3-11-08        5:00pm  Deputy Thompson charged Christian Meloy 14 of Boone with theft of services and cell phone. Over $700.00 in phone bills were accumulated after he allegedly took a cell phone from a Boone Middle School bus. This theft was reported on February 28th.

3-11-08        6:55pm  Deputy Wingate began an investigation of a theft, Kara Henze of Rural Madrid reported that her Brushmower was taken from her property located in the 1800 block of Q Ave, investigation continuing.

3-11-08        7:51pm  Deputy Wingate responded to a complaint of a possible meth lab found in a ditch on V Ave, near the Iowa State Research buildings. Items located were not a meth lab, but junk someone had thrown.

3-11-08        7:50pm  Deputy Thompson began an investigation of the theft of jewelry, camera and cash, stolen from a residence int he 1500 block of X Ave, Ames. Investgiation continuing.

3-12-08        1:34am  Deputy Hoffman responded to the area of South Story and 30 after Boone P.D. had received a complaint of a gas drive off at Kum and Go at 315 Story St, Boone. Two males had received $106.00 in fuel for a silver and blue extended cab ford, vehicle was located and chase began west bound on highway 30. Boone Patrol cars were also in pursuit. Vehicle was stopped just west of the river bridge on 30. Arrested was Joshua L. Courtney 16 of Boone for theft of the fuel and eluding.

3-12-08        4:02pm  Deputy Thompson investigated a motorcycle accident on Highway 144 1/8th of mile west of 325th. Carl W. Stilwell 67 of Perry was west bound on 144 when he lost control went off the roadway and into the ditch on the curve. Stilwell was taken by Dallas County Ambulance to Mercy in Des Moines. Damages were est. at $2,500.00 to his 2005 Yamaha.

3-12-08        6:04pm  Deputy Thompson made a traffic stop on Highway 30 near United Community School. Driver Aaron Wrabek 36 of Ames was charged with driving while License suspended, and expired registration on his vehicle.

3-12-08        9:56pm  Deputy Wingate investigated a two vehicle accident at the driveway of the Fareway Ware House on Industrial Rd. Jamie N. Larson 32 of Boone reported that he had stopped at the driveway intersection, another east bound vehicle slowed as if to turn into the driveway, Larson then proceeded and the second vehicle then struck him and took off, the second vehicle could not be located  Second vehicle described as a Silver Dodge Ram Dually Pick-up, Damages to Larson's 1998 Ols were est. at $2,000.00.

3-13-08        5:20am  Deputy Dominick investigated a car deer accident 2 miles SE of Fraser at 170th and  L Ave. Michael D. Flaherty 30 of Boone was east bound when a deer ran out in front of him, Flaherty then swerved to avoid hitting the deer and ran off the road, causing $5,000.00 in damages to his 1996 Jeep. No injuries were reported.

3-14-08        The Boone County Sheriff's Office received another complaint of an International Lotto Scam. This is a mailing from Madrid Spain indicating that the person receiving the letter has won several hundred thousand, this is a scam with an attempt to get Banking information. You can turn the information over to local Law Enforcement or discard.

3-14-08        7:37pm  Deputy Naeve responded to the Ledges State park area on a cell phone complaint that an individual was stuck on a roadway and unable to get up a hill, he did not know for sure where he was. Deputy Located the driver in the Ledges on the far south side unable to get traction to go up the hill, a wrecker was called to assist him. Operator was a Rollie Warmka of Easton Minn.

3-15-08        2:19am  Deputy Naeve made a traffic stop on Highway 30 and R Ave. Driver Edwin J. Elsner 22 of Boone was arrested for O.W.I. 2nd Offense.

3-15-08        4:33am Deputy Hoffman investigated a two vehicle accident east of Boone on the Erickson curves. Ryan N. Simons 20 of Grimes was east bound when he changed lanes and struck a semi also east bound, operated by Thomas W. Rhoades 56 of Des Moines. Simons 2008 Ford Explorer was totalled, while the Semi a 2003 Freightliner received $100.00 in damages. Simons was arrested for O.W.I. 1st, failure to maintain control, and under age possession of alcohol. No injuries were reported.

3-15-08        5:25am  Sgt. Hurley investigated a car deer accident 1.5 miles South of Pilot Mound on I Ave. Brenda J. Myers 42 of Pilot Mound struck a deer, causing $1,000.00 in damages to her 1999 Chevy Lumina. No injuries were reported.

3-15-08        9:09pm  Deputy Pontius assisted an individual who positively identified a water tank that had been stolen from the Farm and Feed Store in Ogden last summer. The Tank was located at 1461 F Ave, investigation continuing, and tank taken to Ogden.

3-16-08        2:18am  Deputy Hoffman responded to Madrid to asist the Madrid Officer who had requested help with altercation that was taking place at State and 3rd in Madrid, several individuals were in the area. Madrid P.D did take one person into custody. Deputies arrested a Allison M. Long 20 of Perry, Jeffrey A. Krider 18 of Madrid, Nathan D. Strickland 18,  Abby J. Shivvers 20 Woodward, Maggie L. Wickett 18 of Madrid, Mitchell N. Sheffer 20 of Madrid all charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age.

3-16-08        10:27am  Sgt. Hurley responded to a Domestic situation in Boxholm, parties involved had agreed to separate for the day and no charges or assaults had taken place.

3-16-08        4:00pm  Deputy Thompson responded to a complaint that Kris' Corner in Boxholm had been broken into, missing was game tickets and money, investigation continuing..

3-16-08        10:22pm  Deputy Wingate responded to the Woodward Academy as they had a 16 year old that was bleeding with a head injury, turned out to be nose bleed, individual was taken to Dallas County Hospital for treatment.

3-17-08        4:41am Deputy Hoffman located a vehicle in the ditch in the 1800 block of Highway 30 west bound. No one was around the vehicle, several beer cans were in and around the vehicle, vehicle had received approximately $1,000.00 in damages, registered owner of the vehicle was located in Boone, and informed officer that her 19 year old daughter had the vehicle was out with friends, investigation is continuing, vehicle was impounded. After further investigation the driver of that vehicle was Ryan N. Coutentos 24 of Cedar Rapids, Coutentos was located later in the day and reported that he lost control, he was charged with failure to maintain control, damages were est. at $1,500.00 to a 1997 Pontiac.

3-18-08        2:04am  Deputy Hoffman found an open door at the Perry Golf and Country Club, key holder notified, nothing reported missing at this time, appears just forgot to lock door.

3-18-08        2:18am Deputy Wingate investigated a couple of suspicious persons in a vehicle in the 400 block of 8th St, Boone, Parking lot. Charged with possession of drug paraparnilia were Justin M. Letina, 18 of Ogden, and Randy K. Witt 20 of Stratford.

3-18-08        3:14am Deputy Hoffman investigated a car deer accident in the 1000 block of Y Ave, Boone. Eric A. Enfield 29 of Boone was south bound when a deer ran out in front of him causing $1,000.00 in damages to his 1999 Plymouth, No injuries were reported.

3-18-08        2:30pm  Deputy Pontius conducted tobacco purchases in Businesses in the Madrid Area, All complied Businesses that were checked and in compliance were VFW, Market of Madrid, Git N Go, and Casey's.

3-19-08        6:00pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of two goats running loose in the area of 1200 block of 220th, Boone Area Humane Society was called they were unable to capture the goats, the Owner is John Wilson

3-20-08        9:31am Sgt. Hurley spoke to a Lawrence Bice of Ogden who had reported that he had 4 wheeler taken from his place in the 2000 block of H Ave. Investigation continuing.

3-20-08        11:15am  Sgt. Hurley investigated a two vehicle accident  4.5 miles west of Luther on 270th. Keith A. Eppert 51 of Luther was was operating a County Maintainer he was west bound an making a left turn, when another west bound vehicle operated by Jerry Garner 64 of Perry was attempting to pass the maintainer, no contact was made but the second vehicle a Semi jacked knifed in the intersection. No injuries were reported, very little damage was reported to the 1999 Caterpillar Maintainer or the 1999 Volvo Semi Tractor. Eppert was cited for Failure to signal, and Garner was cited for unsafe passing.

3-20-08        10:50pm  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop at Highway 30 and W Ave, Ames. Driver Brandy Holms 21 of Ames was cited for driving while License suspended.

3-21-08        11:19am  Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint by Enterprise Electric that they had been broken into at the Farm Expo Site East of Boone. They had copper wiring  and brass clamps taken from to trailer areas, total value of items stolen est. at $2,050.00. Investigation continuing.

3-22-08        3:04pm  Deputy Thompson took a report of the theft of 3 chain saws and set of ramps from 402 I Ave, Pilot Mound, owner Jarrad  Fisher of that address.

3-23-08        8:26pm  Deputy Wingate responded to Ames to assist after a chase with a 4 wheeler by Ames P.D. at the Soccer Fields on Duff. 4 Wheeler was left behind and individual fled on foot, Boone County K-9 used to track individual to Wilson Cadillac, it appears a vehicle was there for suspect to flee in. Investigation continuing. 4 Wheeler will be held for Prints as may belong to a Boone County Case. Case that 4 wheeler recovered from dated back to March 4th at 1313 Quill Ave, Investigation continuing.

3-24-08        6:27pm  Deputy Thompson responded to a fire alarm at the Grand Community School in Boxholm, was a false alarm.

3-24-08        7:57pm  Deputy Thompson responded to 1100 block of Harrison St. Boone, to assist Boone Officer with an altercation taking place in that area with several young people with possible baseball bats. Boone P.D. did take some people into custody.

3-25-08        4:11pm  Deputy Thompson responded to a disturbance with an individual who was having some type of emotional break down in the 700 block of 330th, Woodward. Deputy requested assistance and parmeidics from Dallas County Hospital were  able to take the man into custody for a mental evalaution at Mary Greely  Medical in Ames.

3-25-08        5:00pm Deputy Thompson responded to the 1200 block of West View Drive, West Ames, to speak to a Justin Gilger of Ames who reported that someone had vandalized his 2003 Mitsubishi while parked in this area. Someone had kicked his car between 9:50pm and 10:10pm the night before.

3-25-08        10:31pm Deputy Wingate responded to the Story County Line to pick-up a prisoner arrested by the Ames Police Dept. on a Boone County Warrant. Arrested and transported to the Boone County Jail was Joshua S. Dorrlacombe 28 of Ames, warrant for failure to appear, original charge Driving while barred, $1,000.00 bond.

3-26-08        12:20am  Deputy Dominick responded to a domestic situation in the 700 block of 130th, Pilot Mound. Parties involved were separated and no charges filed at this time, as no evidence of assault, just verbal altercation.

3-26-08        6:09am  Deputy Godzicki responded to the Story County line to pick-up a prisoner Thomas Sweeney 51 of Granger, arrested in Ames on a Boone County Warrant for Contempt of Court, original charge driving while license suspended, bond $500.00.

3-26-08        5:41pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a hit and run accident in the 100 block of H Ave, Complainant followed the vehicle that had side swiped him and saw the vehicle placed into a garage and driver run into a house at 749 H Ave. No one would answer the door, Deputy  then force way into the home and arrested Michael L. Platter 48 of that address for Interference with official Acts. Investigation continuing.

3-27-08        7:30am  Begin the calls of several vehicles that had slid into ditches throughout the County, Couple reportable accidents listed below.

3-27-08        7:59am  Chief Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint of a school bus that had gone into the ditch on Kale Rd between 156th and 157th. No damages or injuries were reported.

3-27-08        8:39am Deputy Godzicki arrested a Isaigh Jackson 16 of the Woodward Academy for Possession of marijuana, after a complaint by the Academy the arrest was made.

3-27-08        9:00am Sgt. Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident 1.5 miles South of Boxholm on 169. Deana A. Stevens 39 of Boxholm was south bound when she lost control on the slush and rolled her vehicle into the west ditch, no injuries were reported, damages were est. at $2,500.00 to her 1995 Jeep Cherokee.

3-27-08        10:30am  Sgt. Hurley investigated an accident 1 mile East of Ogden on 216th Dr. Randy L. Jennings 44 of Ogden was East bound when he lost control on the slush and went into the south ditch and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $15,000.00 to his 2005 Ford F250.

3-27-08        10:40pm Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop east of Logansport near the Kate Shelley High Bridge. Driver Amanda Hanson 18 of Boone was charged with possession of Alcohol under the legal age, also open container in her vehicle.

3-28-08        7:43pm  Deputy Wingate investigated a single vehicle accident on Highway 30 and L Ave. Natasha L. Bowers 20 of Sacul Texas was east bound when she struck a deer in the roadway, causing $1,000.00 in damages to her 2008 Pontiac. No injuries were reported.

3-29-08        12:40pm  Sgt. Hurley investigated a two vehicle accident 4 miles East of Ogden at Highway 30 and L Ave. Doris A. Bennett 70 of Perry was north bound attempting to cross 4 lanes of traffic, a west bound vehicle operated by Max A. Lungren 49 of Oskaloosa Iowa  crossed into her path as she struck the Lungren vehicle in the drivers side.  Bennett reported no injuries, Lungren was taken to the Boone County Hospital for treatment. Damages were est. at $3,000.00 to Bennett's 2001 Chrysler, and $7,500.00 to Lungren's 1998 Audi. Bennett was cited for failure to yeild right of way.

3-30-08        1:07am  Deputy Wingate assisted an Ogden Officer with a complaint of party with under age persons consuming alcohol. Deputy Wingate did cite a Tonya Mitchels 20 of Ogden for possession of alcohol under the legal age. Ogden P.D. handled the remainder.

3-30-08        2:03am  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop at E26 and Highway 17. Driver Kenneth S. Hageman 40 of Woodward was arrested for O.W.I.  1st Offense.

3-31-08        4:00pm Deputy Godzicki arrested a Robert J. Armstrong on a warrant for Burglary 3rd for the theft of Copper taken from the Farm Expo site East of Boone. Some of the Copper has been recovered, investigation continuing with Story County and Ames Authorities. Bond $10,000.00.

3-31-08        5:48pm  Deputy Thompson investigated a single vehicle accident on Highway  30 and T Ave area. Dorothy M. Lewis 61 of Boone was west bound when she said a gust of wind pushed her vehicle close to another west bound vehicle, she swerved and lost control into the medium. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $2,700.00 to her 2006 Pontiac.

3-31-08        7:55pm  Deputy Thompson responded to the Story County line to pick-up a prisoner arrested by Ames P.D. on a Boone County Warrant. Arrested was a Bradley J. Wilson 49 of Ames on warrant for violation of pre-trial release, original charge O.W.I. bond $7,500.00.

4-01-08        8:15am  Sgt. Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident 1/4 mile North of 190th on H Ave. Blaisze Winn-Bushore 16 of Boone was attempting to pass a slower vehicle and lost control on icy surface and rolled her vehicle into the West ditch. Injured was Blaisze, and passengers Cade Bushore age 7 and Trinity Barnette- Bushore age 6 all taken by ambulance to the Boone County Hospital for treatment. Damages were est. at $5,500.00 to a 2001 Ford Ranger.

4-01-08        11:57pm  Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of a stop sign down at Nature Rd and E18. County Road Dept was informed to repair.

4-02-08        1:45am Deputy Wingate and K-9 Taser responded to Ames to assist with tracking a suspect in the City of Ames. Individual was not located.

4-02-08        8:17am  Deputy Godzicki responded to the Woodward Academy, student Johnny L. Hellems 14 of Des Moines was charged with possession of marijuana and paraparnilia.

4-02-08        8:57am  Luther Co-op reported that someone had tampered with their Anhydrous tanks, they were unable to get any Anhydrous because of the Safety Locks that have been put into place a few years ago.

4-02-08        4:11pm  Detective Kendall took a report of fraud from Blake Hansel of Rural Boone. He reported that Discover had issued a credit card in his name without his knowledge and was being used by someone else. Investigation continuing.

4-03-08        12:47am  Deputy Dominick made a traffic stop in the 1700 block of 169. Driver Michael J. Mitchell 23 of Ames was charged with driving while License suspended, and Speeding 65 in a 55 zone.

4-03-08        12:59am  Deputy Hoffman located an open door at the Perry Golf and Country Club. Building was secured and nothing reported missing.

4-03-08        2:41pm  Deputy Spencer responded to a complaint of an incomplete 911 call from the 2300 block of 220th. Turned out to be a phone or line problem.

4-03-08        3:37pm  Deputy Spencer and Godzicki responded to a complaint of a house fire at 2324 320th St. Slater. Madrid, Woodward, and Slater Fire all responded. No injuries were reported. Red Cross was notified for assistance for the family. Owner Bryan Davis.

4-04-08        2:36am  Deputy Hoffman and Wingate responded to the Woodward Academy area on a complain that they had a student Marcus Jamez 17 of Des Moines Run-away from their facility. Last seen wearing Brown stripped Polo Shirt, Blue Jeans and tennis shoes, Jamez is Described as Bi- Racial 5'11" 235 pounds Black hair brown eyes.

4-04-08        5:40am Deputy Hoffman investigated a car deer accident in the 1800 block of S Ave. David F. Hellyer 33 of Boone was north bound when a deer ran out in front of him causing, $1,000.00 in damages to his 1995 GEO Met. No injuries were reported.

4-04-08        6:43am Sgt. Hurley assisted the State Patrol with a personal injury accident on Highway 17 overpass of Highway 30. Two vehicles collided due to frost on the roadway. State Patrol will complete the report. 3 people were transported by Boone County Ambulances to the the Boone County Hospital for injuries sustained in the wreck.

4-04-08        7:45am Sgt. Hurley investigated a two vehicle accident 1 mile SW of Ames on 230th. Rebecca A. Edwards 20 of Boone was east bound in the right lane, another east bound vehicle operated by Darren L. Hemmen 40 of Waukee was in the left lane and was changing lanes when the Edwards vehicle was passing on the right, hemmen changed lanes into the path of the Edwards vehicle and collided, damages were est at $1,000.00 to Edward's 1990 Toyota, and $1,000.00 to Hemmans 1997 Ford Aeromax Semi Tractor. No injuries were reported.

4-04-08        6:13pm Deputy Thompson responded to a complaint of a vehicle ran off the roadway on 123rd Place, Boone. Driver of vehicle that was ran off was Andrew E. Peppels 19 of Boone. Second vehicle that fled the scene was a white blazer, investigation continueing.

4-04-08        10:50pm  Deputy Wingate located two vehicles that were stopped in the middle of the roadway preparing to drag race. Both drivers were cited for Stopped in traveled portion of Roadway. Cited was Mohamed Soluaman Nasi Hilal 19 of Ames, and Abduah Salman Altamimi 20 of Ames, took place at 230th and Highway 17.

4-05-08        1:31am Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of a trespasser on a Union Pacific rail train at the V Ave Railroad crossing. Deputy located a Matthew Dodson 33 of  Pocatello Idaho. He was charged with trespassing, and possession of drug paraparnilia, and marijuana.

4-05-08        1:32am Deputy Wingate assisted a Madrid Officer with a complaint of noise and possible underage individuals at 211 State St., Madrid. Madrid P.D. filed charges.

4-05-08        5:24pm  Deputy Thompson and Ogden Officer along with ambulance responded to 1189 270th St, Boone. Brothers had gotten into a fight and one stabbed the other and the victim was transported with wound to the back. Arrested for aggravated assault Nathaniel Stumbo 18 of that address.

4-06-08        1:00am  Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop at QF and Highway 210. Driver Elijah R. Coleman 21 of Clive was arrested for O.W.I. 1st Offense, interference, open container and no front license plate.

4-05-08        8:18pm  Deputy Wingate investigated a car-deer accident in the 1400 block of Quill Ave. Dawn M. Loew 40 pf Carroll was south bound on Quill when a deer ran out in front of her causing $3,000.00 in damages to her 2001 Chrysler. No injuries were reported.

4-06-08        7:50pm  Chief Deputy Elsberry arrested a Thomas Winger 28 of Boone as he turned himself into the Sheriff's Office on a Boone County warrant, bond $1,000.00 original charge possession of marijuana 2nd Offense.

4-06-08        9:10pm Deputy Wingate responded to a complaint of dog killing chickens in the 2100 block of 340th St. Madrid. Boone County Humane Society took possession of the Dog. Dog had killed around 20 chickens owned by Henry Kenoyer.

4-07-08        8:27am  Sgt Hurley responded to the 100 block of West Maple in Ogden to assist with an ambulance and Ogden Officer with a medical assist.

4-08-08        1:07am  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 2100 block of 210th, Driver Jason B. Miller of Rural Ames was arrested for O.W.I. open container and failure to use turn signal.

4-08-08        1:25pm  Sgt. Hurley responded toward the Woodward area after a family member reported 76 year old male with Alzheimers had left his residence by vehicle and family was concerned. He returned home in a short time period.

4-08-08        10:22pm  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop at Highway 30 and S. Story. Deputy Arrested the operator Michael K. Lau 19of Las Vegas NV. for Failure to display Registration plate, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia.

4-09-08        5:05am  Deputy Dominick began an investigation of a two vehicle accident on Highway 30 at the bottom of the river hill west of Boone. Cement truck and Semi involved. No injuries were reported. Accident report not completed.

4-09-08        5:02pm  Deputy Thompson responded to a complaint of power line down across the roadway in the 2200 block of T Ave. Power Company was called to repair.

4-09-08        6:11pm  Deputy Thompson and Sgt. Kendall responded to a complaint of an armed robbery that took place west of Madrid at the Madrid Gravel Pits. Two males from Boone were at the Gravel Pit area taking pictures of birds, when another male drove into the area and asked the two men directions to Ames. After that the man pulled a hand gun and demanded money from the two. The two men gave up what money they had, the assailant then discharged one round into the area, and left the area. Suspect described at a black male, early 20's, 5'8" 135 pounds with dreadlocks, wearing a black baggy pants with writing and black hooded sweatshirt. Suspect was operating a 1980s or 90's purple sedan. Investigation is Continuing.

4-09-08        11:08pm Deputy Wingate responded to a cell phone call from a 11 year old boy from Boone who reported that he was in the Logansport area on his bicycle, he had ran away from home and was scared. The child was located and returned home to his mother, Deputy Spoke to both of them and had resolved the problems for now.

4-10-08        2:06am  Deputy Hoffman made a traffice stop at Story and Union in Boone. the driver Emily A. Holman 22 of Boone was arrested for speeding and O.W.I. 1st Offense.

4-10-08        6:37am  Sgt. Hurley arrested a Michael L. Platter 48 of Pilot Mound on a Boone County Warrant for Interference with Official Acts, bond $500.00. Platter had turned himself into the Sheriff's Office.

4-10-08        7:45am Sgt Hurley responded toward the West Ames area on a complaint of pigs running loose on Highway 30. Turned out that an ISU Truck was loosing pigs while traveling west bound on 30. ISU Ag. Dept. was notified and 3 -25 pound pigs were rounded up.

4-10-08        Deputy Wingate charged Daniel Reetz 20 of Boone with O.W.I. 1st Offense after receiving results from lab. original stop made on 2/10/08 at 4:10am.

4-11-08        9:18am Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a break in to a trailer owned by Kurrent Electric, theft took place at 2242 229th Ames. Nothing missing out of the first trailer, second trailer had wiring missing. Investigation continuing.

4-11-08        4:30pm  Deputy Thompson investigated a two vehicle accident at Highway 30 and 169 north. Carmen G. Hood 41 of Lohrville Iowa was west bound on 30, when another vehicle operated by Arleen M. GeGenheimer 49 of Granger had just turned east off of 169 onto Highway 30 into the path of the west bound vehicle, causing the collision at the intersection. Injured was Both drivers and 2 passengers in the Hood vehicle. They were Jennifer M. Hood 11 and Stefanie A. Hood 12 all of Lohrville. Boone County Ambulance transported all to the Boone County Hospital. Damages were est. at $6,000.00 to hood's 1999 Buick, AND $7,500.00 TO GeGenheimer's 2005 Chevy. GeGenheimer was cited for failure to yield upon  left turn.

4-12-08        1:23am  Deputy Dominick responded to a single vehicle accident in the 1800 block of Highway 17. Driver Kary Meyer-Haglan 24 of Norwalk Iowa was. Haglan had received a head injury, Madrid Fire and Woodward fire responded along with Boone County Ambulance. He was operating a 1992 Honda Accord. Investigation continuing.

4-12-08        4:13am  Deputy Dominick responded to a single vehicle accident 1/10th of mile West of Boone on Highway 30. Eric R. Burt 18 of Ogden was west bound on 30 when he lost control on the snow covered roadway and rolled his vehicle into the north ditch and wound up under a guide wire. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $3,500.00 to his 1995 Chevy S10. and $500.00 to the DOT Guide wire.

4-12-08        Until 8am there were several vehicles that had gone into ditches due to snow covered roadways in Boone County.

4-13-08        12:46am Deputy Wingate responded to Madrid at the Who's Lounge to assist a Madrid Officer with a fight that had been called in to that location. One person had been injured. Madrid P.D. will complete investigation.

4-13-08        12:51am  Deputy Dominick responded to a complaint of a fight in the 2100 block of B Ave, Perry. Charges will be filed on Josh Spracklin 23 of Perry for Assault, and Violation of a no contact order.

4-13-08        11:12am  Deputy Pontius responded toward the NE part of Boone County as Story and Hamilton County were in pursuit of a brown 4 door Buick. The vehicle had slid into a ditch in Boone County in the 400 block of X Ave. Witness in the area observed two individuals run from the vehicle and called it in. Female suspect captured while male eluded officers. K-9 Unit was dispatched to assist in the search. Male suspect Michael A. Mallinger 36 of Sioux City Iowa was captured by State Troopers and charged with Eluding, and driving under suspension. The female passenger was charged.

4-13-08        1:19pm  Deputy Pontius took a report of a stolen 4 wheeler from  1200 block of 216th St, west of Boone. 4 wheeler described as a 2004 back and yellow Polaris was stolen sometime since April 4th. Person who took spent sometime around the area messing with the tires on the trailer that the 4 wheeler was inside. Anyone observing person or persons around this trailer, please contact the Sheriff's Office.

4-14-08        3:22pm Deputy Hoffman assisted with traffic control at a personal injury accident on Highway 30 and Linn St, Boone. Boone P.D. Completed the investigation.

4-14-08        6:31pm  Deputy Hoffman investigated a motorcycle and Semi accident at the intersection of E18 and P70. Gary Bugger 48 of Boone was north bound on P70 when he slid through the intersection and collided with a west bound Semi, operated by David Coplan 28 of Escanaba Michigan. Injured was Bugger, who was taken by Boone County Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital. Did not appear to be life threatening injuries. Damages were est.at $00 to Coplan's 2008 Volvo Semi tractor and trailer, $9,000.00 to Bugger's 2005 Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Bugger was cited for failure to maintain control.

4-14-08        11:29pm  Deputy Haase investigated a car-horse accident 1.5 miles South of Boone, in the 1300 block of Quill Ave. Ryan A. Hoyme 20 of Woodward struck a horse in the roadway, causing $1,200.00 in damages to his 2000 Pontiac. The horse belonged to Patrick Erb. The horse had to be put down due to injuries. Value of horse $500.00. No injuries were reported by Hoymes.

4-14-08        5:44pm  Deputy Haase responded to Boxholm to speak to a family having problems with children between parents, who do not live together.

4-16-08        2:29am  Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop and cited the operator Nicholas P. Hike 20 of Lake City Iowa was cited for driving while suspended.

4-15-08        8:09am  Deputy Thompson responded to a complaint of an individual walking on Highway 30 east of Highway 17, fitting description of wanted person out of Polk County. Deputy located and arrested Willie J. Campbell 37 of Des Moines on a warrant for assault no bond. Was transported to the Polk County line.

4-16-08        7:56pm  Deputy Wingate began an investigation of a theft of a 4 wheeler from 615 SW Ringold, Boone. Taken was a Green Polaris, Investigation continuing.

4-16-08        8:18pm  Deputy Haase responded to a complaint of a grass fire in the 700 block of J Ave, Ogden. Ogden fire responded.

4-16-08        9:46pm  Deputy Wingate responded to an alarm sounding at the Land-O-Lakes in the 2300 block of 259th, Napier. was a false alarm.

4-17-08        6:38am  Deputy Pontius investigated a car deer accident 5 miles north of Perry on Clover Ave. David D. Bills 49 of Dayton was south bound when he struck a deer on the roadway, causing $2,500.00 in damages to his 2007 Chevy Pick-up. No injuries were reported.

4-17-08        11:30am  Deputy Pontius responded to the 1300 block of 231st. Complainant there reported that his golf cart trailer had been stolen sometime last night or early this morning.  Trailer has been entered stolen. Black 2002 Carr carry on trailer. Investigation continuing.

4-18-08        8:41am  Deputy Pontius responded to an ambulance assist int he 1400 block of 334th Rd. Woodward. Individual fell down some stairs and needed medical attention. Woodward Fire and Boone County Ambulance responded.

4-18-08        12:53pm  Deputy Pontius investigated a single vehicle roll-over on Highway 210 3 miles east of Madrid. Judith A. Schroeder 70 of Boone lost control and rolled vehicle into the ditch. Schroeder was taken by ambulance to the Boone County Hospital for treatment of injuries. Damages were est. at $20,000.00 to her 2005 Chevy Trial Blazer.

4-18-08        6:13pm  Deputy Thompson responded to the 1100 block of Montana, a complaint of an ATV stolen from the residence sometime in the past couple of days. Report taken.

4-19-08        3:27am  Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop after observing a vehicle stop in the middle of the roadway for no reason. Driver Amanda R. Hnason 18 of Boone was arrested for O.W.I. 1st, possession of alcohol under the legal age, and stopping on traveled portion of roadway.

4-19-08        4:08am  Deputy Wingate and Boone Officers responded to a complaint by the Boone County Ambulance crew of a Budget Rental Truck swerving all over the roadway west bound on 30. The vehicle was stopped and field sobriety conducted and driver passed, Individual and passenger were acting suspicious, but were let go. Vehicle was followed and stopped in Boone at 517 Washington. After further investigation a Search warrant was obtained by the Sheriff's Office. Search warrant executed for Rental truck, and one ATV that was reported stolen 4/16/08 on SW Ringold was recovered. Also in the yard of the address was a trailer that was reported stolen on 4/17/08 in the 1300 block of 231st, Boone. A second search warrant was executed for the outbuilding and home at 517 Washington and a second ATV was recovered that was stolen 4/18/08 in the 1100 block of Montana. Investigation is continuing.

4-19-08        6:13am  Deputy Pontius responded to an alarm sounding at Technochem International Inc. in the 900 block of Quartz, was a false alarm.

4-19-08        6:31am Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a house fire in the 2100 block of G Ave Perry. Perry Fire Woodward Fire and Ogden Fire all responded. The house was unoccupied and was a total loss, Home belonged to James Welder of Madrid.

4-19-08        6:48am State Radio contacted Boone County that they had received a complaint of smoke coming from the Monsanto buildings on Highway 17, just north of Highway 30. Turned out to be a garbage burn, no buildings.

4-19-08        4:03pm  Deputy Dominick investigated a 2 vehicle accident 3 miles West of Boone at L Ave and 30. Kelly L. Stark 30 of Boone was north bound on L Ave and failed to yield the right of way to a west bound vehicle operated by Troy A. Bennett 43 of Ogden. Bennett was transported to the Boone County Hospital with injuries. No other reports of injuries. Damages were est. at $8,000.00 to Stark's 2003 Chevy, and $4,500.00 to Bennett's 1994 Chevy Pick-up. Stark was cited for failure to yield right of way.

4-19-08        11:34pm  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Highway 17. Driver Adam J. Pepper 24of Ames was arrested for O.W.I. 1st Offense and following too closely.

4-20-08      9:42 AM   Deputy Pontius responded to the Fraser boat ramp after Janet Myers of Ankeny reported her unoccupied 2005 Kia Sedona van rolled into the river.  Boone County Search and Rescue and Condons assisted in retrieving the submerged vehicle.

4-20-08    2:48 PM  Deputy Haase responded and began the investigation of someone killing a goat and taking the horns within the 1200 blk of 252nd Ln.   A vehicle was seen in the area.  The investigation is continuing.

4_20-08   7:03 PM   Bret Bollie of Madrid reported he hit a deer with his 2005 Dodge Stratus.  Deputy Haase responded  West of Madrid on Highway 210 and took the report.

4-20-08   10:36 PM   Deputy Wingate responded to the 200 blk. of South State in  Madrid on a complaint of  noise.  Upon investigating the complaint, Seth Welder of Woodward and Jaron Gibson of Madrid were cited and released for possession of alcohol under age.  Madrid Police were busy on another call at the time.

4-21-08   3:39 AM  Deputy Wingate responded to the 2000 blk. of S Ave for a vehicle that struck a deer and then went into the ditch.  No injuries to the driver were reported.

4-22-08        6:06am Deputy Thompson responded to an alarm sounding at Kinzler Construction in the 2300 block of 230th. Was a false alarm, employee set it off.

4-22-08        7:20pm  Deputy Godzicki investigated a single vehicle 3.5 miles SW of Berkley on 325th. Walter Loaiza-Valdez 17 of Perry was east bound when he lost control on the Angus curve and rolled his vehicle into the south ditch. No injuries were reported. Damages were est.at $9,000.00 to a 2001 Honda Civic. Loaiza- Valdez was cited for failure to maintain control.

4-22-08        9:24pm  Deputy Hoffman investigated a pick-up- bicycle accident in the 1400 block of 325th. Sean M. Gogerty 19 of Madrid was west bound on 325th when he struck a bicyclist on the roadway who was east bound. Mercy Air life was called to the scene and airlifted the Bicyclist Edwin C. Jeffress 53 of Madrid to Mercy in Des Moines. No one was injured in the pick-up. One passenger in the pick-up a Jessie A. Bollie was cited for possession of drug paraparnilia. Damages were est. at $2,000.00 to Gogerty's 2004 Dodge Pick-up and $500.00 to Jeffress' Marin Bicycle. Investigation continuing.

4-23-08        2:00pm  The Boone County Sheriff's Office and 911 Center participated in a Drill at the Boone High School, other participants included the Boone Police Dept, Ogden Police Dept, State Patrol, Boone County Ambulance and Hospital, Boone Fire Dept. Search and Rescue, Salvation Army, Emergency Management, Boone School staff and several Boone High Students. Several scenarios were completed with active shooters in the School using area Emergency personal, Boone County SRT, and City ERT Units. The practice drills went through until 5:30pm. It was very beneficial and learning  experience for all participants.

4-23-08        8:42pm  Deputy Godzicki investigated a two vehicle accident on Highway 17 3 miles NE of Boone. Christian M. Kew 15 of Boone was west bound on E26 when he stopped at a stop sign and then proceeded across highway 17 into the path of a north bound vehicle operated by Brian Carlyle 38 of Boone. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $2,500.00 to Kew's 1999 Mitsubishi, and $4,000.00 to Carlyle's 1997 Ford. Kew was cited for failure to yield right of way.

4-23-08        9:53pm  Deputy Godzicki made a traffic stop 22nd and Cedar in Boone. Driver Lois L. Lane 60 of Boone was arrested for O.W.I. 1st. Offense.

4-24-08        11:11am Deputy Pontius and Kendall responded to a domestic situation in the 2200 block of 207th, Boone. No arrests made and property was being separated and one party was having emotional problems.

4-24-08        1:34pm  Deputy Thompson arrested a Mary M. Madden 48 of Boone on a warrant for theft 5th out of Dallas and Story Counties.

4-24-08        5:03pm  Deputy Thompson made a traffic stop 230th and XE Place. Driver Logan Pope 20 of Ames was arrested for driving while license revoked.

4-25-08        4:20am  Deputy Wingate responded to a complaint of a vehicle that was driving in a farm field in Boxolm. Deputy located the vehicle and spoke to individuals involved, they were rounding up ponies that had gotten loose, but in the process may have caused damages in the fields and yards by driving through the wet ground [ mud] . Names taken if anyone will pursue damages. Ponies were all rounded up.

4-25-08        11:16pm  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Highway 30. Driver Mathew S. Hall 20 of Boone was arrested for O.W.I. 1st Offense.

4-26-08        1:03am  Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop in the 2300 block of X Ave, Ames. Driver Kody Ann White 19 of Slater was charged with failure to obey a stop sign, possession of alcohol under the legal age and open container and .02 violation, passengers Danielle E. Pritchard 18 of Maxwell was charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age and open container, another passenger Michael T. Anderson 20 of Maxwell was charged with open container, and possession of alcohol under the legal age.

4-27-08        12:03am  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 2300 block of 170th, Boone. Driver Jordan D. Cooper 19 of Ames was arrested for, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraparnilia. Passengers  Zach L. Anderson 18 of Story City, Benjamin G. Durbin 18 of Gilbert, and Steven L. Wirtz 18 of Boone all were arrested for Possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraparnilia.

4-27-08        9:41am  Deputy Thompson responded to Ogden to assist with a medical emergency, as a 49 year old woman had fallen down some stairs and beleived that she was having a heart attack. Air Ambulance was dispatched.

4-27-08        11:24am  Deputy Thompson responded to a complaint of a theft at the Honey Creek Golf Course south of Boone. Reported the theft of 25 sand bottles, that were kept on the Golf Carts.

4-28-08        2:10am  Deputy Godzicki made a traffic stop in the 1100 block of T Ave, Boone. Driver Bryan D. Pack 32 of Boone was arrested for driving while license revoked and warrant oot of Story County for probation revocation, original charge domestic assault, bond $2,000.00.

4-28-08        1:25pm  Ames P.D. Notified Boone County that they were looking for a vehicle that had been observed in the City of Ames stealing copper wiring, they had a license number and description of suspects. Deputy Haase checked a salvage yard near Boxholm and found the wiring and suspects had just left the yard about 3 minutes before officer arrived. investigation continuing with Ames P.D. Suspects from Boxholm.

4-28-08        2:19pm  Justine Merriam of West 1st St. Ext, Boone reported that a purple concrete unicorn was stolen from their yard, valued at $85.00.

4-28-08        8:55pm  Deputy Haase responded to a complaint of  a possible drunk driver east bound on Highway 30 from Ogden. Vehicle was stopped, driver was not intoxicated, although did not have a valid drivers License. Cited for no D.L. no proof of insurance, and no registration, was Edward T. Lomax 35 of Des Moines.

4-29-08        9:18am  Sgt. Hurley assisted a stalled motorist with  a flat tire on highway 17 3 miles south of 30.

4-29-08        12:07pm  Sgt. Hurley responded to the Woodward Academy on a complain that a student had assualted two staff members, took place a couple days earlier. Investigation continuing after consulting County Attorney.

4-29-08        7:15pm  Deputy Naeve responded to a complaint of 4 wheelers riding up and down QF Lane, Madrid. Deputy located a 4 wheeler and spoke to owner, about staying off private property. Did not see any one operating the ATV when he arrived, so no charges at this time.

4-30-08        12:13am  Deputy Godzicki located two individuals on the Kinzler Contraction property in West Ames. Both individuals were arrested for Trespassing and possession of burglar tools.  They were Robert J. Armstrong 36 of Ames, and Jeremiah J. Smith 26 of Ames.

4-30-08        10:00am Sgt. Hurley arrested a Forest Golbek Jr. 18 of the Woodward academy for assault X2 on the incident that took place on 4/29/08. Golbek was seen by the Judge and returned to the Academy.

4-30-08        10:08pm  Deputy Wingate reported that he had two ATV's running from him at 325th and Nectar, Woodward. both ATV's were lost in a field.

5-01-08        10:12am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of dogs being let out of pens in the 1200 block of W Ave, Two pit bulls were released by unknown person or persons, dogs could not be located.

5-02-08        12:01am  Perry P.D. sent out a broadcast about a vehicle entering Boone County with possible meth in the drivers purse. Vehicle was located and stopped on 169, north of 320th. K-9 alerted to the vehicle and meth was located. Arrested was Rona R. Prickisie 41 of Bellevue Nebraska.

5-02-08        10:40am  Deputy Pontius arrested a Kevin Langford 30 of Boone, arrested at the Kurt Forbes Center in Ames on a Boone County warrant for probation revocation, original charge possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver.

5-02-08        12:54pm  Sgt. Hurley responded to an incomplete 911 at 304 N. Locust in Madrid, was a false alarm, elderly woman having problem with her phone.

5-02-08        4:30pm  Deputy Haase investigated a single vehicle accident 6 miles North of Boone on P Ave. Arnold V. Egeland 64 of Boone was north bound when he apparently fell asleep and drove off into the east ditch and struck a utility pole, causing  $500.00 in damages to his 2000 Chevy Pick-up and $500.00 to an Alliant Pole. No injuries were reported.

5-02-08        6:10pm  Deputy Spencer responded to a complaint of a missing bicycle from 211 S. Green St, Madrid.

5-03-08        12:45am  Deputy Wingate located a motor home camping on Corp ground at the Madrid boat ramp. Individuals were informed of rules and camper moved.

5-03-08        6:02am  Deputy Thompson responded to an alarm sounding at Kinzler Construction in West Ames. was a false alarm.

5-03-08        9:12pm  Deputy Godzicki made a traffic stop at 230th and L Ave. Driver Michael E. Wanat 30 of Aurora Illinois was arrested for driving while license suspended.

5-03-08        9:38pm  Deputy Haase investigated a vehicle parked partially on the roadway. Arrested was a Sally M. Jones 18 of Johnston IA. for driving while license suspended.

5-04-08        12:25am  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 1200 block of W Ave, Boone. Driver Kyle A. Rickert 21 of North Liberty Iowa was arrested for failure to give a turn signal, O.W.I. 1st, passengers Matthew W. Knight 19 of Pilot Mound, Caleb R. McConnell 19of Armstrong, Ia., and Anamarie M. Venator 19of Ankeny were all charged with possession of Alcohol under the legal age.

5-04-08        Deputy Hoffman followed up after an allegation of a juvenile using another juveniles name during an Alcohol incident that took place in Madrid on 3-16-08. Charged was Robin A. Cornelius 17 of Boone for Possession of Alcohol on 3-16-08 and False information to a peace officer on that same incident.

5-04-08        2:41am Deputy Hoffman responded to a Domestic situation in the 2200 block of Magnolia Rd, Woodward. That investigation is continuing although one person there Shelly L. Eaton 32of that address was arrested for O.W.I. 1st.

5-05-08        12:35pm  Deputy Thompson responded to a complaint by an Alliant Employee that they discovered that a Substation north of Madrid had copper wiring stolen from the building. Investigation continuing.

5-05-08        11:30pm  Deputy Wingate responded to a complaint of citizens hearing shots fired near Pilot Mound. Deputy located the area where the shots were coming from in the 700 block of 130th. Individual claimed to be shooting at moles. Told to put gun away and return back into the house.

5-06-08        5:36am  Deputy Wingate responded to an alarm sounding at Kinzler Construction in West Ames, employee had set off alarm, all O.K.

5-06-08        9:00am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a missing pick-up at Ames Engineering Inc, in West Ames. They reported that a 1997 Ford F250 pick-up Hunter Green in color has been stolen from their lot. License number on vehicle is 171FWN.  Investigation continuing.

5-06-08        3:06pm  Deputy Thompson arrested a Chad Larson 36 of Alta Iowa on a Boone County warrant for failure to appear, original charge possession of meth, arrested at the Sheriff's Office.

5-07-08        3:40pm  Cheif Deputy Elsberry began an investigation of a missing 14 year old girl from West Ames that had not reported to school at the Boone Middle School for 3 days. After further investigation the girl was located in Fort Dodge and returned to her mother.

5-07-08        8:24pm Deputy Hoffman arrested a Michael T. Evans 23 of Des Moines in Madrid. individual was wanted by Polk County on a drug related warrant. Transported to Granger where Deputy met with Polk County Officer.

5-07-08        10:06pm Ames P.D. Notified the Sheriff's Office that they had arrested a Patrick D. Schmidt 18 of Ames on a Boone County warrant for failure to appear on an O.W.I. charge. Bond $200.00.

5-07-08        11:43pm Ames P.D. Notified the Sheriff's Office that they had arrested a Neil C. Pritchard 33 of Ames on a Boone County warrant for failure to appear, on an Abandonment of vehicle, bond $325.00.

5-08-08        10:56am  Deputy Haase responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch in the 2200 block of X Ave, Boone. No driver was around, deputy began to investigate and found owner, no injuries were reported, investigation is continuing.

5-08-08        7:05pm  Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of meth lab remnants in a culvert in the 2100 block of 340th, Madrid. Area was cleaned up.

5-08-08        11:27pm  Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop on Highway 169 and 300th, Woodward.  Deputy Could smell Chemicals and observed Chemicals in the vehicle. Arrested were the following Barbara J. Reed 32 of Des Moines for possession of lithium batteries, possession of anhydrous ammonia, and conspire to manufacture meth. Same charges filed on Jason B. Middleton 36 of Des Moines. The driver of the vehicle was charged with illegal stopping on the traveled portion of the roadway and also the same charges as the other 2, his name is Richard T. Applegate 38 of Waukee. State lab team was called out for clean up. Investigation continuing.

5-09-08        12:44pm  Deputy Thompson assisted with a car fire call at Highway 30 and South Story, Boone.

5-09-08        7:07pm  Mary Greeley reported that a female from Rural Boone was headed for the Hospital in Ames when she pulled over as she could not operate any further. Deputy Located the vehicle along Highway 30 east bound near V Ave. Boone Ambulance and Fire were dispatched and she was transported.

5-09-08        10:26pm  Deputy Haase and Godzicki responded to a domestic situation at 965 222nd Dr. lot 4, Ogden. Arrested for Serious Domestic Assault was Chalon D. Engleen 45 of that address.

5-09-08        10:54pm  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 2200 block of 200th St. Deputy could smell burning marijuana coming from the vehicle. 5-10-08        9:28am  Deputy Thompson arrested a Duane Alapai Kaleookalani 48 of Ames wanted on a warrant out of Kansas for 2nd Offense O.W.I. Kansas will extradite back to their state for prosecution. Held in Boone County Jail until extradited.

5-10-08        12:30pm  Deputy Thompson responded to a complaint of meth lab remnants located by the river bridge on Highway 210, between Madrid and Woodward, area was cleaned up.

5-10-08        7:22pm  Deputy Haase and Godzicki responded to a domestic situation at 1415 285th Lane, Madrid. Arrested for Serious Domestic Assault was Dustin L. Overland 39 of that address.

5-11-08        3:08am  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Highway 30. Driver Austin Duc Tran 40 of Des Moines was arrested for O.W.I. 2nd. investigation continuing.

5-11-08        3:34pm  Deputy Thompson investigated a single vehicle accident at Y Ave and 240th. Nathan T. Brayman 25 of Ames was south bound on Y  when an animal jumped out in front of him, he swerved and lost control of his vehicle and went into the west ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $6,000.00 to his 2007 Dodge.

5-11-08        11:03pm  Deputy Wingate responded to a complaint of a vehicle all over the roadway on Highway 30. Vehicle was located and stopped near mile marker 137. Driver Andrew Deshong 22 of Ogden was arrested for O.W.I. 1st, and open container.

5-12-08        6:56pm  Deputy Pontius responded tp 1002 218th Lane, Ogden one medical assist. Mercy one landed and transported  one male with a medical problem.

5-12-08        9:56am Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint by the County Rd Dept of a propane tank filled with anhydrous was located  on T Ave south of 270th. Area cleaned up.

5-12-08        1:27pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint between and ex-employee and New Beginning Day Care in Madrid. Ex employee was told that they are no longer welcome at the Day Care and will file trespassing charges if located on the property.

5-12-08        3:52pm  Deputy Thompson responded to a complaint of what was suspected to be remnant of a meth lab, deputy cleaned up the area.

5-12-08        9:23pm  Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint of a single vehicle accident on E26 east of the Des Moines River Bridge NW of Boone. Driver Benjamin G. Parsons 45 of Boone was east bound when he lost control and went into the north ditch striking an embankment. Parsons was taken by ambulance to the Boone County Hospital for treatment. Damages were est. at $8,500.00 to his 2002 Ford F 150.

 5-13-08        4:14pm  Deputy Haase began an investigation of an IPod stolen from a student at the United Community School building today. IPod valued at $480.00.

5-14-08        3:53am  Deputy Wingate found an open door at the West Port Station in West Ames. Nothing appeared to missing.

5-14-08        4:34pm  Jackson County Kansas notified Boone County that they had recovered our stolen vehicle a 1997 Ford F250 stolen on May 6th in the West Ames area. Kansas stopped the vehicle on a call of a reckless driver. Driver John E. Grubbs 48 of Council Bluffs Iowa is being held by Kansas, also found was burglar tools. Investigation is continuing.

5-14-08        7:18pm Sgt. Hurley made a traffic stop at 14th and Story in Boone. Just as he made the stop dispatch had received a call of that vehicle with Nebraska plates was driving recklessly. Driver Dexter D. Hall 20 of Boone was arrested for O.W.I. 1st, Carrying a weapon, manner of Conveyance a weapon violation, and no proof of insurance.

5-14-08        10:47pm  Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop on Highway 17 just south of Luther, driver was cited for no front license plate and no rear license lamp, Deputy also located drug paraphernalia. David J. Darby 18 of Boone was arrested for possession of drug paraparnilia, and possession of marijuana.

5-15-08        4:49am  Deputy Wingate removed a dead deer from traffic lanes on Highway 30 East bound lanes.

5-15-08        10:00am  Polk County Notified Boone County that they had arrested a Danny L. Braathen 33 of Des Moines on a Boone County warrant for possession of stolen property ATV theft case. Bond $10,000.  Tanya Reed accomplice.

5-15-08        9:32pm  Deputy Haase and Godzicki responded to a medical emergency in Madrid, as the Madrid Officer was on call at the time. Boone Ambulance responded to 411 E 1st.

5-16-08        12:55am Deputy Godzicki arrested a Tanya Reed  27 of Boone, who turned herself into the Sheriff's Office on a warrant from Boone County for possession of stolen property ATV thefts, bond $10,000.00. Danny Braathen accomplice.

5-16-08        9:00am  Deputy Thompson investigated a two vehicle accident on Highway 169 and 4th St. in Boxholm. Kevin D. Olson 29 of Huxley Iowa was south bound on Highway 169,  when he did a U-Turn at the intersection in front of another south bound vehicle operated by Kent J. Husted 53 of Sioux City Iowa causing the collision in the intersection .Injured was Olson who was taken by Boone County Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital. Damages were est. at $6,000.00 to Husted's 2003 Internationa Semi Tractor, and $10,000.00 to Olson's 2008 Ford F350. Olson was cited for improper U-Turn.

5-16-08        4:56pm  Deputy Haase responded to complaints of mailboxes vandalized by being knocked over in the 2000 block of 130th and goes to the County line.

5-17-08        9:04am Deputy Thompson responded to a complaint by a farmer who had been towing a sprayer on on E18 west bound from Nature Rd and broke an oil line causing oil to spill all over the roadway, causing  a road hazard. Boone Fire responded to spay off the oil from the roadway.

5-18-08        12:10am  Deputy Godzicki assisted the Don Williams Park Officer with a complaint of loud campers in the camp ground. Charged with possession of Alcohol under the legal age were the following, Zackery A. Miller 18 of Boone, Amanda R. Gustin 18 of Boone, and Timothy J. Nelson 17 of Boone.

5-18-08        2:10am  Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop on Highway 210 just west of the Des Moines River bridge. Driver Ryan L. Braland 18 of Ogden was charged with .02 violation, and possession of alcohol under the legal age. Passengers Alicia M. Franklin 18 of Boone, and Cassie J. Olson 18 of Boone were both charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age.

5-18-08        4:37pm  Deputy Thompson investigated a single vehicle accident 325th and Apple Rd. Karen McDowell 69 of Perry was south bound on Apple  when she failed to negotiate a curve, over corrected and went into the ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $8,000.00 to her 2000 Dodge Van.

5-19-08        1:30am  Deputy Wingate investigated a single vehicle accident on Highway 210 west of the River Bridge. Brenda L. Talbert 38 of Madrid was east bound when a deer ran out in front of her causing $1,500.00 in daamges to her 1997 Chevy Blazer. No injuries were reported.

5-19-08        6:57pm  Deputy Hoffman responded to a civil matter over property dispute in a divorce situation in the City of Boxholm. No charges filed spoke to all parties involved.

5-20-08        2:00pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a camper vandalized that was in storage in the 100 block of 325th, Perry area. Someone had broken out a window to the camper sometime since late April. Damages est. at $200.00, nothing else reported missing or damaged.

5-20-08        2:54pm  Jeremy DeVoogd 22 of Boone was picked up in Fort Dodge on a probation revocation violation, taken to the Boone County jail.

5-21-08        6:11am  Deputy Thompson investigated a single vehicle accident at 195th and V Ave. Mike D. Tollman 32 of Boone was east bound when he struck a horse on the roadway. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $500.00 to Tollman's 1995 Ford. The horse slightly injured belongs to Mary Ruhnke of Rural Boone.

5-21-08        12:21pm  Deputy Thompson made a traffic stop on E57 east of Luther, the driver Sonya Haskin 41 of Ames was arrested for driving while license suspended X2.

5-22-08        8:38pm  Deputy Godzicki stopped a vehicle in the 2100 block of Highway 169. Driver was talked to about her driving, as she swerved. A passenger Mizael A. Ramos 20 of Perry had no I.D. and was found to be wanted on a Dallas County warrant for probation revocation. After the arrest he was found to have marijuana and was charged with possession of marijuana as well.

5-22-08        10:21pm  Deputy Pontius responded to an On-Star 911 call of a car deer accident on Highway 30 by the Story County Line. David F. Blaha 53 of Boone was west bound when he struck a deer in traffic, causing $1,200.00 in damages to a 2008 Chevy Pick-up Rental. No injuries were reported.

5-23-08        8:23am Deputy Pontius investigated a complaint from a Denis Avery 51 of Meservy Iowa, that he was north bound on Highway 17 when another vehicle in the oppisit direction had thrown a rock at him and broke his windshield, other vehicle described as a smaller blue in color vehicle.

5-23-08        9:34pm Deputy Godzicki investigated a car deer accident at Highway 30 and Montana. Sara A. Duseu 30 of River Falls WI. was west bound when she struck a deer in traffic and caused $3,000.00 in damages to her 2005 Ford Escape. No injuries were reported.

5-24-08        12:01am  Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a bale of hay on the traveled portion of  P Ave, just north of 22nd Street. Deputy removed the bale.

5-24-08        1:36am  Deputy Wingate responded to Madrid to assist the Madrid Officer with a domestic situation at Who's Lounge. Parties involved were cooperating and  separated and left the premises

5-24-08        3:41pm Deputy Thompson investigated a single vehicle accident in the 1000 block of 220th. Leael D. Hoskins 68 of Waterloo Iowa was east bound , when he lost control and drove off into the north ditch with a trailer. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $2,500.00 to a 2006 Chevy 2500 Pick-up.

5-24-08        9:03pm  Deputy Godzicki responded to ward a complaint by another motorist who claimed to have been assaulted by a white male with blonde hair , driving a P.T. Cruiser, a P.T. Cruiser was observed by the responding officer and stopped, the driver was arrested for OW.I., that person was Lance E. Tjernagel 28 of Jewell Iowa.

5-25-08        9:23am Deputy Pontius investigated a single vehicle accident 1.5 miles NW of Slater on 320th.  No one was around the vehicle, so vehicle was towed. investigation continueing as vehicle had rolled into the ditch.

5-25-08        1:28pm  Deputy Pontius responded to 812 23rd St, Boone, a Ronald K. Clayton 18 had called 911 as he found his room-mate Dustin J. Willis 21 unresponsive. Willis was pronounced dead at the scene. An Autopsy will be performed, Investigation is continuing. Ronald Clayton 18 was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Criminal Mischief in the 2nd degree.

5-25-08        1:47pm  Deputy Haase investigated a single motorcycle accident  2 miles North of Luther at Highway 17 and 250th. Elaine M. Mudge 23 of Des Moines was north bound on 17 when she lost control  while turning left onto 250th, she laid down her bike and received injuries. Mudge was taken by Mary Greely Ambulance to Mary Greely  Hospital in Ames. Damages were est. at $3,000.00 to her 2005 Suzuki Motorcycle.

5-25-08        11:48pm  Deputy Wingate responded to a fire 1 mile west of Highway 169 at 554 C Ave, Ogden. Barn was on fire, brush fire had spread to the barn. No injuries were reported, Owner Timothy J. Kruse.

5-26-08        9:40am  Deputy Pontius responded to a single vehicle accident 4 miles East of Pilot Mound on 130th. Tucker R. King 18 of Fraser was east bound when he lost control and rolled into the sotuh ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $10,000.00 to his 1995 Ford F350.

5-26-08        5:00pm  Deputy Haase responded to a complaint of an intoxicated individual who was on another persons property and wanted that person removed from the 1200 block of 198th St. Arrested for public Intoxication was Brian L. Hamilton 44 of Boone.

5-26-08        8:32pm Deputy Hoffman responded to south of Boxholm on Highway 169 of a complaint of a possible intoxicated individual walking along the roadway. Deputy located a male. The male identified himself with a false name, was arrested for public intoxication, false name was not determined until he was processed at the Jail. During this process it was discovered that his real name was Dean L. Adams 58 of Webster City. Mr. Adams was also wanted on a Hamilton County warrant, for public Intoxication. Investigation continuing with possible additional charges. Adams turned out to be another false name. Real name Murrell D. Sundberg 57 of Webster City was charged with Public Intoxication, possession of marijuana, and providing false information to a peace officer.

5-27-08        3:58pm  Deputy Haase investigated a van-deer accident 8 miles south of Ogden on 169. Karen A. Sackett 45 of Ogden was north bound when she struck a deer in traffic and caused $1,500.00 in damages to her 2004 Grand Caravan. No injuries were reported.

5-27-08        9:08pm  Deputy Haase investigated a car-deer accident 3 miles NE of Woodward on 325th. Michael K. Reynolds 48 of Boone was west bound when he struck a deer in traffic, causing $2,000.00 in damages to his 1995 Ford Contour, no injuries were reported.

5-28-08        5:47pm  Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint of loud music in the 6100 block of West Lincoln way lot 7 Ames. Individuals turned down the music.

5-28-08        9:31pm  Deputy Hoffman investigated a car-deer accident in the 200 block of Highway 30. Lisa L. Roederer 42 of Ogden struck a deer in traffic causing $2,000.00 in damages to her 2004 Pontiac, no injuries reported.

5-29-08        2:13am  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 400 block of Highway 30, near Ogden for speeding. Driver Fredrick J. Joy 47 of Jefferson was arrested for speeding and O.W.I. 1st.

5-29-08        4:29pm Deputy Thompson responded to a vehicle roll-over accident at 130th and X Ave.6 miles SW of Story City. Mark A. Main 47 of Stanhope was east bound when he lost control and rolled his pick-up into the north ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $3,500.00 to his 2000 ford Ranger. Main was arrested  for O.W.I. 2nd, and no proof of insurance.

5-30-08        4:40pm  Deputy Spencer investigated a two vehicle accident 4 miles West of Boone on Highway 30 and L Ave. Joshua C. Musser 23 of Ogden was north bound on L Ave, when he was proceeding through the intersection, when he was struck by a west bound vehicle operated by Gary C. Vrba 53 of Pocahontas. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $6,000.00 to Musser's 1997 Blazer, and $12,000.00 to Vrba's 2003 Windstar. Musser was cited for failing to yield upon entering a through Highway. Boone County Ambulance and Ogden fire and first responders were on the scene.

5-30-08         7:54pm Deputy Hoffman and Spencer responded to a Domestic situation at 965 222nd St, Ogden. Female had fled the house and male had gone back into the house possibly with weapon. Deputies were able to get the male removed without injuries. Arrested for Domestic Assault was Raphael A. Garlinghouse 46 of that address. Also additional charged were filed after Garlinghouse kicked the side window out of the Patrol car. Charged with Criminal Mischief and Interference with official acts.

5-30-08        10:22pm Deputy Wingate investigated a single vehicle accident at E26 and Marion St, NW of Boone. Spencer B. Welch 19 of Boone was east bound on E26 when he said that he swerved to miss a deer, lost control and went off the T intersection into the ditch and yard, did hit a guide wire, belonging to Alliant. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $15,000.00 to his 2005 Stratus.

5-30-08        10:59pm  Deputy Wingate investigated several individuals on the wagon wheel bridge area. Two were cited for not having fishing licenses. Cited was James L. Kinsey 26 of Boone, and Joshawa B. Walters 23 of Pilot Mound.

5-31-08        2:38am  Deputy Wingate investigated a single vehicle accident at Hgihway 30 and 17. Derrick L. Morast 26 of West Fargo Iowa was west bound on ramp to highway 30 when he dropped his cigarette lost control and drove off the ramp striking a sign and immersed into 3 feet of water. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $15,000.00 to his 2004 Pontiac.

5-31-08        3:05pm  Deputy Haase investigated a two vehicle accident 1/2 mile West of Beaver on Highway 30. Louis C. Schaning  77 of Shaffield Iowa was west bound when he struck the back end of a slowing or stopping vehicle also on 30, operated by Chad L. Ridgely 39 of West Des Moines. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $3,000.00 to Ridgely's 1999  Jeep, and $2,000.00 to Schaning's 1996 Chrysler.

5-31-08        4:50pm  Deputy Haase investigated a single vehicle accident 3 miles North of Boone on Nature Rd. Matthew V. Johnson 34 of Boone lost control of his motorcycle, after he said that he was ran off the roadway by a Van that did not stop. Johnson received injuries and was transported to the Boone County Hospital by Boone County Ambulance. Damages were est. at $3,000.00 to his 2007 Chopper Motorcycle. Johnson was cited fro failure to maintain control.

6-01-08        1:29pm  Deputy Pontius arrested a Christopher C. Scott 57 of Ames on a Parole warrant, bond $10,000.00. Arrest made at 5615 West Lincoln way, Ames.

6-01-08        10:12pm  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop on Highway 169 just north of the Dallas County line. Driver Kelly L. Zimmerman 47 of Ogden was arrested for O.W.I. 3rd Offense. She was transported to the Boone County Jail.

6-02-08        11:04am  Tama County Sheriff's Office arrested a Brian S. Otto 33 of Montour Iowa on a Boone County Warrant.

6-03-08        11:34am  Deputy Thompson took a report of two bad checks received by a Boone Resident for services. The suspect or offender lives in Rural Boone County. Investigation continuing.

6-04-08        1:15am  Deputy Hoffman responded to a fire at Continental Laboratories Inc, in Madrid.  Madrid Fire and Woodward Fire responded, Polk City Fire was called for assistance.

6-05-08        12:50am  Deputy Wingate responded to an alarm sounding at the Untied Community School, was a false alarm, due to lightning from area storms.

6-06-08        8:26pm  Deputy Haase investigated a single vehicle accident 2 miles west of Woodward on L Ave. Joshua E. Jones 17 of Woodward was south bound on L Ave when he lost control and rolled his vehicle onto its side into the west ditch. Jones did not receive any injuries, a passenger Nicole Wilson 16 of Granger was taken to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines by her mother. Damages were est. at $5,000.00 to a 1994 Saturn. Jones was cited for failure to maintain control.

6-06-08        9:49pm  Deputy Hoffman investigated a car-deer accident in the 900 block of Highway 30. Stephanie Hammer 35 of Beaver was west bound when she struck a deer in the roadway, causing $1,000.00 in damages to her 1997 Mercury. No injuries were reported.

6-06-08        10:51pm  Deputy Hoffman investigated a car-cow accident on Highway 30 near B Ave, Far Western Boone County. Brandy R. Meyer 32 of Churdan was west bound when she struck a cow in the roadway.  Driver reported no injuries, a passenger complained of minor pains and said that she would get checked at Mary Greely on her own, she was Karen P. Shepard 50 of Ogden. Meyer's 2004 Oldsmobile received $15,000.00 in damages. Owner of the cow was notified and was Travis Doran of Rural Ogden.

6-07-08        1:14am Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop at E26 and U Ave. Driver Rachel D. Wicks 18 of Boone was arrested for O.W.I. 1st,  underage possession of Alcohol, and open container in her vehicle. Passenger Dama M. Linczer 16 of Boone was charged with under age possession of Alcohol.

6-07-08        3:11am  Deputy Wingate responded to the 700 block of 130th, Pilot Mound, as a man was having a panic attack and could not be controled by family members present, male was transported to the Boone County Hospital, by a Boone County Ambulance

6-07-08        3:24am  Deputy Hoffman and  responded to the 6100 West Lincoln way area as a man was claiming he could not stop cutting himself. Individual was located and taken to Mary Greeley with self inflicted cuts.

6-07-08        9:08am  Deputy Pontius responded to Monsanto at 1159 S Ave Boone. a 35 year old male welder working in construction site was electrocuted , individual was transported by Boone Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital where he was air lifted to Mercy in Des Moines.

6-07-08        7:39pm Deputy Haase responded to a complaint of mobile home that was burning at 1083 Y Ave. Owner of the mobile home Donald Whattoff of that address. Someone had possibly used the motor home to get a vehicle unstuck, investigation continuing.

6-08-08        1:49am  Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop at 335th and Highway 169. Driver Mark D. Mahoney 25 of Boone was arrested for 2nd Offense O.W.I., Driving while license revoked speeding, and no insurance.

6-08-08        2:14am  Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of an out of control teenager in the 400 block of 240th, Ogden, Deputy was able to calm all parties involved, appeared that there would be no further problems for the night.

6-08-08        6:06am  Deputy Haase responded to a complaint of cattle running loose in the area of E26 between the Fraser Corner and Camp Sacajawea Curve. Owner of cattle notified, Junior Boersma.

6-08-08        2:35pm  Deputy Haase responded to a complaint that people were driving around barricades and or moving them to get around to get to the River in the 1500 block of 250th, toward the Ledges State park.

6-08-08        10:20pm  Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of a horse caught in rising water at Magnolia Rd and 300th, Woodward. Owner of the horse was also in the water holding the horses head up. Woodward Rescue and Madrid Rescue responded. Boone Ambulance was also on stand by.  Owner of the Horse is Darren Welder and Theresa Painter of Rural Woodward, The horse did not survive the ordeal, no other injuries were reported.

6-09-08        8:01am  Deputy Thompson responded to a complaint of a vehicle going the east bound the west bound lanes of Highway 30, the vehicle was located west of Ogden, and driver Stanton Olson 90 of Story City was cited for speeding, no drivers license and failure to yield for an emergency vehicle.

6-09-08        7:35pm  Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint that vehicles were parked on the roadway by the road closer signs at Highway 30 and Montana. Deputy spoke to owners of the vehicles to get them moved.

6-10-08        2:38pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint by an observer at the new highway closure east side that he was witnessing to young males walking into the water about 150 out and up to their necks in the water and waving hands. Deputy located the two and told them of the dangers with the water current. The roads are closed for the publics safety and many people are walking past the barricades and walking into the water. Sheriff's Office has stationed to Officers at the site to keep people out of the area, not only are they endangering themselves by walking and swimming on the Highway, but parking in no parking areas.

6-10-08        8:46pm  Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint of a possible drunk driver on Highway 17 north bound from Luther. Vehicle was stopped and driver Michael R. McCool 43 of Boone was arrested for O.W.I. 2nd, driving while license revoked, and no insurance.

6-11-08        4:27am  Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop at Leaf Rd and E26. Driver Nicole R. McCabe 19 of Boone was processed at the Sheriff;s Office for .02 violation, driving while blood alcohol was over .02 but under.08 and under age 21. Also charged with Open container, and possession of alcohol under the legal age. Passenger Nichole M. ORourke 20 of Boone was cited for open container, and possession of alcohol under the legal age.

6-11-08        11:55pm  Deputy Wingate investigated a single vehicle accident on old 30 near the river bridge. Shannon McKenna 30 of Boone was east bound and unable to see because of heavy rain and drove off the roadway and went into the flooded ditch on the south side of the roadway, she was able to jump from the vehicle as it sunk into the flooded ditch. No injuries were reported. The 2004 Pontiac Grand Am was a total loss.

6-12-08        12:58am  Deputy Wingate responded to just south of Madrid into Polk County a call that a vehicle was observed swept away off the road at Highway 17 and 415. Polk County was dispatched, no one was found in the vehicle, Polk county will handle, individual had gotten out and left the scene.

6-12-08        5:23pm  Deputy Haase responded to the Highway 30 area at teh Des Moines River West side, on a complaint of teenage boys swimming in the River. Deputy located the boys and contacted parents. We have warned several individuals about swimming in these flooded rivers, creeks and streams, they are not safe, as there is debris, large trees and other items moving through the fast currents that could cause harm by hitting the swimmer or becoming entangled into the debris, or the swift current by itself could catch you off guard and pull you down stream. Please use common sense and stay out of the water.

6-12-08        11:48pm  Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop at E26 and U Ave. Driver Jimmie Bennett 38 of Ames was suspended X2 therefore arrested for driving while suspended and speeding. Passenger Jeff Elsberry 30 of Boone was cited for open container.

6-13-08        4:27am  Ames P.D. notified Boone County that they were in pursuit of a vehicle West bound on Highway 30 from the South Dakota Exit. Vehicle was stopped just into Boone County on Highway 30. Deputy Wingate assisted, Investigation will be completed by Ames P.D.

6-13-08        8:35am  Deputy Pontius responded to an alarm sounding at the Grand Community School in Boxholm was a false alarm.

6-13-08        9:06am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint reported by a room-mate that he came home to discover blood on the front steps of his residence in 6100 West Lincoln way, Ames. Individual living there has attempted suicide in the past, was located and was taken for psychiatric evaluation.
