8-01-09 1:53am Deputy Zeutenhorst reesponded to assist the Boone P.D. with a fight behind the bar of Shenanigans. One person was transported to the Boone County Hospital.
8-01-09 3:22pm An individual had arrived at the Boone County Jail to visit an inmate. It was discovered that this person Glenn Summers Jr. 27 of Glidden Iowa was wanted on a warrant out of Webster County. Arrested and transported to the Webster County Line.
8-01-09 10:58pm Deputy Zeutenhorst made a traffic stop at 230th and C Ave. Driver Edward J. Karp 23 of Truro Iowa, and Passenger Jacob L. Moore 28 of Earlham Iowa were both charged with open container of Alcohol in the vehicle.
8-02-09 12:58am Deputy Zeutenhorst made a traffic stop in the 1400 block of 190th. Driver Joshua Wingfield 26 of Boone was cited for speeding, passenger Lindsey M. Davis 24 of Boone was charged with open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
8-02-09 3:37am Deputy Wingate responded to the County line and then to Highway 141 to place stop sticks to assist the Perry Police who were in pursuit of a vehicle that was north bound. Operator of the vehicle saw the Boone County Deputy and turned and lost control and wrecked his vehicle, he then fled on foot. Wingate deployed Tasor the K-9 who tracked the suspect to his home in Perry where he was arrested by Perry Officer.
8-02-09 9:41pm Deputy Ruter and Naeve responded to the Ledges on a complaint that 3 kids had been lost in the Park and could not find their way back to their camp site. The mother was talking to them by cell phone. When Officers arrived the kids had found their way out. All O.K.
8-03-09 2:47am Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a complaint of a low power line at 2bd and Walnut in Boxholm. Damage from storm that had just gone through.

8-03-09 4:16pm Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint between property owners over an easement and gate issue between the properties in Moingona. Issue was tranferred to Township trustee's.
8-03-09 10:50pm Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a domestic situation in the 2300 block of Y Ave, Madrid. Deputy spoke to both parties and no charges at this time.
8-04-09 11:40am Deputy Godzicki assisted the Boone P.D. with a prisoner that had escaped from the Courts on the 3rd floor of the Courthouse. Individual was located several hours later in the City of Boone, By Boone Officers and their K-9 Unit.
8-04-09 5:00pm Deputy Hoffman responded to an alarm sounding at Syngenta Seed Building in the 2000 block of 330th, Slater was a false alarm.
8-5-09 12:27am Deputy Wingate and K-9 Taser responded to Poweshiek County in Montezuma to assist the Poweshiek County Sheriff's Office search for a missing woman with Alzheimers. At 3:10am K-9 Taser tracked the woman and she was returned home safely.
8-05-09 4:19pm Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of harassment in the 1300 block of Moonflower, Boone. Individuals involved were all spoken to. No charges at this time.
8-05-09 11:03pm Deputy Zeutenhorst was dispatched to Boone at Tama and 5th St. to cover an accident between a Boone P.D. Patrol unit and another vehicle. No injuries were involved. Patrol car wa operated by Officer David Powers 31 of Boone, and struck by another vehicle operated by Jodi Krambeer 45 of Boone. Krambeer was arrested for O.W.I. 1st Offense. Investigation completed. Krambeer was east bound on 6th St, and then turned right onto Tama, crossing the center line and striking a Police car that was stopped at the stop sign. Damages were est. at $3,000.00 to the 2007 Crown Victoria Police vehicle and $2,000.0 to Krambeer's 2004 Grand Am.. Additional charges filed on Krambeer include no insurance, and driving on the wrong side of the roadway. No injuries were reported.
8-06-09 8:21pm Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Highway 30. Driver Cassandra R. McConkey 23 of Ames was charged with driving while License Suspended.
8-06-09 11:19pm Deputy Wingate responded to a complaint of a vehicle that was on fire in the 1000 block of Y Ave. Vehicle was discovered by an Off duty Ames Officer, woman inside the vehicle was not injured. Kelley Fire responded. Believe that the woman had driven into grassy area and vehicle started on fire. Driver Sandra S. Fagan 53 of Ames was arrested for O.W.I. 1st.

8-07-09 1:52pm Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint by the County Rd Dept that they had found a vehicle in the ditch at 22nd and R Ave. No one was around the vehicle and less then $1,000.00 was observed in damages. The vehicle was impounded investigation continuing.
8-07-09 5:22pm Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of a concrete birdbath stolen from a residence in the 2300 block of Nectar Ave, Woodward. Turned out to have been taken by a person who claims that the owner of the birdbath owes him money. No charges filed at this time as a civil dispute.
8-07-09 8:04pm Deputy Zeutenhorst had made a traffic stop at 22nd and Story a male fled from the vehicle on foot north bound. City of Boone Cars responded. Zeutenhorst was able to capture the Offender. Matthew D. Desher 39 of Boone was wanted on a Dept of Corrections warrant for going armed with intent no bond. Also wanted out of Story County on another warrant for volutary absence from Curt Forbes Half way house, bond $20,000.00
8-07-09 10:41pm Deputy Zeutenhorst made a traffic stop on 140th and the Story County line. Driver Mindy S. Cardenas 31 of Schaller Iowa was arrested for driving while license suspended, and no insurance.
8-07-09 11:04pm Deputy Wingate responded to a domestic situation ar 724 U Ave, Boone. Arrested fro domestic assault was Stephen C. Smalley 50 of Boone.
8-08-09 7:01pm Deputy Ruter and Pontius responded to a domestic situation in the 1500 block of B Ave, Ogden. No arrests made at this time, investigation continuing.
8-09-09 7:38pm Deputy Ruter responded to a Multiple injury accident at Highway 17 and 190th. State Patrol and Deputy Pontius along with Boone Ambulance and Boone Fire all assisted at the scene. Air Ambulance was also dispatched. Investigation revealed that Adam E. Vanous 26 of Rowley Iowa was east bound on 190th, when he failed to stop at teh sign and struck the a vehicle on Highway 17 operated by Brenda Gregory 32 of Boone. Injured were both drivers and passengers in the Gregory vehicle, those passengers were Ronald Gregory 39 of Boone, and Anna Tilley 16 of Boone, and Nick Vandarwarka 17 of Boone. Vanous was treated and released at the Boone County Hospital, where he was arrested for O.W.I. 1st, and failure to stop at a stop sign. Accident investigation continuing.

8-10-09 5:44pm Sgt. Hurley took a call of dogs running loose in the area of 2100 block of 232nd Place, Boone. Humane Society was informed of the three dogs that are continuously running loose in this neighborhood.
8-10-09 8:28pm Sgt. Hurley responded to Madrid, as a Madrid Officer had arrested a Seth A. Leopold 21 of Madrid. Leopold was wanted on a Polk County Warrant, Deputy transported Leopold to the Polk County and served a protection order on him as well.
8-10-09 9:18pm Sgt. Hurley investigated a car-deer accident 3 miles SE of Boone on S Ave. Janet Prindell49 of Boone struck a deer in traffic, causing $1,500.00 in damages to a 2007 Ford Fusion. No injuries were reported.
8-11-09 1:40am Deputy Pontius investigated single vehicle accident 2 miles east of Pilot Mound on E18. Rachelle L. Rasmussen 22 of Alcester South Dakota was west bound on E18 when she apparently fell asleep and lost control then went into the south ditch. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $4,000.00 to a 1996 Chevy Cavalier.
8-11-09 8:05am Deputy Godzicki responded to a two vehicle accident at an uncontrolled intersection at 180th and G Ave.. Drivers that collided in the intersection were Dennis Wisecup 59 of Ogden and Josh D. Tucker 28 of Ogden. Tucker was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, and Wisecup was transported by Boone Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital and later transported to Mary Greeley in Ames. Tucker was east bound on 180th and failed to yield the right of way for the Wisecup vehicle that was north bound on G Ave. Vision was obscured by crops in the intersection. Damages were est. at $14,000.00 to Tucker's 2002 Chevy Silverado Pick-up, and $15,000.00 to Wisecup's 1999 Freightliner Semi and Trailer. Tucker was cited for failure to yield on right.
8-11-09 1:07pm Deputy Godzicki responded to an ambulance assist at the Ledges State Park. a75 year old woman had fallen near a bridge and received facial laceration. Boone Fire and Ambulance responded.
8-12-09 5:48pm Deputy Ruter investigated a two vehicle accident 2 miles East of Boone at 210th and Highway 17. Sandra Tillson 55 of Denver Colorado was stopped at S Ave north bound to turn east when she was struck from behind by another north bound vehicle operated by Benjamin Judson 27 of Badger Iowa. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $1,000.00 to Tillson's 2006 Kia, and $100.00 to Judson's 2001 Ford F150 Pick-up.Judson was cited for failure to maintain control.

8-14-09 3:42am Deputy Naeve responded to 21st and Story on a call of a man beating another man in garage. One person was arrested by Boone P.D. and another taken to the Boone County Hospital for treatment.
8-14-09 12:37pm Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint by Untied Community School that someone had drove a vehicle onto the football field and struck an aluminum bench, destroying the bench. Value Est. at $700.00.

8-15-09 3:01pm Deputy Ruter investigated a a single vehicle accident at the Ledges State Park on the Canyon Rd. Ledges Officer needed assistance with personal injury accident. Boone Fire and Boone County Ambulance responded. Branson M. Hehnke 16 of Boone was north bound and failed to negotiate a curve to the west, lost control and struck a tree. At the time of the accident there were 3 people in the cab of the pick-up and 6 in the pick-up box. Injured was the Driver, and passengers Travis Erickson 15, Brittany Smith 16, Autumn Anderson 15, and Cody Kinna 15 all of Boone. Damages were est at $5000.00 to a 1993 Chevy pick-up. Hehnke was cited for failure to maintain control.

8-15-09 11:43pm Deputy Zeutenhorst while in the area of L Ave South bound observed a possible drunk driver, who then fled on the Deputy when he turned on his red lights, the chase went into Dallas County when the vehicle a white truck with a silver box was lost. Speeds were in excess of 100mph.

8-18-09 4:07pm Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of a dispute over a trailer home at the Country Air Park east of Ogden. Dispute was between siblings one was renting from the other and where now having problems. Deputy spoke to both parties.
8-18-09 4:48pm Deputy Hoffman responded to the 600 block of E Ave on a complaint that a baby sitter had taken items including $400.00 cash from the home while baby sitting. No charges were filed as the owner was willing to give the baby sitter an opportunity to return items, which she agreed to do.

8-19-09 6:28am Deputy Ruter investigated a vehicle-deer accident at L Ave and 310th. Tony Eckard 22 of Madrid was operating a Walters Sanitary Garbage truck south bound on L Ave when a deer ran out in front of him. Eckert veered to avoid hitting the deer and rolled the truck into the west ditch. Eckard was taken to the Boone County Hospital by Boone County Ambulance. Damages were est. at $15,000.00 to an 2007 International garbage truck.

8-21-09 10:47am Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint of a car that had been struck while parked in a parking lot at Syngenta Seeds in the 2300 block of 330th. Appeared that vehicle that struck the parked vehicle had left. Damages were minor to a vehicle owned by Cassie M. Christensen 24 of Ankeny.
8-22-09 7:51am Sgt. Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident on Highway 30 mile marker 137. Driver Caroline Tate-Richey 46 of Des Moines was west bound, when she apparently dozed off hit some rumble strips, lost control and rolled her vehicle into the north ditch. Minor injuries but refused to be transported. Damages were est. at $7,000.00 to a 2006 Toyota. Tate-Richey was cited for no insurance.
8-22-09 3:18pm Deputy Hoffman responded to a 911 call of a woman who had been run over by a hover craft at the Des Moines River near the Kate Shelley High Bridge. Boone County Ambulance transported one female. Investigation continuing.
8-22-09 10:33pm Deputy Wingate assisted Search and Rescue with individuals who had called for help as they were stuck on a sandbar in the Des Moines River near the Ledges State Park. Search and Rescue were able to get to the people and requested an Ambulance to assist as individuals were extremely cold and needed to be warmed up. One Search and Rescue personal was injured and taken to the Boone County Hospital for treatment. Was completed by 3:09am.
8-23-09 3:18am Deputy Pontius and Hammer responded to a complaint of trespassing an fight call to a residence at 210 West Walnut, Ogden. Ogden P.D. was called out to assist. One person was taken to the Boone County Hospital with facial injuries, before he was arrested for trespassing, public intoxication, and assault charges. This person was released to the Hospital for treatment of injures to face charges after he is discharged. Facing charges is Matthew Kruckenberg 25 of Rippey, he went to the address in Ogden to fight with an individual who he confronted at a party earlier in Boone.
8-23-09 3:35am Deputy Wingate responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch in the 200 block of Y Ave, Boone. Arrested for O.W.I. 1st Offense was Calvin L. Clark 19 of Mystic Iowa. No damages were reported to his vehicle.
8-23-09 2:04pm Deputy Hoffman responded to the Boone County Hospital ER area, on a complaint of man with a knife was in the building threatening suicide. Individual was tazered by a Boone Officer, and taken into custody for evaluation.
8-23-09 10:20pm Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop on Quartz Just north of the Bell Salvage Yard. Driver Joshua C. Musser 24 of Ogden was arrested for possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraparnilia
8-24-09 4:31pm Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of a utility shed that had been broken into at Country Terrace Mobile Home Park, West Ames, in the 6100 block of West Lincoln way. Shed door in lot 33 had been broken and paint cans broken into. Deputy observed a bicycle tire that had driven through the wet green paint and drove around the park and he discovered a bicycle with green paint on the tires. Spoke to people in that home and an 8 year old boy admitted he did the break in, two other boys were located in the park all around the same ages, parents were spoken to. Owner of the shed and paint did not want to pursue charges will work it out with the families involved.
8-25-09 6:56am Deputy Ruter investigated a car-deer accident on 325th just east of Otter Place, Woodward. Elizabeth G. Layman 54 of Woodward was east bound when a deer ran out in front of her causing $2,500.00 in damages to a 2000 Chevy blazer. No injuries were reported.
8-25-09 8:59am Deputy Ruter responded to a vehicle fire at E18 and O Ave. James Greenley 56 of Boone was driving his 1999 Chevy Suburban when it became over heated and started on fire. Boone Fire responded, the vehicle was a total loss. No injuries were reported.
8-25-09 1:25pm Deputy Ruter began an investigation with the Boone Humane Society on a complaint of a dog bite that occurred in Centerville on Leaf Rd. Richard Wilson 54 of Boone reported that while checking on his cattle a dog came out of no where and attacked him. He did receive a dog bite that broke the skin to his right leg. Trying to determine who owns the dog and if the dog is current on shots.
8-25-09 9:12pm Deputy Hoffman responded to Madrid on a domestic situation to back-up a Madrid Officer. One person was arrested by the Madrid P.D. for interference with 911 Communications. incident occurred in the 200 block of E. 9th, Madrid.
8-25-09 10:33pm Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to the Story County line to pick-up a prisoner Kenneth L. Skjordal 49 of Story City, he was arrested on a Boone County warrant for driving under suspension. Bond $250.00.
8-26-09 12:36pm Sgt. Hurley responded to a single vehicle accident at Highway 169 and J Ave. Driver Julie Katzenmeier 37 of Ogden was west bound when she lost control and drove into the north ditch and struck an embankment. Katzenmeier was taken to the Boone County Hospital for treatment. A 2005 Toyota received $5,000.00 in damages. Charges are pending.

8-27-09 1:16pm Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint of a home broken into at 2099 290th. Taken was a some furniture, construction supplies and tools. Investigation continuing.
8-27-09 1:50pm Deputy Ruter investigated a single vehicle accident 1/4 mile south of 337th on A Ave, Bruce R. Vangundy 60 of Waukee Iowa was attempting to turn around on a muddy road, and the vehicle slid down an embankment and struck landfill equipment, belonging to the North Dallas Landfill. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $1,500.00 to a 2006 Dodge Dakota Pick-up. No ther damages were reported.
8-27-09 5:02pm Deputy Ruter took a complaint from a gentleman from Boxholm, who was getting phone calls from a company called Global Sweep stakes, and telling him that he had won $96,000.00. They wanted his credit card number to prepay taxes and other expenses to claim his alleged winnings. He done the right thing and did not give any numbers, again we cannot stress how important it is to never give any account numbers. If you truly have won a prize there is no need to give money to get money. Just another Scam.

8-28-09 10:25pm Deputy Wingate made a traffic stop in the 100 block of Highway 30. Driver Zachary J. Crabbs 21 of Redfield Iowa was cited for speeding, passengers Dallas J. Rhoten 21 of Linden Iowa, and Jason C. Chaloupka 25 of Yale Iowa were both cited for open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
8-29-09 8:32am Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint of a burglary to a residence at 81 B Ave, Paton. A firearm and antique toys were reported missing. investigation continuing.
8-29-09 10:06am Sgt. Hurley began an investigation of theft from a garage sale in the 1100 block of Montana Ln. Boone. Check from a closed account was used to make purchases over $130.00 at the garage sale, not sure in the name used on the check is the same and cannot be located at this time. Individual could be from Des Moines. Investigation continuing.
8-29-09 9:49pm Deputy Wingate investigated a single vehicle roll over on 270th. Cory Van Pelt 20 of Ames was west bound crossed the center line entered the ditch and rolled his vehicle in the south ditch. Van Pelt was taken to Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. Investigation continuing, charges pending. The 1999 Dodge Dakota was totaled.
8-29-09 10:32pm Deputy Hammer made a traffic stop in the 2100 block of E57. Driver Juan C. Gonzalez 20 of Perry was arrested for O.W.I. 1st.
8-30-09 1:29am Deputy Hoffman and Wingate responded to a single vehicle accident in the 900 block of L Ave. Joseph L. Greene 18 of Story City was east bound and failed to negotiate a left curve and drove out into a ditch. No injuries were reported. The 1997 BMW was totaled, Greene was cited for failure to maintain control.
09-01-09 10:22 am Sgt. Hurley responded to Grand Community School in Boxholm and took a report of five windows broken. It was determined that someone threw rocks at the windows to break them. Investigation is coninuing.
9-1-09 12:11 pm Sgt. Hurley responded to the 2000 blk. of 290th and investigated a storage unit breaking and entering. Investigation is contiuing. Damage was made to the door and lock.
9-1-09 9:36 pm Deputy Pontius arrested Bradley Sheeder, 19, of Perry for eluding after Deputy Pontius attempted to stop him for a traffic violation.
9-2-09 12:34 am James A Samples,18, unknown address was arrested for simple assault at the Don Williams campground.
9-2-09 18:58 pm Numerous 911 calls were received of a house fire at 403 5th Ave. in Luther. In addition, a 911 call was received from a sixteen year old female occupant of the house stating she could not get out of the upstairs. Neighbors rescued the girl and she was transported to the Boone County Hospital. The fire apparently started inside the garage and spread to the house very quickly. Two people were seen leaving the residence. We are looking for them to question. No names are being released at this time. Investigation is continuing and the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshall's office.
9-3-09 6:35 am Sgt. Hurley investigated an accident around T Ave and 200th. The driver, Scott A. Williamson, of Ames, was cited for Failure to maintain control for entering a ditch after passing a vehicle in the fog. Damages to his vehicle were estimated at three thousand dollars.

9-5-09 3:55 pm Deputy Hoffman was dispatched to the 2100 block of Violet for a Chevrolet Tahoe that was found burned in a field. Investigation is continuing.
9-6-09 12:42 am Deputy Zeutenhorst conducted a traffic stop on Highway 30 near the Lincolnway exit. The driver, Tamara J Gavin, 52 of Ames was arrested for operating while intoxicated and had additional traffic charges. The passenger, Christopher C Scott, 58 of Ames was cited for open container.
9-6-09 7:55 am Deputy Ruter responded to the 2000 blk. of E18 for a vehicle rollover. While at the scene, it was learned that an unknown vehicle sideswiped the victim's vehicle and continued on. The description of the Hit and Run vehicle was a gray Pontiac Transport. Some of the parts from this Transport was left behind. Investigation is continuing.
9-7-09 Deputies assisted Boone Police with several calls at the Boone Speedway track. One call was an attempted breaking and entering of a camper and the other call was keeping the peace.

9-7-09 11:48 pm Numerous 911 calls were received of a vehicle going Eastbound in the Westbound lane of Highway 30. Deputy Zeutenhorst stopped the vehicle just into Story county and cited the driver, Tyler Forest,22, of Ankeny for careless driving.

9-10-09 6:57 am Sgt. Hurley responded to the 300 block of E-57 for cattle on the roadway. Owners were notified.
9-10-09 8:16 am Sgt. Hurley responded to a two vehicle accident at E-26 and Highway 17 intersection. Fabia M Bracklein, 54 of Boone was driving Eastbound on E-26. Michele L Lucacik,34 of Boone was Southbound on Highway 17. Due to the fog, Bracklein did not see the stop sign at the intersection until it was too late, causing a collision with Lucacik's vehicle. Lucacik was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Bracklein was cited for failure to obey stop sign.
9-11-09 7:52 am Deputy Ruter responded to a two vehicle accident at P Ave and 130th. Sandra K Bauer, 43 of Boone was stopped at the stop sign on 130th . Jacob A Miller,16 of Boone was traveling in the same direction and could not stop in time, causing and rear end collision. Fog was a factor. Miller was cited for Fail to maintain control.
9-11-09 2:02 pm Deputy Hoffman met Ames Police at the Boone/ Story County line to pick up Daniel J McMahon, 19 of Bouton for a warrant.
9-11-09 5:14 pm Deputy Hoffman responded to 220th and X Ave for trespassers on Union Pacific property. Hoffman cited four of the following for Trespass: Vincent E Settles, 18 of Ames; Nicholas F Pospisil, 21 of Ames; and two juveniles of Ames.
9-12-09 11:53 am A two vehicle motorcycle accident happened at 200th and L Ave., causing minor injuries to both drivers. Robert E Schwab, 49 and Donald Woods, 59 both of Arizona approached the curve and tipped their motorcycles on their sides. One landed in the ditch and the other stayed on the road.

Michael L Platter, 50 of Pilot Mound left the scene before law enforcement arrival but was later found and arrested for operating while intoxicated and Intimidation with a dangerous weapon.

Jonathan R Whitten,22 of Madrid was Northbound on 17 and stopped for a non contact vehicle in front of him. Amanda L Smalley,23 of Boone was traveling in the same direction. Smalley became distracted and could not stop in time, causing a rear end collision.

Pauline B Marsh, 52 of Callender was Westbound on E-18. The vehicles collided within the intersection. Vladeff was cited for Failure to yield upon entering a thru highway.

9-21-09 12:36pm Sgt Hurley responded to a two vehicle accident at 110th and W Ave. Kimberley R Kline,53 of Stanhope was Northbound on W Ave. Melvin L Sturtz,53 of Boone was Westbound on 110th. Both vehicle met at an uncontrolled intersection. Both drivers sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital. Charges are pending for both drivers.

Nery Manzanarez, 42 of Carroll was traveling Eastbound on Highway 144 and lost control on the curve, rolling into a cornfield. Manzanarez was cited for Failure to maintain control. Other charges are pending. Manzanarez was taken to the Dallas County Hospital for injuries.

Wollner 31 of Ames was east bound rounding a curve NE when he lost control and rolled his vehicle into the NE ditch. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $3,000.00 to a 2003 GMC Sonoma Pick-up.
10-01-09 12:50pm Sgt. Hurley investigated a 3 vehicle accident 4.5 miles East of Boone on Highway 30. Vernon F. Greder 85 of Dow City Iowa was going west bound and then made a U-Turn on Highway 30 going against traffic, another west bound vehicle operated by Margaret Slawin 42 of Cary Illinois attempted to stop and was struck in the rear by another vehicle operated by James S. Lorenzen 43 of Boone. All traffic was able to stop and no contact was made with the Greder vehicle that was east bound in the west bound lanes. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $3,000.00 to Lorenzen's 1997 Dodge Ram, and $3,000.00 to Slawin's 1992 Plymouth. Greder was cited for driving the wrong way on a one-way.

Wright 43 of Boone was south bound on L Ave, when a tire blew out and he lost control of his vehicle and rolled into the west ditch. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $1,000.00 to a 1993 Toyota.
10-02-09 10:00am Sgt. Kendall arrested a Ronald R. Jones Jr. 53 of Tacoma Washington on charges of Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree, and Lascivious Acts with a child under the age of 12. This is a result of an investigation of an alleged act that took place in December 2007.Jones is being held in the Boone County Jail.

10-03-09 7:47pm Deputy Pontius and Hoffman responded to a complaint of a male that was threatening suicide, and family members believed he had a firearm in a garage located in the 1800 block of 200th St, Boone. Deputies located the male and used a tasor to subdue him, he was taken into custody and taken to the Boone County Hospital for evaluation.
10-03-09 10:25pm Deputy Wingate investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 east of the bridge over Beaver Creek. Kera A. Shriver 17 of Jefferson was west bound when she struck a deer, causing $1,000.00 in damages to a 1998 Dodge Durango. No injuries were reported.

Driver Nikolaus Roberts 25 of Boone was south bound on Division when he struck a mail box near West 16th. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $5,000.00 to a 2004 Ford Explorer. 10-10-09 6:30am Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch in the700 block of Monarch, just north of Boone. No damages reported to the vehicle. Logan T. Erb 20 of Boone was charged with under age possession of alcohol, and ..02 Violation. Passenger Eileen F. Hawkins 19 of Boone was charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age.
10-10-09 3:40pm Deputy Hoffman investigated a single vehicle accident in the 100 block of Highway 30, near Beaver. Christopher R. Ure 20 of Boone was west bound when he apparently fell asleep and drove off the roadway into a cornfield on the south side of Highway 30. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $1,000.00 to a 1995 Lumina.

10-12-09 10:01pm Deputy Wingate located a male that had wrecked his bike and hurt his face. Individual refused treatment. Arrested for Public intoxication was Anthony Godwin 37 of Boone. Incident took place at Mamie and Crawford.
10-13-09 7:05pm Deputy Pontius investigated a pick-up- deer accident at Montana and Highway 30. Joshua L. Laws 35 of Ogden was west bound when he struck a deer in the roadway, causing $2,500.00 in damages to a 2004 Chevy K1500 Silverado. No injuries were reported.
10-13-09 9:26pm Deputy Ruter made a traffic stop at 190th and R Ave. Passenger Thomas R. Rouse 54 of Boone was arrested on a Story County warrant, no bond for a drug violation. Taken to the Story County line for transport.
10-13-09 10:08pm The Office was contacted by family members of a hunter from Ames that did not return home. Family said that he hunts somewhere in Boone County, he reportedly left his residence around 6am that morning. A Deputy located the missing man's vehicle near State Hunting property on Old Highway 30 near the Des Moines River a few minutes later. Deputies and members of the Boone County Search and rescue began searching the area. Search continued until 12:30am, when it was called off do to low visibility and dangerous surroundings. Search was resumed at Day Light with additional surrounding search teams and search dogs along with Sheriff's deputies and Boone County Search and Rescue. If anyone has any further information please contact the Sheriff's Office at 515-433-0524. The Missing man is described as an Asian 4'11" 120 pounds, wearing camouflage clothing, black stocking hat and backpack 38 years of age.
10-15-09 12:30am Search and Rescue personal located the missing hunter, approximately 1 mile north and west of the location of where his vehicle was parked on State Public Hunting grounds. The Body identified as Khouan Khamlue 38 of Ames was taken to the State Medical examiners office in Ankeny. No foul play is suspected and cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner.
10-15-09 2:36pm Deputy Godzicki responded to a fire alarm at Garst Seeds west of Slater, was a false alarm.
10-15-09 4:45pm Deputy Hoffman investigated a two vehicle accident in the 2000 block of Highway 169, south of Ogden. Shayna J. Rea 18 of Boone was south bound on 169 when she crossed the center line and struck a north bound vehicle operated by Randall Sherman 60 of Fort Dodge. Rea was taken by ambulance to the Boone County Hosptial by ambulance and Sherman was taken to Trinity Hospital in Fort Dodge by Ambulance. Damages were est. at $10,000.00 to Rea's 2010 Dodge, and $9,000.00 to Sherman's 2007 International. Rea was charged with failure to yield 1/2 the roadway.

10-23-09 6:41am Deputy Ruter arrested a Jennifer Welcher 34 of Boone, after she turned herself into the Sheriff's Office on an outstanding warrant for probation revocation, original charge forgery, no bond.
10-23-09 8:30am Deputy Ruter began an investigation of a single vehicle accident that took place the night before around midnight, Driver left the scene, and then attampted to have it towed before it was reported. Driver Devan D. Hanson 25 of Boone was travelling west bound on 198th Rd, when he said that he fell asleep and drove off into the south ditch rolling his vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $2,000.00 to a 1994 Chevy Blazer. Hanson was cited for failure to maintain control, driving while license suspended, and no insurance.
10-23-09 8:56pm Deputy Zeutenhorst and Hoffman responded to a complaint of a 911 call that was received in the Communications center of a problem between a couple traveling on highway 30, the cell phone was abruptly stopped, and dispatch could not reconnect. Vehicle was stopped just west of the 4 way stop of Highway 30 and Story St. Arrested for knowingly and intentionally obstructing a 911 call was Kevin A. Melton 22 of Boone.
10-24-09 7:49am Deputy Ruter investigated a single vehicle accident. A report was generated that a vehicle was recklessly driving through yards and struck the Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm. John N. Malmquist 81 of Boxholm had left his residence and did not defrost his windsheild, lost control and drove through yards and finally was stopped by colliding into the Church. No one was injured. Damages were est. at $1,500.00 to a 1995 Chevy S10 Pick-up, and $7,000.00 to the church. No charges filed but re-exam will be reported to D.O.T.
10-24-09 7:54pm Deputy Hoffman investigated a car deer accident in the 800 block of Highway 17. Christine J. Lande 39 of Boone was south bound when a deer ran out in front of her, causing $1,500.00 in damages to a 2007 Chevy. No injuries were reported.

10-28-09 9:46am Deputy Hoffman investigated a complaint of a mailbox that had been vandalized in the 1400 block of 315th, Woodward. Reporting party heard noise the night before around 8:35pm, but did not call in the incident until the following day.
10-28-09 4:37pm Deputy Hoffman investigated a single vehicle accident in the 1900 block of Highway 30. David Russell 55 of Boone was operating an ISU Chevy Van west bound on Highway 30, when he lost control and drove into the medium. Injured was one occupant Julie J. Lyon 47 of Boone, she was taken by ambulance to the Boone County Hospital. Russell was cited for failure to maintain control. Damages were est. under $1,000.00 to a 2004 Chevy Van.
10-29-09 6:03am Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a vehicle that had gone into the ditch in the 400 block of Nature Rd. No injuries or damages were reported. Driver was given a ride back to Boone. Accident was due to heavy rains at the time.

10-30-09 8:05am Deputy Pontius responded to domestic situation in the 1900 block of Y Ave Kelley. Suspect had left, wanted for Domestic assault Pierre J. Jones 48 of Kelly.
10-30-09 7:20pm Deputy Zeutenhorst investigated a single vehicle accident. Stanley W. Jones 65 of Pilot Mound was north bound on P70 when a deer ran into the side of his vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $4,000.00 to a 2000 Buick. Took place 1 mile South of E18.
10-30-09 9:12pm Deputy Hoffman began an investigation of a several vehicle pile up in the west bound lanes of Highway 30 near mile marker 142. Jeff A. Stephenson 53 of Ames was pulled off to the side of the roadway on Highway 30 west bound, when without paying attention pulled out into traffic and was struck by another west bound vehicle operated by Calvin B. Bryant 18 of Ames, this caused both the Bryant and Stephenson vehicles to be stopped across the roadway and struck by another west bound vehicle operated by Dylan Rivas 19 of Panora Iowa, Rivas was then struck from the rear by another west bound vehicle operated by Katherine A. Buchanan 16 of Boone. Injured were all drivers and two passengers. Austin F. Thomas 19 of Clinton passenger in the Rivas vehicle and Brooke E. Warrick 16 a passenger in the Buchanan vehicle. All parties were taken by ambulance to Mary Greely Ames by Mary Greely and Boone County Ambulances. Damages were est. at $6,000.00 to Bryants 1995 Honda, $6,000.00 to Rivas' 1992 Toyota,$6,000.00 to Stephenson's 1996 Chevy Lumina, and $3,000.00 to Buchanan's 1999 Chrysler. Investigation continuing with charges pending.

10-31-09 2:50am Sgt. Wingate made a traffic stop in the west bound lane of 30 at WAve. Charged was a passenger Rose Lehrkamp 28 of Perry for open container of alcohol.
10-31-09 Deputy Godzicki finished up an investigation involving a couple who were disputing and driving separate vehicle in the 1000 block of 130th [E18]. Charges were filed on both drivers. Joshua B. Walters 25 of Pilot Mound for Reckless driving, and Driving while License suspended, and Heidi S. Walters 27 of Pilot Mound for Speeding.
10-31-09 9:20pm Deputy Ruter made a traffic stop at H Ave and 210th. Driver Eva M. Ruther 60 of Ogden was charged with driving while License suspended.
On Friday October 30th Detective Sgt. Kendall arrested two 14 year old boys from Ogden on 2 Counts each of Sexual Abuse in the 2nd degree. The victims in this case are under the age of 12 and this an intra family investigation. The 2 Juveniles will be bound over to the Juvenile Court system. The alleged crimes took place in July through Sept of this year.

11-02-09 6:26pm Deputy Hoffman investigated a Semi roll-over accident in the 1000 block of V Ave. Daniel S. May 21 of Osceola Iowa was south bound slowed down to pull over onto the side of the roadway, shoulder was soft and gave way and Semi and Trailer rolled into the east ditch. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $2,000.00 to a 1995 GMC Aero. Trailer was full of grain and spilled out into the ditch.

11-06-09 4:09 p.m. Deputy Pontius investigated an accident West of P Ave on 255th St. Muzhi Zhao, 29, of Ames was eastbound on 255th St. and lost control- sliding off the roadway and striking a tree. No injuries were reported.

11-08-09 1:20 a.m. Deputy Ruter conducted a traffic stop at 290th and M Ave. The driver, Kenneth S Hageman, 42, of Woodward, was arrested for Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
11-08-09 5:32 p.m. Deputy Hoffman investigated a car vs. deer within the 1500 blk. of Highway 17. Charles D Devos,49, of Osceola was northbound on Highway 17 when a deer ran in front of him. Approximately three thousand dollars in damages.

11-09-09 2:09 p.m. Deputy Hoffman , Officer Jones, Woodward rescue and Boone County Hospital responded to 310th and I Ave for a farm field accident. A Boone County man died at the scene. The name is not being released until relatives have been notified.
* An update to the Farm Accident- The man who died at the Farm accident has been identified as Larry E Barrett Sr., 72 of Madrid. According to witnesses, two empty grain wagons were being moved into the field at 310th an I Ave. , Barrett was struck by one of the grain wagons, causing the fatal injuries.

11-11-09 8:34 a.m. Deputy Pontius investigated a truck vs deer accident on the Erickson curves of Highway 30. Donald E Huntley,75, of Ogden struck a deer causing approximately five thousand dollars in damages to his vehicle.
11-11-09 9:48 a.m. Deputy Pontius investigated a three vehicle accident at Highway 169 and 30. The drivers of the three vehicles were: Bich T Dang33, of Perry; Rick W Molden, 55 of Urbandale; and David W Schiefelbein, 30 of Johnston. Schiefelbein was cited for Failure to stop at assured clear distance. Approximately nine thousand dollars in total damages.

11-22-09 7:49am Deputy Hammer investigated an accident that took place the night before just after midnight. Driver Tyler J. Gustoff 18 of Ogden was on 216th Dr, when he crossed the center line and drove off the roadway on a curve went 328 feet before hitting a tree, also damaged was 114 feet of fence. Both himself and a passenger had left the scene the night of the accident, and did not report and injuries. Damages were est. at $3,500.00 to a 1998 Dodge neon, and over $500.00 to a fence owned by Walter Jenkins. Gustoff was cited for failure to maintain control.

Deputy looked the area over and eventually towed the vehicle. No one was located. Driver was later located wondering and disoriented on Noble Hills Rd. Identified as Joshua J. Snyder 26 of Boone. Was treated at the Hospital in Boone. Damages were est. at $2,500.00 to a 2000 Mercury Sable.
11-23-09 1:22pm Sheriff Fehr took a report of a 4 wheeler that was reported stolen from the Fraser area. The Polaris 4 wheeler was last seen in October. Estimated value $1,200.00. Investigation continuing.
11-23-09 2:03pm Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a suspicious individual walking around the Noble Hills area south of Boone. Individual was taken to the Boone County Hospital as appeared to be on some type of drug or disoriented.

11-24-09 Deputy Pontius investigated an accident that had taken place the night before at the Ledges State Park. Daryl E. Hall 21 of Story City was west bound on the Ledges Rd when he lost control and went off the roadway and struck a tree, he then left the scene, and reported it the following morning. Damages were est. at $3,000.00 to a 1989 Honda Civic.

11-25-09 12:52am Deputy Zeutenhorst while on Patrol observed a vehicle leaving Condon's Service Station on West Mamie and sped off at 80mph, vehicle was then chased to Marion St, and then south and finally stopped near the speed way. Driver John A. Rose 27 of Boone was arrested and charged with Eluding trespassing and stop sign violations. Gas was reported stolen from the Station, Investigation continuing. One Patrol car did receive damages during the chase, no one was injured.

11-27-09 9:13am Deputy Godzicki investigated a single vehicle accident on Highway 30 east bound. Philip Marburger 32 of Gowrie was east bound when he lost control on the forst and struck the River Bridge Guard rails. No injuries were reported. Damages were minimal to a 2002 GMC pick-up. No injuries were reported. State D.O.T. was called out to sand as there were several vehicle that were fish tailing when the Officer was at the scene.
11-27-09 10:34am Deputy Godzicki investigated a two vehicle accident on Highway 30 and L Ave West of Boone. Beth Risdal 40 of Clinton Iowa was north bound on L Ave, when she stopped and then proceeded across Highway 30 into the path of a West Bound vehicle operated by Ronald Will 75 of Sioux City Iowa. The vehicles collided in the intersection, and the Ridal Vehicle was hit broadside and rolled into the NE Ditch. Ogden Fire and first responders, along with Boone County Ambulance and Ogden and Boone P.D. assisted at the Scene. Injured and transported to the Boone County Hospital with injures were both drivers and a passenger in the Will vehicle Dorothy J. Will 72 of Sioux City. Both vehicles were totaled, a 2007 Chrysler operated by Will and a 1997 Jeep Cherokee operated by Risdal. Risdal was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway, and no insurance.

12-02-09 4:55pm Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of several horses running loose in the area of 222nd Drive, Ogden. Owner David Larimore of Rural Ogden was notified and horses rounded up.
12-03-09 10:19am Sgt. Kendall took a complaint from a David Haub 57 of Boone, reported that he struck a deer the night before, but did not report. Adviced that he struck a deer in the west bound lanes of highway 30 near the Des Monies River Bridge. His vehicle had over $1,000.00 in damages. Because everything had been removed and reported hours later, no accident report will be made. I t is important for investigative purposes and for your insurance that you report your accidents immediately, so that the officer can verify road conditions driver conditions and everything surrounding the incident for reports.

Ouverson 16 of Stratford was south bound when he lost control on the frost and rolled his vehicle into the west ditch. Ouverson was taken to the Boone County Hospital by private vehicle with possible head injury. Damages were est. at $8,000.00 to a 2000 Chevy Blazer.
12-04-09 11:08am Sgt. Kendall took a report that a Rural Boone Resident had a firearm stolen at the Boone Sportsman club. He believes it was stolen during a event at the club back in July 2008.

12-05-09 2:47pm Deputy Hoffman responded to the 1600 block of 334th, St. Madrid, for an ambulance assist in that location.
12-05-09 4:04pm Ames P.D. arrested a Ominia M. Humad 19 of Waukee Iowa was arrested on a Boone County warrant, for failure to appear, bond $600.00. She was transported to the Boone County line and then to the Booen County Jail.
12-05-09 10:37pm Sgt. Wingate investigated a roll-over accident on 180th and Highway 17. Kent P. Thorsen 19 of Ames was west bound on 180th and missed a corner rolling into the west ditch. No injuies were reported. Damages were est. at $15,000.00 to a 2002 Ford F150. Thorsen was cited for failure to maintain control.
12-05-09 11:53pm Deputy Zeutenhorst made a traffic stop at 216th east of the river bridge. Deputy observed the driver Marvin R. Sutton 30 of New Providence Iowa switch drivers with his passenger. Turned out Sutton was driving while license barred, and had no insurance. The passenger who had become the new driver was also arrested for driving while license suspended on 6 suspensions for non payment of 6 driving violations. That person was idnetified as Craig Collins 28 of Nevada Iowa.
12-06-09 Evening of Sunday Dec 6th reports of several vehicle in the ditch from snow covered roadways. No injuries were reported.
12-07-09 Deputy Pontius was involved in attempting tobacco buys with a minor in Ogden and Pilot Mound. Georgia A. Lingren 55 of Ogden was cited for selling tobacco to a minor at Clarks Grocery in Ogden, Patricia J. Crouch 45 of Pilot Mound was also cited for selling tobacco to a minor at Decks Station in Pilot Mound.
12-07-09 10:12pm Deputy Hammer and Pontus responded to a domestic situation inthe 500 block of W Ave, Ames. During the investigation a shotgun was seen in plain veiw, and owner of the shotgun was convicted felon. Arrested for possession of a firearm as a felon was Jerry K. Pepper 56 of that address.
12-08-09 6:35am Deputy Godzicki investigated a 2 vehicle accident. Nicole Reynolds 22 of Boone was south bound on P Ave3.5 miles north of Boone, when she lost control and went into the west ditch and struck a vehicle that had gone into the ditch the night before. The second vehicle was owned by Diane Latterell 61 of Boone. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $4,000.00 to Ronaldson's 2001 Chevy, and $3,500.00 to Latterell's 2005 Chevy.
12-08-09 7:30am Deputy Godzicki investigated a two vehicle accident 3 miles east of Boone on Highway 30. Sarah E. Atkins 26 of St. Mathews S.C. was east bound on 30, when she lost control on the snow and spun into the path of another east bound vehicle operated by Terry Mumm 72 of Boone. Both drivers were injured. Damages were est. at $3,000.00 to Atkin's 2004 Chevy, and $4,000.00 to Mumm's 2006 Ford.
12-08-09 5:09am Deputy Hammer investigated a single vehicle roll-over on E18 North of Boone, just east of Nature Rd. Sherrie A. Conis 41 of Pilot Mound was east bound when she lost control and went into the north ditch, causing $12,500.00 in damages to a 2003 Ford Ranger. No injuries were reported.
12-08-09 4:29pm Deputy Lutz investigated a snowmobile and vehicle accident in the 1000 block of Maize Ave, just west of the City of Boone. Jon R. Farley 21 of Boone was driving his 1996 Articat snowmobile struck a fire hydrant and then a Van that was parked in a driveway. Van owned by Jayne Smith 52 of Boone. No injuries were reported. Snowmobile was not registered and did not have proper flags on the unit. Only minor damages reported to the 1984 Chevy van. Water District number 2 was informed of possible damages to the fire hydrant.
12-08-09 7:06pm Deputy Lutz located a vehicle in the medium on Highway 30 near the airport Rd. A Gary L. Kintigh 30 of Ames had just arrived to help the person who had gone into the ditch, and was charged with driving without registration, and driving while License Revoked. Vehicle in the ditch had received about $1,000 in damages and was operated by Laura Y. Bently 30 of Ames. Her 2010 Chevy received the damages, after Bently had lost control and went into the medium and struck another vehicle that gone into the ditch earlier, that second vehicle a 1987 Chevy Pickup owned by Ryan Spooner of Ankeny received $1,000.00 in damages as well. No injuries were reported.
12-10-09 1:44pm Deputy Hoffman responded to a comlaint by Emergency management coordinator Morlan that he had ran across an accident on 280th and Highway 169. Turned out the driver Justin Harrington 21 of Omaha Nebraska was driving while License suspended, and charged. No damages were reported to his vehicle that had gone into the ditch.

12-10-09 6:02pm Deputy Hoffman investigated a pick-up deer accident 1 mile east of the Woodward State Hospital on Highway 210. Driver Jason D. Abbas 38 of Perry was west bound when he struck a deer in the roadway, causing $4,000.00 in damages to a 1992Chevy S10. No injuries were reported.

12-11-09 7:27pm Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Highway 30. Driver Eddy Diosdado Jr. 18 of Fort Dodge was cited for speeding and possession of alcohol in the vehicle, a passenger Cody D. Harms 17 also of Fort Dodge was cited for possession of Alcohol. Parents were called.
12-11-09 10:31pm Deputy Zeutenorst responded to a complaint of a dead deer in the roadway on highway 30 west bound near Seven Oaks. Two drivers had struck the vehicle. Destina Margetta 17 of Ogden, and Paige E. Wooldridge 19 of Boone had struck the deer. No injuries were reported.
12-12-09 12:01pm Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of theft of furniture in a storage unit. Property was located and owner decided not to file charges. Incident took place in West Ames.

12-14-09 1:07pm Deputy Godzicki responded to an accident 2.5 miles east of Boone at Highway 30 and T Ave. Dauch R. Nyawoun 20 of St. Cloud MN. was east bound and passed another east bound vehicle operated by Mary K. Schon 55 of Carroll Iowa. Nyawoun after passing changed lanes and then lost control on the ice and snow, slid sideways and was struck by the Schon. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $2,000.00 to Nyawoun's 1999 Mercury, and $3,000.00 to Schon's 1999 Ford.

No injuries were reported. damages were est. at $1,000.00 to a 2004 Hyundai and $100.00 to a State of Iowa traffic sign.

12-14-09 5:18pm Deputy Hoffman responded to a two vehicle accident at 150th and T Ave. Ronald D. Anderson 61 of Stanhope was north bound on T Ave when he came up from behind of another vehicle that was also north bound and attempting to turn right onto 150th. Anderson was unable to stop and the vehicles collided in the intersection. Second vehicle operated by Marsha L. Crouthamel 57 of Boone. Crouthamel was taken to Mary Greely by Ambulance. Damages were est. at $1,000.00 to Anderson's 1997 Cutlass, and $6,000.00 to Crouthamels' 2008 Mercury Mariner. Anderson was cited for failure to stop within assured clear distance.

12-15-09 5:47pm Deputy Hoffman investigated a car-deer accident in the 600 block of P70. Andrejs Vaskis 55 of Des Moines was north bound when he struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $3,000.00 to a 2001 Lincoln Town car.
12-17-09 8:12pm Deputy Zeutenhorst rsponded to the western part of Boone County on Highway 30. Complaints were coming in of a vehicle that was passing dangerously on the highway. Vehicle was located and stopped near Ogden. Driver from Texas was checked out, passenger Clare S. Hall 20 of Cedar Rapids Iowa was charged with possession of drug paraparnilia.

12-18-09 2:30pm Boone County Sheriff's Office ad the Central Iowa Task Force executed a search warrant at 1977 210th St, Boone. Arrested was Ralph E. Hawkins 25 of that address, for possession of meth, ether, ephedrine, and lithium, meth lab was cleaned up by Haz Mat crew. Investigation is continuing.

12-21-09 7:30pm Deputy Ruter responded to a car-deer accident on the waterworks hill, NW of Boone. Driver John V. Burt 54 of Pilot Mound was east bound when a deer ran out in front of him causing $1,600.00 in damages to a 2007 Lexus. No injuries were reported.
12-21-09 8:47pm Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint of a vehicle that was reported in the ditch on I Ave between old and new 30. When Deputy arrived discovered that a 1986 Chevy P.U. had gone off the roadway and rolled once. No one was around the vehicle. At this time we are still unable to contact the owner to find out who was operating the vehicle. The Vehicle received damages, was towed and investigation continuing. Driver Identified as Joseph E. Williams 52 of Ogden, cited for failure to maintain control. Damages were est. at $3,000.00 to a 1986 Chevy S10 Pick-up. No injuries were reported.

Ray 33 of Dayton was east bound when she lost control on the ice and spun into the ditch backwards and rolled her vehicle into a field drive. Passenger Dianna L. Ray 58 of Dayton was injured and transported to the Boone County Hospital by Ambulance. Damages were est. at $1,500.00 to a 1993 Ford Explorer.
12-22-09 4:51pm Deputy Hoffman investigated a car-deer accident in the 1300 block of Highway 30 James F. Lehrman 62 of LeMars Iowa was west bound when a deer ran out in front of causing $2,000.00 in damages to a 2002 Mercury, no injuries were reported.
12-23-09 1:12am Deputy Gray and Zeutenhorst came across an underage alcohol party at 2346 QW Ave, Madrid. First individual they located was in a vehicle and was taken into custody, he was placed in the back seat of a patrol unit and did get out of the vehicle and ran from Officers. That individual has yet to be apprehended. Others that were cited for possession of alcohol are as follows. Taylor J. Booth 18 of Story City, Hannah Burt 18 of Ames. Keaton D. Smith 19 of Ankeny, Kylika Miller 18 of Urbandale, Luke Geneser 18 of Granger, Nathan B. Efkamp 19 of Madrid, and Johnny Mahoney 17 of Madrid. Scott L. Hudnutt 48 of Madrid was charged with providing alcohol to under age individuals. investigation continuing.
12-23-09 10:00am Sgt. Kendall arrested a Paul M. Neal 18 of Woodward for the following Escape Interference with Official acts, Criminal Mischief 5th degree, Open Container, and possession of alcohol under the legal age. Arrest was made after Neal turned himself into the Sheriff's Office. Mr. Neal was the person who had escaped custody of the Sheriff's Deputy from the earlier incident at 2346 QW Lane, Madrid. Bond set $1,000.00.

12-27-09 9:43pm Deputy Ruter while patrolling struck a deer in the 1100 block of Montana, Boone. Patrol car received minor front end damages, no injuries were reported.
12-28-09 9:00am Deputy Fangman investigated a single vehicle roll-over 6 miles East of Boone on Highway 30. Darla P. Earll 56 of Boone was east bound when she lost control and went across both lanes and wound up on its top in the Median of Highway 30. No injuries were reported. Damages were est at $3,000.00 to a 2004 Chevy Aueo.
12-28-09 10:14am Deputy Fangman investigated a single vehicle roll-over 1 mile East of Boone on Highway 30. Driver Crystal M. Knutson 17 of Boone was east bound when she lost control as she switched lanes to avoid another vehicle that was partially on the roadway, she then rolled her vehicle onto its top. No injuries were reporte. A 2003 Honda received $1,200.00. in damages.

01-04-10 8:10pm Deputy Hoffman stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of S. Story, Boone. Driver Roxie M. Garcia 26 of Ames was charged with driving while license suspended, and no registration.
01-05-10 3:23pm Deputy Fangman investigated a two vehicle accident 5 miles SW of Story City at 130th and Y Ave. Marina F. Corson 22 of Story City was west bound on 130th when she was struck by another north bound vehicle operated by Chad R. Strohman 34 of Jewell Iowa. Strohman failed to obey a stop sign and struck the Corson vehicle in the intersection. Corson was injured and transfered by Boone County Ambulance to Mary Greely Hospital in Ames. Damages were est. at $2,500.00 to Strohman's 2008 Chevy, and Corson's 1990 Plymouth was totaled. Strohman was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

Thompson 58 of Creston Iowa was southbound on 169 when he was unable to stop and slid through the stop sign and across Highway 30 onto D Ave. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $20,000.00 to a 1997 International Semi tractor and Trailer. Weather and road conditions were factor.
01-07-10 12:00pm for several hours Deputies assisted stalled motorists on Highway 30 west of Ogden and on highway 169 North of 30. State D.O.T. Plows assisted with Officers as well. These rescues continued until after 2am Jan 8th.

01-08-10 3:57pm Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of a house fire at 956 335th St, Woodward. Madrid and Woodward fire responded. Turned out to be a furnace malfunction, smoke was reported in the home, but no fire. No injuries reported.
01-08-10 6:28pm Deputy Hoffman responded to an personal injury 3 car accident north of Boxholm on Highway 169. State Patrol Covered the Accident, Webster County Sheriff's Office assisted by blocking traffic from teh North south bound. Mercy Air was called to the scene for two injuries, one infant and one Adult female, reports will be completed by the State Patrol.
01-08-10 7:02pm Individual had slid into the ditch south of Boxholm, while investigation and clean up taking place onthe personal injury accident. Deputy Hoffman completed that accident report at 9pm Christopher Stevens 29 of Lanyon Iowa slid into the Ditch, causing damages to his 1994 Jeep. No injuries were reported.

01-10-10 2:56pm Deputy Hoffman responded to the 200 block of T Ave, Boone, on a complaint of snowmobiles running through private property. One operator was stopped and spoken to about driving through yards.
01-10-10 5:46pm Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint by an individual who said that he was stuck in a snow drift in the roadway at X Ave and 140th. Needed towed. No damages or injuries were reported.
01-11-10 2:19pm Deputy Fangman investigated a two vehicle accident 5 miles NW of Boone on K Ave, Fraser Area. Abbigail A. Bloomquist 21 of Fort Dodge was east bound nagotiating a curve to the south, when she lost control on the ice and snow and side swiped a legally parked vehicle in a driveway. No injuries were reported. The second vehicle was owned by Sandra M. Vaughn of Fraser. Damages were est. at $1,800.00 to Bloomquist's 2002 Ford, and $1,000.00 to Vaughn's 1999 Pontiac.

01-16-10 11:00am Deputy Fangman investigated a two vehicle accident 3 miles West of Boone on E41. Huan Yang 25 of Ames was stopped at the T intersection stop sign on L Ave facing north, he then proceeded making a left turn into the path of an east bound vehicle operated by Dale A. Halbur 43 of Ogden. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $2,000.00 to Yang's 2000 Nissan, and $1,300.00 to Halbur's 1993 Ford Ranger. Yang was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

01-24-10 12:02am Deputy Fangman made a traffic stop at Highway 30 and Kate Shelley Dr. Driver Scott Kinne 42 of Boone. was arrested for O.W.I. 1st. Offense.
01-24-10 4:21 a.m. Deputies Zeutenhorst and Fangman came upon a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 30. The driver, Alex Golay, 18 of Coon Rapids left the scene but was later found and given citations for possession of alcohol and failure to maintain control. The passengers: Rudy Rodriguez, 18 of Coon Rapids was cited for possession of alcohol and Kelly Kopaska, 18 of Guthrie Center was arrested for public intoxication.

01-26-10 3:37am Sgt. Wingate responded to complaint of Semi's blocking Highway 169 north of Boxholm, was not able to get to vehicles as drifts were taller then the 4 wheel drive vehicle. Several vehicle were reported stuck in other areas including 169,and Highway 17
01-26-10 6:34am Deputy Godzicki responded to a vehicle that had rolled into the median on Highway 30, just east of the R18 Seven Oaks turn off. Driver Thomas Bell 26 of Ogden, Bell was east bound when he lost control due to ice covered roadways, and rolled his vehicle into the median. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $3,000.00 to a 1993 Ford F150.
01-26-10 Deputy Godzicki and Reserve Deputy Bradke assisted with traffic control on Highway 169, 1/2 mile south of Boxholm, with vehicles that were stuck in the middle of the roadway from the snow storm. Semi's also in the mix, completely shutting down 169. State Plows and Tow trucks took several hours to get cleaned up. Also same problems north of Boxholm.

Besco 54 of Ames was not injured, but when he had left and returned to tow the vehicle his snowblower had been stolen. Snow blower est value at $1,000.00 for theft report. Investigation to accident and theft continuing.
01-26-10 3:27pm Deputy Hoffman investigated a roll-over accident in the 1900 block of Highway 30 Andrew L. Hanft 19 of Gilbert was east bound when he struck a patch of ice and lost control, rolling his vehicle into the median. Driver received minor injuries and was transported by Ambulance to the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.Damages were est. at $2,500.00 to a 1984 Saab.
1-27-10 8:27am Deputy Gray investigated a complaint that a State Plow had pushed snow into the side of his parked vehicle along Highway 17 in the 1200 block. Dick Wiese 59 of Rural Boone, had a 2010 Dodge Pick-up parked along the roadway by his driveway, and a snow plow pushed snow up against the vehicle causing $2,500.00 in damages and also reported his mailbox was struck.
1-27-10 5:42pm Deputy Hoffman investigated a single vehicle accident in the 1900 block of Highway 30. Mason L. Nicklos 19 of Ogden was east bound nagotiating a curve when he lost control and rolled his vehicle into the median. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $4,000.00 to a 2001 Chevy Blazer.
1-28-10 7:01pm Report from Ames P.D. of possible drunk driver West bound on Highway 30 from S. Dakota, vehicle was located and stopped by Montana and Highway 30. Driver was field tested and was not intoxicated.
01-29-10 11:13pm Deputy Fangman stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 800 block of Highway 17. Driver Travis Teague 30 of Fort Dodge was charged with open container.
01-30-10 5:08am Deputy Fangman investigated a car deer accident that took place on L Ave, between old and new 30. Driver Debra J. Ray 52 of Boone struck a deer on the roadway, causing under $1,000.00 in damages to a 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo. No injuries were reported.
01-30-10 11:39pm Deputy Zeutenhosrt and Fangman responded to the Pilot Mound Tavern, the Twister on a complaint of possible under age possession of alcohol. Two individuals were located outside the Tavern, and both cited for under age possession of Alcohol. No one in the Tavern was under age. Cited were Andrew T. Knobbe 19 of Lohrville Iowa, and Paul D. Johnson Jr. 20 of Gowrie, for under possession of alcohol.
01-31-10 10:19am Deputy Godzicki responded to a domestic situation at 965 222nd Drive Ogden Lot 4. Arrested for Domestic assault was Chalon D. Engleen 46 of that address.
02-01-10 1:22am Deputy Ruter and Sgt. Wingate responded to a call in Boxholm that someone was attempting to get into an occupied home in the 200 block of 2nd St. When Officers arrived they found no one around the home and checked the town for anyone moving around and all was quiet. Home owner was O.K.
02-01-10 10:21 p.m. Sgt. Wingate and K-9 assisted Ogden Officer Jones with a traffic stop that resulted in an arrest. Arrested was Becky S Kinyon,41 of Perry for possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernailia.
02-02-10 8:00 a.m. Deputies Gray and Pontius responded to the 1900 block of Highway 17 for a two vehicle head on accident. Jason M Elgin, 27 of Madrid lost control on Highway 17 as he was driving North. The vehicle went into the southbound traffic making contact with the other vehicle driven by Sue M Hoover, 54 of Webster City. No injuries were reported. Damages estimated at ten thousand dollars. Surface conditions were a factor.
02-04-10 2:35 a.m. Deputies Zeutenhorst and Fangman came across an occupied vehicle in the ditch on 250th west of Highway 17. The driver, KaitlinWestphal,20 of Gilman was cited for .02 violation, possession of alcohol and failure to maintain control. The passenger, CynthiaWestphal, 51 of Gilman was cited for open container. 02-06-10 7:30 a.m. Deputy Godzicki was dispatched to a single vehicle accident within the 300 block of Nature Road. The driver, Kyle D Muench,17 of Pilot Mound was southbound on Nature Road and lost control. Surface conditions were a factor. Driver was also cited for defective tires.
02-06-10 8:54 p.m. Deputy Ruter responded to a reckless driver call and located the vehicle on Highway 169, North of E-57. The driver, Nicole M Burlage34 of Marion was arrested for Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
02-08-10 8:37 p.m. Deputy Hoffman arrested Rodney A Lambert on a Boone County warrant.
02-09-10 6:59 a.m. Deputies Pontius and Gray responded to a vehicle in the ditch on New 30 one and half miles West of McHose Park. This was a truck owned by Union Pacific. No injuries. During this time, Deputies were also dispatched to the 144 mile marker on Highway 30 for another vehicle in the ditch.
02-09-10 3:09 p.m. Deputy Hoffman, Boone Fire, and Boone Hospital responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on Highway 30 near Highway 17. Donna M Powers of Boone was traveling Eastbound and lost control due to surface conditions causing the vehicle to roll onto it's top. No injuries were reported. The driver received a ride into Boone by the paramedics.
02-09-10 3:10 p.m. Deputy Hoffman, Detective Kendall, Chief Deputy Elsberry and State Patrol assisted with a semi tractor/ trailer that went into the median on Highway 30 at the Erickson Curves. No damage to the vehicle.
02-10-10 1:59 p.m. Deputy Pontius responded to Highway 30 near Noble Hills reference to windows being broken out on an unoccupied vehicle. Investigation is continuing.
02-11-10 8:58 a.m. Deputy Spencer arrested Breget N Medley of Boone on a Boone County Civil Warrant.
02-12-10 8:45 p.m. Deputy Ruter responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on 270th near W Ave. The driver, Julie R Wade, 19 of Madrid lost control as she was Westbound on 270th. She was given a citation for Failure to maintain control.
02-12-10 11:52 p.m. Deputy Ruter stopped a vehicle at 110th and P Ave. and arrested the driver, Cheri A Moran, 49 of Webster City for operating while intoxicated.

02-26-10 11:43am Deputy Godzicki responded to a medical assist, farmer had called in saying that he had fallen in a cattle lot NE of Boxholm on 120th between E and F Ave. Boone Ambulance and Ogden fire responded, appeared to have broken leg.
02-26-10 6:02pm Sgt. Wingate responded to Seven Oaks Recreation on a medical assist with injury at the Ski area. Boone Ambulance responded.
02-26-10 11:12pm Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of an underage drinking party at 2271 L Ave. Woodward. Deputy was assisted by other Deputies and cited the following individuals for possession of alcohol under the legal age. Taylor Booth 18 of Story City, Brett Moore 18 of Madrid, Nicholas Ridler 19 of Woodward, Trevor Edmundson 18 of Granger, Meleah Brown 19 of Madrid, Timothy Heasley 19 of Granger, Charles Manning 18 of Woodward, Cody Frantum 20 of Woodward, Thomas Aldrich 18 of Granger, Jennifer Coughenour 19 of Maxwell, Anthony Hewitt 18 of Granger, Jeremy Forristall 17 of Madrid, Allison Cataldo 17 of Madrid, Talor Wade 17 of Madrid, and Brenda Plank 17 of Madrid. Others charged with possession of Marijuana include Austin Sheldahl 20 of Woodward, Morgan McCarty 20 of Linn Grove, and Nicholas Geneser 21 of Granger. Derrick Hoffman 19 of Sibley Iowa was charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age and Interference with Official Acts.

02-28-10 1:04am Deputy Hoffman reported he was out with a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of 190th, Ogden. Driver Danielle Titus 28 of Ogden was arrested for driving under suspension and O.W.I. 2nd.
02-28-10 3:00am Sgt. Wingate made a traffic stop in the City of Boone on Marshall, street Deputy observed the driver and passenger switch locations before the vehicle stopped. Turned out the both persons were suspended to drive. Both Charged with driving with no valid license were Kyle Kirkman 16 of Boone, and Spencer Sisco 21 of Boone.

3-02-10 12:27pm Deputy Pontius responded to 1355 H Ave Reference an ambulance assist with an individual working on the farm who had fallen. The 76 year old male was airlifted by Life flight to a Des Moines Hospital with serious injuries.
3-02-10 11:19pm Deputy Hoffman made a traffic stop at Highway 30 and Montana. Driver Justin Garrey 34 of Ames was charged with no valid drivers license and possession of drug paraphernalia.
3-04-10 6:44pm Sgt. Wingate and Deputy Zeutenhorst arrested a Tamara Platter 46 of Pilot Mound at 749 130th St, Pilot Mound for violation of a no contact order, also arrested for a violation of no contact was Michael L. Platter 50 also of Pilot Mound. No bond.
3-06-10 12:58am Deputy Zeutenhorst investigated a suspicious vehicle at the M Ave Boat Ramp. Individuals in the vehicle were charged with the following. Tyler Rhoades 16 of Boone was charged with possession of drug paraparnilia, Logan R. Burke 17 of Boone charged with possession of drug paraparnilia, and possession of marijuana. Also Justin Miller 18 of Boone was charged with possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraparnilia.

Mansaray 52 of Columbus Ohio was north bound when he dropped off the roadway onto the shoulder and during correction Jack-knifed in the center of the roadway.
