8-01-07 9:48a.m. Sgt. Hurley responded to 170th and R Ave for a single vehicle roll over accident. Sierra Schnoebelen,17 of Scottsdale Arizona was Eastbound on 170th and entered the ditch after she lost control of 2000 Nissan Sentra she was driving. No injuries were reported.
8-01-07 10:33a.m. Sgt. Kendall responded to 1038 155th to take a complaint of a threatening letter the resident received. Investigation is continuing.
8-01-07 2:06p.m. Sgt. Kendall arrested Lisa Pierce, 28 of Boone at the Boone County Sheriff's Office for a probation revocation warrant.
8-02-07 11:03p.m. Deputy Godzicki responded to the 700 block of 220th Street for an accident involving a vehicle and an animal. The vehicle, operated by Wayne Morris,55 of Jefferson received minor damage. It was non reportable.
8-03-07 7:52pm Deputy Wingate responded to a complaint of a vehicle that had blown a tire and gone into the ditch at P70 and E18. After further investigation the driver of that vehicle was identified as Gannon M. Hendrick 22 of McCallsburg Iowa. Hendrick was arrested for O.W.I. 1st. Offense.
8-04-07 2:40am Deputy Naeve responded to a report of a possible drunk driver south bound on P70 from Highway 175. Vehicle was located and stopped on P70 in Boone County. Driver Sean W. Hokel 31 of Panora Iowa was arrested for O.W.I. 1st Offense.
8-03-07 11:01pm Deputy Naeve and Rohden responded to a complaint at the Ledges State Park of under age individuals consuming alcohol. Charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age were Jenny Mack 18 of Ogden, and Scott McCambridge 18 of Boone.

8-07-07 3:45pm Deputy Wingate investigated a car deer accident 1/2 mile east of Highway 169 on E26. Paula J. Chiri 49 of Pilot Mound was west bound when a deer ran out in front her causing $2,500.00 in damages to her 1994 Buick. No injuries were reported.
8-07-07 8:51pm Deputy Wingate observed an ATV on Corp property west of Madrid. Arther Beek 39 of Madrid was cited for operating an ATV on Corp property and an operating with a passenger aboard.
8-07-07 10:17pm Deputy Godzicki made a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Highway 169. Driver Dmitriy L. Naumenko 18 of Littleton Colorado was cited for no drivers License. His License showed to be suspended in Colorado. Was not allowed to operate any further.
8-08-07 12:40pm Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint of a slow moving vehicle on Highway 17. The vehicle was located at the Ledges State Park was an elferly woman from Ankeny who had lost her way. She was assisted.
8-08-07 4:25pm Deputy Wingate responded to an alarm sounding at Syngenta Seeds in the 2000 block of 330th, Slater, was a false a alarm, all O.K.
8-08-07 5:54pm Deputy Wingate investigated a two vehicle accident on Industrial Rd, Just East of Boone. Jennifer E. Schoff 37 of Boone was west slowing down to turn left when she was struck from the rear by another west bound vehicle operated by Robert P. Jones III 27 of Boone. Both drivers were taken to the Boone County Hospital with possible injuries. Damages were est. at $5,000.00 to Schoff's 2004 Ford Explorer, and $10,000.00 to Jones' 1994 Mercury Sable. Boone Ambulance was on scene.
8-08-07 8:04pm Deputy Wingate arrested a Mark Haase 21 of Boone on a Boone County Warrant for violation of a no contact order. Taken to the Boone County Jail.
8-08-07 8:53pm Deputies from the Boone County Sheriff's Office responded to a hit and run accident that took place on County Rd R18 approximately 4 miles NW of Woodward. A 53 year old Boone County Man was riding his bicycle north bound on R18 when according to witnesses was struck by a north bound dark colored vehicle. The vehicle that struck the Bicyclist continued north bound leaving the area. The Bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Woodward Fire, Boone Ambulance, Woodward Police and the State Patrol were all on the scene. At this time evidence is being gathered at the scene and if anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Boone County Sheriff's Office at 515-433-0524. The victim was taken to the State Medical Examiners Office in Des Moines, and evidence collected will be taken to the State DCI Lab for analysis. The Victim has been identified as 53 year old Mark Snopek of Rural Boone.
8-09-07 7:54pm Deputies from the Boone County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a child found in a pool in the 600 block of Nature Rd, Boone. The parents of a 2 year old boy found their son in the family pool and the child was un-responsive. Boone Ambulance and Boone Fire also responded, along with Mercy Air Life. Rescuers attempted C.P.R for almost an hour before Medical personal from Mercy had the Boone County Coroner called to the scene to pronounce the 2 year old dead at the location. Investigation will continue. Name of the Victim in this case is Ronnie Elsberry age 2 of 637 Nature Rd, Parents are Gayle and Roy Eslberry.

8-10-07 2:41pm Deputy Wingate investigated a two vehicle accident in the 1100 block of 198th, NW of Boone, Jack R. Albert 58 of Boone was pulling out of a driveway to go east and met a west bound vehicle in the roadway operated by Meighan M. Brown 18 of Boone, the two collided, no injuries were reported. Damages were est.at $3,000.00 to Albert's 1997 Buick, and $2,000.00 to Brown's 1988 Chevy S10.
8-10-07 5:07pm Deputy Pontius received information that a Dirt Bike had been stolen from a shed in the 400 block of I Ave, bike was being stored for another party. The birt bike a 2005 Green Kawasaki last seen on August 8th has been reported stolen.
8-10-07 5:39pm Polk County informed Boone County that they had arrested a Rodney A. Mitchell 20 of Ankeny on a Boone County warrant for failure to apppear, bond $600.00. was transported to the Boone Counyt line for pick-up to the Boone County Jail.
8-11-07 9:16am Deputy Pontius responded to an alarm sounding at the United Community School, was a false alarm. Construction workers had set it off.
8-11-07 11:02pm Deputy Dominick made a traffic stop at the Ledges State Park, a passenger in the vehicle was wanted out of Dallas County Arrested was Edward J. Polzin 28 of Woodward on a Dallas County warrant fo probation revocation, Dallas County met at the County to transport to their jail.
8-11-07 11:24pm Deputy Dominick and Godzicki responded to a single vehicle accident 3 miles East of Boone on Highway 30. Michael D. Bowden 55 of State Center was east bound when he lost control of his motorcycle on the Erickson curves and struck and embankment of 230th. CPR was started by Officers on the scene, and Bowden was pronounced dead at the Boone County Hospital. Boone P.D. Officers Boone Fire and Boone Ambulance were on scene. Damages to Bowden's 1997 Harley Davidson Motorcycle were est.at $7,000.00. Investigation continuing.
8-12-07 1:35pm Deputy Pontius responded to the 500 block of Kale as the residence in this area found a box floating the rivier, thought it was a tackle box, but turned out to be a box with drug paraphernalia inside. Deputy collected the items.

Hurley responded to a complaint from Perry P.D. that they had responded to a Domestic situation and the male party had fled and believed to have gone into Boone County at a Woodward address. Curtis Jurgensen 43 of Perry was arrested at 2358 K Ave Woodward, and transported over to Dallas County. Charges of Serious Domestic assault.
8-13-07 10:50am Deputy Wingate responded to a complaint by Ron Leaman of Rural Boone that someone had dumped 2 refridgerators, a stove and mattresses along 150th in Northern Boone County
8-13-07 11:58am Deputy Wingate responded to a complaint of a network receiver that was stolen from West Central Co-op in Boxholm. The unit was attached to the outside of the building and someone removed it by cutting the wires. Valued at over $900.00.
8-13-07 2:53pm Detective Kendall arrested a Ralph E. Hawkins 23 of of 1977 210th St. Boone. That was the location of the arrest was made. Hawkins was arrested on a Boone County Warrant for Simple assault, bond $300.00.
8-13-07 6:08pm Sgt Hurley responded to a compliant by Alan Newman that a neighbor had mowed his yard and ran over a decorative light. Neighbor was spoken to and advised to stay off the Newman property.
8-13-07 2:23pm Sgt. Hurley received a complaint from Camp Mitigwa in the 1700 block of Magnolia Rd. They reported a projector had been stolen from storage in their Dining Hall. The Projector is was just purchased and valued at $1,900.00.

8-15-07 8:50am Sheriff Fehr and Sgt Kendall executed a writ of ejectment at 626 Jefferson. Writ was completed by 1:30pm.
8-15-07 7:50pm Deputy Dominick arrested a Jonathan R. Wittrock 35 of Ogden on a Boone County warrant , probation revocation, original charge possession of meth with intent to deliver, bond $10,000.00.
8-16-07 11:16pm Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a person who ran into a vehicle with her car at Rolfe's Co, 1773 219th Lane, Boone. Helen Pratt 93 of Boone ran her 2000 Buick Century into the side of the Rolfe's building, minor damages were reported, and no injuries.
8-16-07 1:03pm Deputy Pontius investigated a two vehicle accident 1/8th of mile north of Boone on P Ave. Lawrence Davis 66 of Des Moines was north bound on P Ave when he made a left turn in front of a south bound vehicle operated Brian R. Young 25 of Stratford. Neither of the drivers were injured, passengers in the young vehicle Myra Young just 4 months old and Ella Young 2 years of age were taken to the Boone County Hospital with minor injuries. Damages were est. at $13,500.00 to Davis' 2002 Ford F250 and $16,000.00 to Young's 2000 Chevy Silverado.
8-16-07 3:29pm Deputy Wingate assisted by an Ogden Officer responded to Orville Millers Salvage as he had persons there that were selling copper that fits the description of the theft from Bell Salvage in Boone. Investigation continuing.
8-17-07 7:38am Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint of cross country girls track members from Boone were running on old Highway 30 and the girls were taking up a large portion of the roadway causing traffic difficulty and hazards to their own safety. These Track Girls turned out to be from Ogden, Not Boone.
8-17-07 7:10pm The Woodward academy contacted 911 stating that they had a male with an asthma attack and requested an Ambulance. At 7:16 there was another 911 call made of another male with similar reactions, by 8:00pm there were several other students all having the same reactions to unknown substance or cause. Ambulances and rescue personal from Boone, Ogden, Madrid, Green County, Guthrie County, Dallas County, Polk City, Granger, Mercy, Mary Greeley, Grimes, Johnston, Grand Jct, West Des Moines, Clive, Urbandale. Boone and Dallas County Sheriff's Offices, Madrid, P.D. and Boone County Sheriff's Reserves. Haz-Mat and Dallas and Boone County Emergency management were also on scene. All Academy students were evacuated to other facilities. Approximately 50 students were taken to various area Hospitals for treatment of what turned out to be carbon monoxide poisoning . Boone, Dallas and Des Moines Hospitals took the bulk of the the students for treatment. The Cause of the Carbon Monoxide has not been determines although Haz-Mat gave the O.K. to return Students on Saturday.
8-18-07 9:59am Deputy Wingate investigated a two vehicle accident in Boxholm on 2nd Street. Doris Peterson was backing from a parking stall and then when engaged her vehicle into forward accidentally hit the accelerator and struck another parked unit and rammed it into the sidewalk. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $1,000.00 to Peterson's 1988 Dodge, and $1,000.00 to Linda Swanson's 2004 Chevy, Both from Boxholm.
8-18-07 11:17pm Deputy Dominick responded to the Ledges State Park on a compliant. Deputy and Park Officer located tow individuals. Spencer McCurinin 20 of Des Moines was arrested for Possession of marijuana, and Cornelius McGarvey 19 of Des Moines was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
8-19-07 2:06am Deputy Godzicki made a traffic stop at L Ave and Highway 30 after another motorist complained that the operator could be intoxicated. The driver James A. Justice 29 of Manilla Iowa was arrested for O.W.I. 2nd Offense.
8-20-07 3:55pm Deputy Thompson Investigated a two vehicle accident at E ave and 335th. Nicole Neuhalfen 17 of Perry was north bound on E Ave when she struck loose gravel and loose control then struck a south bound vehicle head on, that vehicle was operated by Emery Hanson 84 of Perry.both drivers were injured and a passenger in the Hanson vehicle Dorothy Hanson 85 of Perry was taken to Mercy by Dallas County Ambulance. All taken to Mercy. Damages were est. at $8,000.00 to Neuhalfen's 1996 Mercury Sable and $8,000.00 to Hanson's 1993 Dodge Dakota. Neuhalfen was cited for failure to maintain control.
8-21-07 3:23am Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint in Madrid by a Cab Driver from Yellow Cab who claimed to have been assaulted and cab damaged. Driver still had credit card of the customer. Assault took place in Dallas County so investigation was turned over to them.
8-21-07 6:29am Deputy Dominick arrested a Randy D. Breuklander 39 of Boone turned himself into the Sheriff's Office on a Boone County warrant for probation revocation, original charge of criminal mischief 4th degree.
8-22-07 12:56am Deputy Pontius responded to an alarm sounding at Patterson Dental building in Boone, weather related, Boone P.D. cars were busy on fire call at the time.
8-22-07 1:02am Deputy Pontius responded to an alarm sounding at teh Barrett Moving and Storage facility in West Ames, another weather related alarm.
8-22-07 6:35pm Sgt. Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident 1 mile NW of Ogden on 210th. Megan Wilson 26 of Ogden was west bound on gravel and lost control and rolled her vehicle into the north ditch. No injuries were reported. damages were est. at $4,500.00. to her 2002 Dodge Intrepid.
8-23-07 7:05am Sgt. Hurley responded to a single vehicle accident 4 miles NE of Woodward on Magnolia Rd. Cody M. Johnson 21 of Woodward was attempting a right turn and missed the intersection and rolled his pick-up into the ditch. Driver was not at the scene, but was found a couple hours later. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $4,000.00 to his 1997 Chevy S10. Johnson was charged with failure to maintain control.
8-23-07 12:12pm 911 operator took a call that a vehicle had gone into the Big Eddie East of Fraser on 166th. After Deputies arrived and search and rescue, it was determined that the complainant did not see a vehicle go into the Des Moines River, but did witness a black Chevy S10 Enter that area and he did not see it return. Another Witness heard a motor Rev up but did not see a vehicle in the River. Search and Rescue did search the area and Mercy One did have a helicopter fly the river. No persons or vehicles were found. The River is raging and rising about an inch an hour, and there is a possibility that the river is deep enough to hide a vehicle. At this time because there is no actual report of anyone missing and the danger of the river the search was called off. Boone Fire and Ambulance were also on the scene.
8-24-07 6:22pm Deputy Pontius assisted a stalled motorist East Bound Highway 30 and Highway 17. Tow truck was called.
8-24-07 9:10pm Deputy Pontius responded to a single vehicle accident at 170th and L Ave, NW of Boone. Hannah R. Hadaway 15 of Boone was north bound on L Ave and lost control on the Curve at 170th. Hadaway and a passenger Rachelle E. Stephens 14 of Boone we both ejected from the vehicle. Both were air lifted by Air Ambulances from the scene to Mercy in Des Moines. Boone Ambulance Ogden Fire and State Patrol were on the scene. Damages were est. at $4,000.00 to Hadway's 1992 Dodge Dakota.
8-25-07 8:36am Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint of a vehicle that had struck a barricade at 190th and Quartz. The vehicle a 1983 Chevy Pick-up was still in the area but no driver could be located, beer was also found in the area. Vehicle was towed.
8-25-07 11:54am Sgt. Hurley took a complaint from a Rita Dawson of Rural Woodward, she reported that her mail box was vandalized over night in the 2100 block of Owl Ave. Dawson said they heard a loud bang at around 1am, but did not notice damage till late in the morning.
8-25-07 11:06pm Deputy Godzicki made a traffic stop at Highway 30 and 17. A passenger in the vehicle had been drinking alcohol and was not cooperative with the Officer, that person was under the legal age and asked to step out of the vehicle, when he then assaulted the Deputy. Arrested for under age possession of Alcohol and assualt on a uniformed officer was Taimah Duncan 18 of Tama Iowa. Original stop was for a tail light malfunction.
8-26-07 12:39am Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a party with bond fire and Under age possession of Alcohol. Location was 1400 block of 210th West of Madrid. Charged with under age possession were Andrew Pepples 19 of Boone, and Dora Harris 15 of Boone. Officers are also investigating an assault that took place at this party.
8-26-07 3:53pm Deputy Wingate and Thompson responded to a single vehicle accident 7 miles North of Boone on Nature Rd. Cory J. Schwarzhoff 32 of Stratford was north bound on Nature Rd when he lost control on a curve and drove into a field and stuck 2 round bales of hay and attempted to continue but got stuck. No injuries were reproted, Schwarzhoff was arrested for O.W.I. 2nd Offense, open container, and failure to maintain control. Damages were est. at $10,000.00 to his 1999 Jeep.
8-26-07 7:39pm Deputy Naeve investigated a single vehicle accident in the 1200 block of 198th Rd. Driver Christopher A. Swank 41 of Boone lost control on his motorcycle. Swank was airlifted to Iowa Methodist in Des Moines. investigation continuing
8-27-07 3:11pm Deputy Wingate investigated a complaint from a Mehgan Wieneke of Rural Madrid, she claims that Dish Network has been billing her as someone fraudulently used her old account that was closed in 2003.
8-27-07 8:35pm Deputy Wingate responded to a complaint of garbage dumped in the 1300 block of Montana Rd. Deputy located a couch, chair and a refridgerator in the ditch at that location. Appeared to have been dumped sometime ago. County Rd Dept. was informed.
8-28-07 8:14pm Deputy Naeve responded to a complaint of a semi that rolled over on County Rd E57 near the Story County Line. When Deputy arrived he had to go further East into Story County to find the Semi. Story County was informed and Kelly First Responders responded.
8-28-07 9:19pm Deputy Naeve responded to a complaint of an electrical line down across the roadway on the Angus Curves on Highway 144.
8-29-07 2:40am Deputy Wingate responded to alarm sounding at United Community School Sixers Building, false alarm.
8-29-07 3:30pm Sgt. Hurley investigated a two vehicle accident 2 miles East of Boone on 210th. Shannon J. Books 35 of Ames was east bound when another vehicle operated by Kimberly I. Wickett 47 of Madrid was facing north at a stop sign and proceeded to enter the roadway in front of the path of the east bound vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $1,000.00 to Book's 1991 Chevy S10 Pick-up and $3,000.00 to Wickett's 1998 Dodge Stratus. Wickett was cited for failure to yield right of way.
8-29-07 5:06pm Sgt. Hurley responded to an incomplete 911 from 1997 G Ave, Ogden. 14 year old boy had dialed 911 and hung up because he did not want to do chores around the house as requested by his mother. The boy was talked to about improper use of 911.
8-30-07 12:28am Deputy Godzicki responded to Madrid to assist the Madrid Officer with an attempted suicide. Female was taken to the Boone County Hospital where she was held until a facility would be able to take her for mental evaluation. Sheriff's Office had to post guard there and may have to until this afternoon.
8-30-07 10:15am Deanna Denker 52 of Luther came to the Sheriff's Office to be finger printed on a previous arrest. Denker came to the Sheriff's Office intoxicated and was arrested for Public Intoxication.
8-30-07 5:02pm Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint of trespassers on the Railroad on the train at 210th and S Ave. Arrested for Trespassing were the following: Richard R. Derr 51 of Waterloo IA., Dwaine F. Matts 52 of Port Huron Michigan, and Colleen N. Burke 19 of Minneapolis Minn.
8-31-07 1:17am Deputy Godzicki assisted a Madrid Officer with an O.W.I. arrest and another Man wanted out of Louisville Kentucky on a felony warrant.
8-31-07 3:07pm Sheriff Fehr arrested a Kody Anderson 20 of Perry after he turned himself into the Boone County Jail to serve time. Anderson was arrested for Public Intoxication as he showed up to serve his time Intoxicated.
8-31-07 4:32pm Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch in the 100 block of N Ave Stratford. Brennan E. Bergman 13 of Rural Boone County Stratford area had driven the family pick-up to a neighbors and while returning home lost control of the pick-up and rolled into the ditch. Air Ambulance was dispatched but Bergman was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigation continuing The vehicle he was operating was a 1997 Ford F250
8-31-07 9:16pm Deputy Hoffman investigated a single vehicle accident 7 miles West of Boone in the 2300 block of 220th. Christina D. Sacco 16 of Ames east bound when she lost control and went into the south ditch and rolled her vehicle onto its top. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $6,800.00 to her 1999 Honda Accord.
8-31-07 11:47pm Deputy Godzicki investigated a single vehicle accident 2 miles east of Boone at Highway 17 and Highway 30. Harrison L. Burgett 45 of St. John Indiana was west bound on 30 coming off the entrance ramp from Highway 17 when he apparently lost control and rolled his vehicle several times in the roadway. Boone Ambulance and Fire responded to the scene. Mercy Air Life was dispatched to the scene and transported Burgett to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, A passenger 68 year old Alva Burgett of Ashland Ohio was transported to the Boone County Hospital by Ambulance. Investigation continuing.
