8-02-05 6:40am Deputy Mitchell investigated a single vehicle accident 1 mile East of Boone on Highway 30. Billy B. Thomas 30 of Boone was east bound changing lanes during heavy rain and hydroplaned into the south ditch, striking a support cable for electrical pole, causing $4,500.00 in damages to his 1999 Chevy. No injuries were reported.
8-02-05 7:00am Deputy Elsberry investigated a single vehicle accident 1/8th of mile West of Boone on 220th. Nathan J. Kruse 21 of West Point Iowa was west bound on new 30 during the hard rain and hydroplaned and struck a guard rail, this caused $5,000.00 in damages to his 1998 Ford mustang. No injuries were reported.

8-03-05 John J. Venema 38 of Boone was arrested by State Patrol in Des Moines, on a Boone County Warrant, bond $10,000 for probation revocation, was transported to the Boone County Jail.
8-03-05 10:53am Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint by Jim Pfrimmer North of Boone that someone had slashed all 4 tires on his pick-up, this pick-up had a for sale sign on it at his residence.
8-03-05 3:45pm Hamilton County arrested a Brandi K. Nootz 30 of Eagle Grove was wanted on a Boone County warrant for forgery, bond $6,000.00.
8-03-05 11:08pm Deputy Middleton responded to the Woodward Resource Center on a complaint of an assault that had taken place. An employee reported that she had been assaulted by a client.
8-03-05 11:41pm Deputy Pontius arrested a Adam W. Gildea 26 of 211 Cottage Street, Pilot Mound for possession of drug paraphernalia.
8-04-05 9:30am Deputy Hurley investigated a two vehicle accident 1.5 miles East of Woodward on 334th Rd. Andrew Lee 25 of Ankeny was west bound when he attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway. another west bound vehicle operated by Joshua A. Banka 27 of Perry was directly behind Lee and was not paying attention looked up and saw the Lee Vehicle slowing slammed on brakes and struck struck Lee in his turn. Lee was taken by Boone County ambulance to the Boone County Hospital for treatment. Damages were est at $2,000.00 to Lee's 1988 Jaguar, and $2,000.00 to Banka's 1991 Escort. Banka was cited for failure to maintain control.
8-04-05 3:00pm Detective Kendall responded to another complaint of a theft of copper wiring and also a drill from a Job site north of Don Williams Lake, reported by Alliant. Value est at $2-300.00.

8-04-05 9:04pm Deputy Pontius investigated a car deer accident 5 miles NW of Boone on E26. Maurice McCoy 71 of Boone was east bound when a deer ran out in front of him, causing over $1,000.00 in damages to his 1999 Buick. No injuries were reported.
8-05-05 2:54am Deputy Pontius responded to a car deer accident on Highway 17 near the Old AT&T Towers. Walter Hilpipre 44 of Webster City struck a deer, causing minor damages to his 1999 Chevy. No injuries were reported.
8-06-05 3:10pm Deputy Rohden responded to a complaint of shots heard and yelling in an area north of a gravel pit in the 2200 block of Owl Ave, Woodward, when deputy arrived he did not locate anyone or anything in the area.
8-06-05 3:30pm Deputy Rohden investigated a two vehicle accident 2 miles South of Boone on Quill Ave. Marlene Zenor 66 of Madrid was north bound when she came up onto the back of slow moving farm tractor operated by Michael Erb 15 of Boone. Zenor struck the back of the Tractor, causing $2,500.00 in damages to her 2002 Ford Escort. Eb's John Deere tractor received 0 damages. No one was injured.

Barbara Valencia 55 of Oswega Iowa was operating a motorcycle and failed to negotiate a curve while west bound, got off onto rough shoulder and median and lost control. Valencia was air lifted to Mercy In Des Moines.Damages were est at $1,000.00 to her 1999 Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

8-07-05 5:42pm Deputy Rohden investigated a two vehicle accident 4 miles East of Boone on V Ave and 180th. Barbara A. Judson 72 of Ames was south bound on V and failed to give right of way to a East bound vehicle operated by Wiliam D. Johnston 45 of Stanhope. Receiving minor injuries was 10 year old Abigail Judson, who was a passenger in the Judson vehicle.
8-07-05 8:00pm Deputy Naeve responded to a complaint of 4 wheelers operating on the roadway in the 1300 block of Moingona Rd. Two male juveniles were located in the area off the roadway and spoke to, also their parents were contacted, no charges this time.
8-08-05 3:33pm Detective Kendall responded to a complaint by the Des Moines Y-Camp north of Boone. They reported that a camper had a digital camera and cash stolen this morning. Victim was Liliyia Shevtsova of Ukraine. At 8:21pm Detective Kendall had recovered the camera and $190.00 in cash from a 16 year old Rural Boone Boy. Investigation continuing.
8-08-05 8:42pm Jailer responded to Polk County to pick-up a prisoner who was arrested by Polk County on a Boone County Warrant. Arrested was Garold B. Dickerson 35 of Polk City.
8-08-05 11:52pm Chad M. Hudson 32 of Boone turned himself into the Boone County Jail on a Boone County warrant for delivery of meth, bond $50,000.00.
8-08-05 3:34am Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a cow out on the roadway 1 mile south of Boxholm on Highway 169. Cow was off roadway and penned up when he arrived.
8-09-05 10:41am Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint by Wana Wade that someone had entered her home in the 2000 block of Owl Ave, Woodward and stole meat from her freezer. no forced entry into the Home, but lock on freezer was missing. Investigation continuing.

8-10-05 9:22am Sgt Hurley responded to another Burglary this one at the Co-op in Luther. again the suspects had gone through a window, and $300.00 in cash was reported stolen. Evidence was collected.
8-10-05 9:00am Sheriff Fehr executed a writ of ejectment at 312 Story St, Boone. Writ was completed by 9:45am.
8-10-05 10:28am Sgt Hurley took care of a complaint by a resident of Boxholm that the Co-op had employee's that were scrapping lime from trucks next to a home where the resident worked nights and could not sleep.
8-11-05 6:50am The Communications Center received a complaint from the D.O.T. that had located a van in the ditch in the 2400 block of highway 30. Vehicle was unoccupied, State Patrol was dispatched out of Post 1.
8-11-05 8:12am Jailer picked up prisoner Thomas R. Rouse 49 of Boone, from the Story County Jail, Rouse is wanted on a Boone County Warrant for several drug related charges.
8-11-05 9:51am Sgt Hurley responded to Pilot Mound at 106 Cottage St, on a complaint from a Melissa Morgan 24 of that address reported that she had left her purse in the home while she went for a walk the evening before, came home and someone had dumped her purse taking a $100.00 bill.
8-12-05 5:14pm Deputy Naeve while serving civil papers came across an individual at 2169 Deer Ave, wanted on a Polk County Warrant, arrested was Scott A. Twogood 27 of Perry. Bond $9,750.00
8-14-05 11:27pm Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint that a vehicle had struck a white steer on the roadway at 170th and B Ave. Driver Mark Pugh 41 of Fort Dodge struck a steer causing $500.00 damages to his 1989 Chevrolet. no injuries were reported.
8-16-05 5:09am Jonathan R. Hill 24 of Fort Dodge turned himself into the Boone County Jail as he was wanted on a Boone County Warrant, bond $5,000.00 on a drug related charge.
8-16-05 1:44pm Sheriff Fehr spoke to several Hispanic immigrants who wanted to file a complaint about unfair labor practices by an area Farmer who had hired them to walk beans in the Northern part of Boone County. Statements were taken and case handed over to Iowa Dept of Labor.
8-16-05 10:27pm Deputy Middleton responded to a complaint of an individual who was at residence in Pilot Mound and there was a restraining order in place. Arrested was Shawn I. Christiansen 28 of Wyoming Iowa for Violation of a protection order.
8-17-05 8:16am Sgt Hurley arrested a Jared A. Haberer 27 of Atlanta Georgia, Haberer turned himself into the Sheriff's Office on a warrant for O.W.I. 2nd Offense, Bone $5,000.00.
8-17-05 9:44am Sgt Hurley made a traffic stop at Industrial Rd and Meridian in Boone. Driver Eli D. Davis 27 of Des Moines was arrested for driving while license Suspended.
8-17-05 9:30am Sgt Moore executed a writ of ejectment at 107 W. Sycamore in Ogden writ was completed by 12:00pm
8-17-05 12:45pm Deputy Mitchell responded to Polk County to pick -up an inmate Justin B. Osterhout who was arrested in Polk County on a Boone County warrant. Probation revocation, bond $5,200.00 original charge possession of marijuana.
8-17-05 8:49pm Deputy Naeve investigated a car deer accident in the 600 block of 170th, Ogden. Jody Nation 43 of Ogden struck a deer causing $2,000.00 in damages to her 2002 Toyota. No injuries were reported.
8-17-05 10:37pm The Office received a complaint by the Woodward Resource Center that they had a client throw a tile at a vehicle of an employee on the Woodward grounds. The tile struck the vehicle and broke a windsheild.
8-18-05 5:12am Deputy Middleton and a Boone Police Capt responded to a complaint of trespassers on railroad property at Quartz and Highway 30. Arrested for trespassing were Craig R. Ziegler 54 of Houston Texas, and John Wilson 37 of East Cleveland Ohio.
8-18-05 5:51pm Deputy Rohden responded to a two vehicle accident 4 miles North of Ogden on P70. Levi Judge 20 of Randall was north bound on P70 slowing to make a right turn onto 162nd when he was struck from behind by another north bound vehicle operated by Ann M. Zobeck 37 of Ogden. No injuries were reported, damages were est at over a $1,000.00 to each of the vehicles. Judge was operating a 1993 Chevy Corsica, and Zobeck was operating a 1992 Honda Accord. Zobeck was cited for failure to stop within assured clear distance.
8-18-05 6:26pm Christopher Miller 19 of Pilot Mound turned himself into the Boone County Jail on a Boone County warrant for theft 5th 2 counts, Bond $500.00.
8-19-05 6:11pm Deputy Rohden investigated a two vehicle accident 6 miles North of Boone on E18 and P Ave. Duane A.Reese 36 of Cumberland Wisconsin was west bound on E18, he stopped at the stop sign then proceeded west bound when another north bound vehicle operated by Craig A. Behrendsen 19 of Boone ran through the stop sign and struck the Reese vehicle. Reese was transported by Boone County Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital. Damages were est at $2,500.00 to Reese's 1999 Blazer, and $3,000.00 to Behrendsen's 1988 Chevy. Behrendsen was cited for Failure to stop.
8-19-05 11:51pm Deputy Pontius made a traffic stop after he observed a vehicle coming into Luther in the wrong lane. Driver Nicholas Hadaway 26 of Woodward was arrested for O.W.I. 1st, driving on the wrong side of roadway and operation of a vehicle with expired registration.
8-20-05 3:26am Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint by another motorist that they had observed a vehicle in the ditch and driver admitted to have been drinking alcohol. Location was at west 16th and Marion, Boone. Driver of vehicle in the ditch Joshua J. Novak 20 of Boone was arrested for O.W.I. 1st and possession of alcohol under the legal age.
8-20-05 8:31am Deputy Elsberry responded to a an alarm sounding at the Boys and Girls Home in the West Ames area, was a false alarm.
8-20-05 1:00pm Deputy Elsberry responded to an Alarm sounding at the Grand Community School. Teachers had accidentally set it off, informed everyone involved in the school but did not call the Sheriff's Office to explain that it was accidental.
8-21-05 12:59am Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint by a motorist who had called in a complaint that his vehicle had been hit by fireworks coming from a residence of 1249 Y Ave Boone. When Deputy arrived to that location he found a party with under age individuals, the follwing were charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age.Teran E. Stark 20 of Nevada, Christine J. Byrne 20 of Ames, Thomas J. Wilson 20 of Ames, Chelsea S. Elbert 20 Urbandale, Timothy D. Olson 20 of Nevada, and Robert J. Anderson 20 of Ames. Also while Deputies were a the location they observed fireworks launchers, so that part of the investigation is continuing.
8-21-05 8:12am Sgt Hurley responded to 208 2nd St, Boxholm on a compliant of a bat in the home. Deputy was able to capture the bat and remove.
8-21-05 11:32pm Deputy Middleton responded to a car fire in front of the United Community School on highway 30, the vehcile a 1987 Nisson received damages and was towed. Driver Richard J. Montanaro 22 of Boone was arrested for driving while license suspended. and no insurance.
8-22-05 8:20am Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint of a bicycle located laying along the roadside at E18 and G Ave, Ogden, the bicycle was taken to the Ogden County Shed, If no one claims the bike it will be taken to the Dump after a couple of weeks.
8-22-05 4:41pm Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint of a sand bag on the roadway on highway 169 near Ogden. Sand bag was removed.
8-22-05 5;00pm Deputy Elsberry took a complaint from a Wesley Sherman of 256 284th Berkley that someone had vandalized his vehicle by breaking out a window with a hammer that was left behind. Investigation continuing.
8-23-05 6:10am Sgt Hurley investigated a car deer accident 6.5 miles South of Ogden on H Ave. Dean A. Berkland 52 of Perry struck a deer causing $2,500.00 in damages to his 2004 GMC Van. No injuries were reported.
8-23-05 10:16am Sgt Hurley located a 1995 Pontiac that has been along the roadside int he 1700 block of 210th for over two weeks, Several attempts have been made to locate owner, vehicle was towed.
8-23-05 4:18pm Sheriff Fehr took a complaint from a Richard Angove who reported that over this past week-end someone had vandalized a job trailer and 1989 Aerostar Mini Van that he has stored on his property on West 2nd Extension, Boone. Windows were broken out.
8-24-05 7:10am Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint by the I.S.U. Field Education Lab that they had a building vandalized inthe 1900 block of 240th, Boone. Someone had attempted to break into a door and broke an outside light, requested extra patrol.
8-24-05 8:52pm Deputy Naeve responded to the Greene County Line to pick-up a prisoner arrested by Greene County wanted on a Boone County Warrant. Arrested was Timothy L. Porter 26 of Ames. Probation revocation on a drug charge.
8-25-05 9:00am Sheriff Fehr executed a writ of ejectment at 312 2nd St, Apt 7 Boone. Writ was completed at 11:00am. Second writ was executed at 207 Harrison Apt 9, Boone. That writ was completed at 2:00pm.
8-23-05 4:36pm The Central Iowa Task Force did a search of a residence at 573 W Ave Boone. Arrested was Jerry Pepper 51 of that address. he was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver. 2 pounds of Marijuana was seized at that location, investigation continuing.
8-26-05 7:30am Sheriff's Deputies responded to a personal injury accident near United Community School on Highway 30. Two vehicles involved and at press time one person had been taken to Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames by Boone County Ambulance. State Patrol out of Post one covered the accident.
8-26-05 6:40am Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint of a motorist in his vehicle in the ditch in the 300 block of Nature Rd, Driver was having a medical problem, driver refused medical treatment.
8-26-05 11:21am Deputy Elsberry investigated a two vehicle accident 3/4 of a mile East of Madrid on 210. Kelly D. Smith 50 of Boone was west bound when he observed another west bound vehicle operating on the shoulder of the roadway, Smith followed for a while and then decided to pass, at that time the vehicle on the shoulder pulling a trailer pulled back onto the roadway and struck the bumper of the Smith vehicle, both went into the ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est at $2,000.00 to Smith's 2003 Chevy pick-up, and no damages to a 1993 Dodge Pick-up operated by Matthew G. Konen 18 of Maxwell, his horse trailer received $200.00 in damages.
8-27-05 9:57am Sgt. Hurley responded to a complaint of an alarm sounding at the Monsanto Maintenance Shed in the 2300 block 230th. Was a false alarm.
8-28-05 2:23am Deputy Godzicky made a traffic stop just east of 17 on highway 30. Driver Jason S. Bailey 28 of Des Moiens was arrested for O.W.I.
8-29-05 Arrest Warrants have been issued for 4-- 18 year olds for the Burglaries of Don Williams Lake Clubhouse and Kris' Korner Inn in Boxholm, these Burglaries took place on June 20th, 2005. Thomas J. Kerlin 18, Michael R. Mikkelsen 18, and James A. Holder 18 all of Rudd Iowa are in Custody In Steele County Minnesota. A fourth suspect Richard E. Deubel 18 of Bagley Iowa has not yet been arrested. This investigation was a two month long investigation resulting investigations in Northern and Central Iowa and Southern Minnesota. These boys are responsible for 71 Burglaries in 14 Iowa Counties. All 4 are facing 2 counts of Burglary in the 3rd degree just for Boone County. Other Jurisdictions have or will be filing additional charges.
8-29-05 10:16pm Deputy Naeve responded to a domestic situation at Country Aire Mobile Home Park. Arrested for Domestic abuse assault was Mike Allen 40 of 965 222nd Drive, lot 35, Ogden.
8-30-05 7:20am Richard Deubel 18 of Bagley turned himself into the Sheriff's Office on a Warrant for Burglary 3rd degree two counts. Bond $10,000.00. This is in regards to the Investigation listed above at Boxholm and Don Williams.
8-30-05 8:43am Rex Winschell of Altoona reported that that the Zieg Ziegler Co, had 2 watches, 2 calculators and assorted toys and some pen sets that were stolen from a booth at the Farm Fest East of Boone.
8-30-05 10:40am Chief Deputy Mitchell arrested Stephani M. Dickerson 20 of Boone on a Boone County warrant at the Courthouse bond $270.00, failure to appear original charge possession of alcohol under the legal age.
8-30-05 3:46pm Detective Kendall began an investigation of a theft of prescription pain mediation from a medical cart at the Woodward Resource Center. Investigation continuing.
