4-02-07        4:59am  Deputy Dominick responded to a complaint of an alarm sounding at Van Wall Equipment in Madrid, was a false alarm.

4-02-07        7:36pm  Deputy Pontius responded to the Ledges State Park on a compliant by the Park Officer that he needed assistance with kids that were placing picnic tables in the water. Several Kids were spoken to. No arrests at this time.

4-03-07        1:21am  Deputy Naeve made a traffic stop at X Ave and 190th St, Boone. Driver Zachary C. Hostetter 21 of Ames was arrested for O.W.I. 2nd Offense.

4-03-07        10:07am  Derek S. Kuenster 18 of Boone was arrested in Ames on a Boone County Warrant. Was transported to the Boone County Jail. Probation revocation, original charge possession of marijuana, bond $1,000.00.

4-03-07        8:01pm  Deputy Naeve made a traffic stop on Y Ave and Cameron Rd, north of Ames. Driver Keara D. Arnold 21 of Ames was arrested for driving while Lic. suspended, David S. Robb 28 of Ames was arrested on a warrant for  failure to appear on a driving while lic. suspended charge, bond $500.00. Robb was in another vehicle.

4-04-07        9:00am  Chief Deputy Mitchell executed a writ of ejectment at 909 West 6th, St. Boone.

4-04-07        11:39am  Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint by Bob's Septic Services out of Berwick Iowa that they had located a stolen Mobile Toilet south of the Ledges State Park 1 mile. The toilet had been stolen from Jefferson. Toilet was recovered at 1475 263rd. Investigation continuing.

4-05-07        12:27am  Deputy Naeve and Madrid Officer along with Boone County Ambulance responded to 1830 290th St, Madrid. A pregnant woman had fallen down the stairs and was taken to Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames by Ambulance.

4-05-07        2:29am  Deputy Naeve made a traffic stop after the driver failed to stop at a stop sign, in the 700 block of 200th St, Boone. Driver Joel D. Welsher 37 of Boone was arrested for O.W.I. 1st Offense.

4-05-07        7:26am  Deputy Pontius responded to a medical emergency at 2211 229th Place, Boone, Kelley Fire responded along with Boone County Ambulance.

4-05-07        3:00pm  Deputy Pontius attempted tobacco buys with an under age teenager in Businesses in Boone County. Attempts made at Chris' Corner in Boxholm, Deck's Station in Pilot Mound, Casey's Store in Ogden, they all passed. Hometown Food and Fuel in Ogden did sell tobacco to the teenager, this is the second purchase made in that business. Charged was Karri E. Teichert 43 of Ogden for providing tobacco to a minor.

4-06-07        5:20am  Deputy Dominick responded to a complaint of a dog barking nonstop since 11:00pm, owner of the dog was spoken to, dog stopped barking after dog moved.

4-06-07        11:54am  Zackery Miller of Pilot Mound reported that he has had two gas tanks on his vehicles siphoned in the past two weeks. This occurred in front of him home at 412 2nd St. Pilot Mound.

4-06-07        6:53pm  Deputy Rohden investigated a two vehicle accident 4 miles East of Boone on Highway 17. Chris T. Miller 42 of Boone was north bound on highway 17 making a left turn onto 190th, when an east bound vehicle operated by Scott J. Drusch 34 of Boone on 190th struck the Miller vehicle during the turn. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $1,500.00 to Miller's 1998 Oldsmobile and $2,000.00 to Drusch's 2002 Ford. Drusch was cited for no insurance and no drivers lisence.

4-07-07        6:25am  Deputy Pontius responded to an alarm sounding at JR Motorsports in the 1400 block of 220th Boone. Was a false alarm.

4-07-07        8:39pm  Sgt. Hurley investigated a car deer accident 1/2 mile East of Boone on 220th. William J. Lake Jr. 53 of Independence Iowa struck a deer, causing $2,000.00 in damages to his 1997 Chevy. No injuries were reported.

4-08-07        4:01am  Paper delivery person found a mail box destroyed at 755 I Ave, Ogden. Owner of mail box Ron Hagge. mail box had been vandalized overnight.

4-09-07        12:25pm  Transport Officer responded to Maquketa Iowa to pick-up a prisoner Ricky L. Lane 46 of Elroy Arizona, wanted on a Boone County Warrant for probation revocation, original charge delivery of Marijuana. Bond $7,500.00. Taken to the Boone County Jail.

4-09-07        1:04pm  Deputy Kendall assisted a stalled motorist with a flat tire in the 1000 block of old highway 30.

4-09-07        1:50pm  Sgt Hurley investigated a a single vehicle roll over 2 miles east of Boxholm on 100th St. Christine M. Johnson 16 of Dayton was east bound when she crossed the center of the roadway and over corrected and rolled her vehicle on the roadway several times. Johnson and her passenger Chase Dodson 12 of Dayton were both taken by Boone County Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital for treatment of injuries. Damages were est. at $2,000.00 to Johnson's 1996 Pontiac.

4-09-07        2:57pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to a pick-up fire at 960 U Ave, Boone. Pick-up owned by Tim Anderson and was a total loss, from electrical problem in the 1984 Ford Pick-up. No injuries were reported. Boone Fire responded.

4-10-07        6:40pm  Sgt Hurley assisted with a motorist assist in the 300 block of Story St, Boone. Driver Dorothy E. Maro 57 of Webster City was arrested for Driving while license suspended, no insurance and improper registration.

4-11-07        2:30am  Deputy Rohden investigated a single vehicle accident 4 miles West of Gilbert on X Ave. Mathew E. Merritt 25 of Ames was north bound when he lost control on the gravel and rolled his vehicle into the east ditch. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $4,000.00 to his 1995 Jeep.

4-11-07        7:17am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a vehicle it the ditch on the Erickson Curves Highway 30. no damages or injuries reported.

4-11-07        8:05am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch on E26 one mile east of Boone. No damages or injuries were reported.

4-11-07        8:14am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of several vehicles in the ditch on P Ave in the 700 block, again no report of injuries and damages under $1,000.00.

4-11-07        8:31am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch at Highway 17 and 30. No injuries or damages were reported.

4-11-07        8:55am  Deputy Pontius investigated a minor single vehicle accident just north of Highway 30 on highway 17. Patrick M. Hoffman 24 of Boone. Snow related, damages under $1,000.00 to his 1998 Chevy Lumina, and no injuries were reported.

4-11-07        9:09am  Deputy Pontius responded to a two vehicle accident at Highway 30 and T Ave. Farron F. Fiedler Jr. 18 of Ames struck another vehicle in traffic operated by Megan L. Howard 19 of  St. Anthony Iowa. No injuries were reported. Damages were under $1,000.00 total to both vehicles. Fiedler was operating a 1995 Chevy S10 and Howard was operating a 1997 Ford Taurus.

4-11-07        9:32am  Deputy Pontius responded to a truck in the ditch at the Napier Exit on Highway 30. No injuries or daamges were reported.

4-11-07        10:00am  Sheriff Fehr executed a writ of ejectment at 513 west 5th, Madrid.

4-11-07        1:09pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of cattle loose in the area of E26 by the Waterworks area. Cattle were rounded up into a pasture.

4-11-07        10:57pm  Deputy Dominick responded to a compliant of a vehicle in the ditch in the 1500 block of Quill Ave. No injuries or damages were reported.

4-12-07        9:00am  Sheriff Fehr executed a writ of ejectment at 704 Marion Apt 3, Boone.

4-12-07        9:35am  Deputy Pontius and Ogden Officer  with K-9 went through Ogden High School locker areas. No drugs or alerts were detected.

4-12-07        12:25pm Deputy Pontius responded for a medical assist in the 1500 block of  L Ave Boone.

4-12-07        12:55pm  Deputy Pontius and Kendall responded to 1100 block of 105th, Stratford, woman thought she may have an intruder in her home. Home was checked out and out buildings and everything O.K.

4-12-07        8:25pm  Complainant who was traveling on County Rd E18 east of Pilot Mound on Twister hill claimed to have a witnessed a vehicle drive off the roadway into a ravine. She looked the area over and did not see anything, Deputy Dominick also looked the area over and after walking deeper into the wooded area found the accident scene, as it was difficult to locate.. The Driver Brian M. Anschutz 38 of Boxholm was east bound on E18 when he apparently lost control and went into the north ravine. Anschutz was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Damages were est. at $20,000.00 to his 2006 Toyota.  Investigation continuing.

4-13-07        9:40am  The Sheriff's Office received two complaints from separate residents in Boone reporting a possible scam. The first person reported a telephone call asking for bank information, which was not given. The second person reported a telephone call about lower your interest and wanted personal information. These complainants did the right thing and questioned the callers and did not give out their personal information.

4-13-07        3:03pm  Deputy Pontius investigated a 3 vehicle accident one mile north of Madrid on Highway 17. Angela M. Blasnitz 52 of Madrid was north bound and stopped to turn left onto 315th, when another north bound vehicle operated by Raymond Eppert 79 of Luther struck the back of a vehicle that was between him and Blasnitz, that vehicle was stopping for the first vehicle and operated by Nadine B. Harvey 77 of Madrid. Epert was transported to the Boone County Hospital by ambulance. Damages were est. at $3000.00 to Epperts 1990 Chevy Pick-up $7,000.00 to Blasnitz' 2002 Ford Focus, and $7,000.00 to Harvey's 2004 Buick LaSabre.

4-13-07        4:46pm  Deputy Pontius responded to an incomplete 911 call to 929 J Ave, Ogden, was a child playing on the phone.

4-13-07        10:48pm  Deputy Godzicki responded to the Green County line to pick-up a prisoner arrested in Green County on a Boone County Warrant. Brought back to the Boone County Jail was 18 year old Timothy Hartman wanted for driving while suspended, bond $1,000.00.

4-14-07        3:24am  Boone City Police requested assistance as they were in pursuit of a vehicle in the 800 block of 10th, Boone, Occupants X4 fled from the vehicle near the Scenic Valley Railroad Station. 3 were caught hiding in a dumpster. Boone P.D. handles charges.

4-15-07        12:40am  Deputy Godzicki responded to a domestic situation in the 6100 block of West Lincoln way Ames. Was a birthday party with upset individuals, No arrests at this time.

4-15-07        12:55am  Des Moines P.D. called Boone County to request Officers check the Ledges State Park on a possible suicidal individual. Ledges Officer was not available and Deputies were on Domestic in West Ames. Information was then related that individual could be a Boone Speedway. Madrid Officer located the vehicle on Highway 17 and requested medical personal as male individual had cut himself.

4-15-07        1:12am  Deputy Dominick responded to a complaint of a west bound vehicle in the east bound lanes on Highway 30 in Ames, headed for Boone County.  Vehicle was not located.

4-15-07        9:08am  Sgt Hurley assisted a stalled motorist with a flat tire at Highway 30 and U Ave.

4-15-07        3:09pm  Deputy Elsberry investigated a complaint of a dog bite that took place in Rural Madrid, just into Polk County. 3 year old child was taken to the Boone County Hospital by personal vehicle. Cody Hill age 3 received medical treatment at the Boone County Hospital. Owner of the Dog Chip Manders of Rural Madrid.

4-16-07        This morning warrants were issued and arrests were made on the incident of the Cigarette thefts in late March at Boone Freight lines in Boone. Arrested for Burglary in the 3rd degree and theft 1st degree were the following. Ryan L. Braland 17 of Ogden, Tyler L. Wrabek 17 of Boone, and Nickolas A. Colvin 18 of Boone a 4th person is being sought for the same offenses. That individual is 20 year old Cale A. Hennings of Boone.  This has been a lengthy investigation with several individuals interviewed, which resulted in a search warrant on April 4th in Ames, in that location 51 cartons and cigarettes were seized. The address of that warrant was 1218 Delaware Ave. Agencies involved in this investigation include Boone P.D. Ames P.D. Story County Sheriff's Office and the Central Iowa Task Force. The lead Detective was Kenneth Kendall of the Boone County Sheriff's Office. Braland and Wrabek are being held in Eldora at the Boys detention facility,  Colvin is being held at the Boone County Jail on $15,000.00 bond.

4-17-07        3:14am  Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of vandalism to a vehicle at 2337 230th parking for the Iowa Thin Film Tech. Owner of vehicle Amanda Hammer of Ames reported a  flat tire at that location. No other damage to the vehicle.

4-17-07        7:04am  Julie A. Harris 45 of Boone turned herself into the Sheriff's Office on a Boone County Warrant, warrant for probation revocation, original charge unlawful possession of a prescription drug, bond $1,000.00.

4-17-07        7:10am  Cale Henning 20 of Boone turned himself into the Sheriff's Office on a warrant for Burglary 3rd degree and theft 1st degree. Bond $15,000.00.

4-17-07        9:06am  Deputy Pontius responded to the Story County line to pick up a prisoner arrested by Ames P.D. on a Boone County Warrant. Arrested and transported to the Boone County Jail was Richard L. Claussen  Probation revocation, original charge O.W.I. 2nd Offense, bond $2,000.00.

4-17-07        7:49pm  Deputy Elsberry and Dominick responded to a semi fire in the 1800 block of L Ave. Driver Thomas Hall 60 of Glidden Iowa. Woodward and Madrid Fire Departments responded along with search and rescue. D.O.T. will complete the report. No injuries were reported.

4-18-07        10:08am  Detective Kendall responded to a compliant by a County Road Crew Member that he had located a machine in the ditch near United Community on U Ave. The machine is a mega touch maxx sapphire addition video game, type used in bars for free drinks. So far unable to locate who may have lost one. Object is being held in evidence.

4-18-07        5:13pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to the Ames Police Dept. to pick-up a prisoner arrested in Ames on a Boone County warrant. Transported to the Boone County Jail was James R. Sloan 27 of  Cambridge wanted on a warrant for failure to appear, original charge public intoxication, bond $250.00.

4-19-07        6:08am  Sgt. Hurley investigated a car deer accident 2 miles west of Ames on 230th. Gary D. Long 49 of Ames struck a deer causing $2,000.00 in damages to his 2000 Ford Escort. No injuries were reported.

4-19-07        9:52am  Sheriff Fehr executed a writ of ejectment at 1836 West 2nd Ext, Boone.

4-19-07        10:05am  Sgt Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident 3 miles East of Perry on B Ave. The Green County sheriff was on scene and requested assistance. Accident was in Boone County. Driver Jessica A. Christensen 35 of Perry was east bound on 290th when the 2 year old passenger got out of her car seat and grabbed the steering wheel of the car, causing driver to loose control and roll the vehicle several times on the roadway. Injures was the driver and 2 year old passenger Jackson Christensen who is the child of the driver and from Perry. Damages were est. at $10,000.00 to a 2005 Pontiac Montana Van. Both taken the Greene County Hospital in Jefferson.

4-19-07        2:00pm  Sgt Hurley assisted the Grand Comm. School in Boxholm with a lock down drill. everything went well.

4-19-07        6:24pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint that person had witnessed what appeared to be a domestic problem 1 mile east of P70 on E26, Deputy located a female and child walking in the area and female had been assaulted. Male party was located and arrested for Domestic abuse assault. That person arrested was Lance L. Hubby 35 of Ogden.

4-20-07        9:14am  Sgt Hurley began an investigation of the theft of tools from a shop at 1691 Peach Ave, Madrid. Richard Diltz reported that he had a three drawer tool box full of tools missing, valued at approximately $1,000.00. Tools could have been taken since this past December.

4-20-07        10:02am  Sgt. Hurley responded to Luther to take a report of vandalism to a home in the 300 block of 1st St in Luther. Someone had thrown a rock through a window while no one was home. Investigation continuing.

4-22-07        3:39am  Deputy Godzicki made a traffic stop in the 2100 block of highway 30 and arrested the driver Johnny L. Levy 18 of Des Moines for Speeding and driving while license suspended.

4-22-07        10:44am  Sgt Hurley responded to a compliant of a fire at 103 Cedar St, Woodward on the Woodward State Hospital grounds.  Everything was called off before Officer arrived, fire was out.

4-23-07        4:13pm  Deputy Elsberry responded to a two vehicle accident west of Ogden on Highway 30. Jennifer Evens 18 of Beaver was east bound and slowed for a non contact vehicle in front of her and was struck from behind by Sarah Evens 18 of Beaver. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $1,000.00 to Jennifer's 2002 Oldsmobile and $3,500.00 to Sarah's 1999 Pontiac. No citations were issued as the girls were from the same household, Twins.

4-23-07        4:14pm Detective Kendall, Mitchell and Fehr responded to a complaint of a shot fired at 304 1st St, in Luther. Turned out everything was O.K. Owner of the property was working in garage and dropped large metal object.

4-23-07        7:23pm     Deputy Elsberry received a complaint from a Kevin Kinzler of Ames, who reported that a 4x4 vehicle had driven through a newly seeded development on R38 between 160th and 170th Rural Ames. Estimates several thousands in damages to repair and replace.

4-24-07        6:54pm  Deputy Elsberry investigated a two vehicle accident at 230th and X Ave. Amy M. Shearer 23 of Boone was west bound and struck the back of another west bound vehicle that was stopped to make a left turn, operated by Rollin L. Kness 50 of  Madrid. Shearer received minor injuries from airbag deployment. Damages were est. at $6,000.00 to Shearer's 1996 Windstar, and $10,000.00 to Kness' 2005 Ford F-150.

4-25-07        3:15pm  Sgt. Hurley investigated a single vehicle accident 2.5 miles NW of Boone on L Ave. Warren K. Risberg Jr. 25 of Boone was south bound on L Ave when he said that his steering failed and lost control, drove over a driveway and back into a ditch. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $1,000.00 to his 2006 Chevy.

4-25-07        6:40pm  Sgt Hurley responded to a complaint at Deck's Station in Pilot Mound that someone had driven off without paying for gas at the Station. Taken was $25.00 worth of Fuel. Silver Mitsubishi Elipse occupied by three individuals. Driver was a small blonde female and went north bound. Other information has been gathered. Investigation continuing.

4-26-07        9:07am  Deputy Pontius responded to an ambulance assist at 1813 West 3rd Ext. Boone.

4-26-07        10:47am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of vandalism to a pick-up that was parked in the 2200 block of E Ave. Gail Monthei of Rippey was mushroom hunting and when he returned someone had painted red paint on his 1999 Dodge Pick-up.

4-26-07        11:45am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint that a County Maintainer had backed into a vehicle in traffic just west of I Ave on 320th. Maintainer operator was David L. Terrell 62 of Madrid. Vehicle in traffic operated by Victoria C. Friemal 81 of Woodward. No injuries were reported. Minor damages to the Maintainer and Freimel's 2004 Ford Taurus.

4-26-07        12:57pm  County Maintainer operator confronted an individual who was tearing up a County road with a 4 wheeler on the Backbone Hill, near the Y Camp. 4 wheeler operator fled on the vehicle away from the scene. Investigation continuing.

4-26-07        1:26pm  Deputy Pontius responded to Madrid to assist with a medical problem in the 400 block of Madrid. Female was not breathing, Life flight was dispatched.

4-26-07        9:24pm  Deputy Godzicki investigated a single vehicle accident 1 mile SW of Boone, at Highway 30 and Montana. Jessica Robinson 19 of Boone was east bound when she struck a deer, causing $1,500.00 in damages to a 2005 Ford Van, owned by the Boone County Humane Society. No injuries were reported.
